  • "This is a fantastic property, well equipped, cosy & in a very good location for coastal walks, the Presilis & the archeological sites we wanted to visit."

Plenty to do and we aim to return. Thank you

  • "A fabulous house that's suitable for a get together for families and friends with kids and dogs in a beautiful rural quiet location."

Close enough to Newport and Fishguard for their shops, restaurants and beaches. The house had everything we needed, simply furnished, perfect to relax in after beach days and walks.

  • "Mostly as described."

Would be nice to mention use of arga in initial description. A few more coat hooks in the rooms would useful. Overall enjoyed our stay. Dyfryn Arms is awesome

  • "I have been visiting this location to spend time with friends for over 40 years and have stayed in all types of accommodation nearby."

This is by far the best I have found.

  • "The central heating system in this property does not work correctly so, unless you ae there in warm weather, the house can be cold."

However, the hot water system works well. Apart from that, it really is a very nice house, in a perfect location and suitable for large groups.

  • "No sanitizers or soap, central heating worked the first night, no logs for the wood burner, couldn’t see through the windows as outside were dirty."

Path up the hill into garden was impassible. Two of the single beds hadn’t had the sheets changed, assumed as only four of us that would would be using only two beds. Unable to reach anyone from Sykes. Lovely cottage, thank goodness for the range cooker which kept us warmish.

  • "This cottage needs a good clean, decidedly grubby."

The rubbish bin in utility was encrusted with dirt, the hobs were dirty, because of this I sprayed all surfaces with antibacterial spray as I was not confident that the rest of the cottage had been cleaned properly. I found coasters under settee so it obviously had not been cleaned under. The shower drain does not drain away properly leaving you standing is water whilst showering. One towel per person for a weeks stay is insufficient, I took my own after reading a review left by a lady on your website in July, I notice this is no longer on your site, I wonder why ?. To be fair the cottage was comfortable apart from that, it’s is well equipped, it might be an idea to put at least one wardrobe or rail and some coat hangers in there, we had to use the backs of chairs and the cot rail to hang clothes. The view from windows is lovely but it’s a shame the windows are filthy. Are the owners aware that the caretakers are doing such a poor job, they either have insufficient time or have no pride in their work,

The property

Set in the beautiful Gwaun valley, in the heart of the Pembrokeshire National Park, this spacious, yet simply furnished home is ideal people who love west Wales, the countryside and quietude.

It is a perfect base from which to explore this beautiful county.

The open plan feel to the property means it is perfect for a family or group of friends wishing to spend time together. It’s just a few miles from Newport and Fishguard and the beaches at Newport Sands, Pwllgwaelod and Cwm yr Eglwys on the north Pembrokeshire coast.

The Gwaun valley is very beautiful and offers delightful walks, as do the Preseli Hills and the coast path, which are both nearby.

Within walking distance is the Dyffryn Arms, also affectionately known as Bessie's after the long serving landlady.

It’s a world famous, traditional 'front room' pub, where you get Welsh ale served from an enamel jug.
