“Had a wonderful week in October.”

Weather was unexpectedly warm. The cottage was perfect. Large enclosed garden which was safe for our dog. The cottage had lovely large comfortable rooms and was very stylish and clean. The cottage had everything we needed. The village was just down the hill from us and the people of Newcastle Emlyn were very friendly. Took our dog for walks around Newcastle Emlyn, mainly the walk around the castle and also to Poppit Sands which he absolutely loved - vast beach. He had never seen sand ...

He had never seen sand or the sea before but he loved both. We are definitely planning to go back.

About the property

This pretty cottage is nestled into the hillside, on the edge of the popular market town of Newcastle Emlyn.

Just a short walk from a selection of boutique-style shops, antique shops and various great places to eat, the cottage is the perfect base for families and groups of friends.

Set over two floors, there are three comfortable bedrooms on a split-level first floor, with a family shower room on the ground floor.

There is a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area with comfy seating, patio doors leading out to a decked area, and views out onto the garden, plus a double-fronted woodburning stove shared with the comfortable sitting room.

Outside, you can sit in the garden and enjoy views over the rooftops of the town and across the valley.

Sit on the patio with your morning coffee and plan the day ahead, whilst deciding which one of the delightful cafes to pop into on your way out exploring.

The River Teifi runs through the town, opening up fabulous walks along the river, which is renowned for fishing.

On its way to Cardigan, where it joins the sea, it also passes through the village of Cenarth, with its beautiful waterfalls.

Staying at Troedrhiw Ffinant, you are ideally placed to explore the wonderful coastline of Cardigan Bay, just eight and a half miles away, with various sandy beaches, including Tresaith and Aberporth.

Depending on the time of year, you may even be lucky enough to catch sight of a seal and her pups at Cwmtydu, and there are lots more private, quiet coves along the coastal path to discover.

The area offers numerous outdoor activities, such as dolphin and wildlife spotting boat trips, coasteering, river and sea fishing, plus you are a short drive from the Preselli Hills, the Wales Coast Path and the Pembrokeshire National Park.

Slightly further afield, to the north, you will find the popular beach resort of New Quay, famous for its resident dolphins, and the harbour town of Aberaeron, with its candy-coloured terraced houses.

There are also numerous National Trust sites within a 30-minute drive; the sandy beaches of Penbryn, the famous white chapel of Mwnt and the working farm at Llanerchaeron.

The local countryside surrounding this busy market town is fantastic, and with lots of beautiful sandy beaches and the coastal path nearby, you can be sure of a wonderful holiday exploring Cardigan Bay!
