    Choice of eating establishments within easy walking distance. Very dog friendly area. Most pubs, shops and restaurants managed the social distancing/Covid situation very well. ...

    Choice of eating establishments within easy walking distance. Very dog friendly area. Most pubs, shops and restaurants managed the social distancing/Covid situation very well. I thought parking may have been a problem, but we managed to park 3 cars on the roadside every day - I guess this may be more of an issue during busier times eg school holidays. Property is on a bust main road and junction, but we didn't notice it when indoors - in fact it provided some entertainment!!! Very well equipped house - we were 6 in a property for 11 so we had plenty of space. The only criticism is regarding the barbecue - we planned a barbecue for the weekend but the one was very dirty with remains of food left amongst the coals, and the gas one was even worse. It would be better to remove them altogether and have a barbecue area where people could either bring their own, or use disposable barbecue trays ... maybe just provide a metal grid on which the trays could be placed safely. It would be a shame if this one thing would affect future feedback as everything else in the property was excellent.

The property

Spacious three storey family home in the heart of Newport, a popular north Pembrokeshire seaside town. A short walk leads you to Newport’s, dog-friendly, Parrog beach, which is a favourite with children, the sailing fraternity or those visitors just wanting to enjoy the glorious view.

The spectacular, 186-mile-long Pembrokeshire Coast Path can also be joined here.

Across the estuary is Traeth Mawr (Big Beach), which can be reached with care at low tide or by the longer route inland around the Nevern estuary.

Newport itself has an excellent range of cafes, pubs and restaurants, together with a variety of independent shops and galleries.

There is a weekly, Local Producers Market on Mondays.

The backdrop to Newport is Carningli and the beginning of the Preseli Hills.

Magnificent, 360 degree views can be had from the top of Carningli.
