  • "Very cozy, yet spacious enough to spread out, with two distinct areas in the front room, a huge dining kitchen and a large conservatory looking out on the bird-filled garden."

Immaculately clean, with good quality newly installed bathrooms upstairs and down, and a great range of facilities. After a few metres of pavement and a road crossing there is a safe 15 minute walk down to a beautiful secluded beach, and a path goes straight up the back onto the hills. Shops and restaurants are 10 minutes drive away in either direction, with a garage/shop and great chippy a mile away in the village. It is right by the main road, but with good double glazing we didn't really notice this and we'd definitley go again, we loved the place. I'd recommending updating the location map for accuracy for this cluster of 3 properties to avoid confusion. Many thanks!

I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Meadowlands. We would love to welcome you back sometime in the future. Property Owner

  • "A lovely site in semi-rural conditions but with easy access to the nearest town, Fishguard."

The cottage was clean and ready for us. Our hosts, Alistair and Marion were delightful. They were ready to welcome us and even provided fresh broad beans for our first meal. They were readily available if we forgot the keys or needed any information. The local scenery is brilliant and beautiful and there are many things of interest for all the family. Overall we had a wonderful week at the cottage.

  • "We had a lovely time , the house is big with lots of space , a lovely bright on suite bathroom upstairs, the views from the back of the property are beautiful, the back garden with the stream and pond is lovely , we ate our breakfast out there every morning."

We found the house perfectly situated close to some stunning beaches , I recommend Cwm yr Eglwys this was perfect for our teenage daughter’s who paddle board . Newport is very close with some lovely restaurants, The Castle Inn was wonderful! Beautiful walks along the costal path . We walked to the nearest village, which has a local shop , petrol station and a fish and chip shop Pats Place very tasty ! The house was equipped with everything you needed , even cleaning products , the whole stay was very enjoyable. Sarah Clanfield

  • "Much is made about guests communicating with owners, but owners don’t reply."

We had some small niggles and emailed the owner but got no reply. En-suite poorly laid out the basin is ok if your under 5.5 foot tall (I know this can’t be changed) and no adjacent mirror for shaving. The light in the conservatory doesn’t work this was a problem as the conservatory is a great asset and we wanted to use it to play games but couldn’t as it grew darker. The cottage is well positioned for outings, shops, pub and chippie nearby. It is very well equipped with pots and crocks. Large fridge and freezer. Although it is a little dated it is nicely comfortable.

Sadly, we did not receive any communications during your stay and would have replied if given the opportunity. There is a light with a shaving point and a good mirror, about 4 feet from the sink in the en suit and similar in the bathroom downstairs with a mirror. Old cottages with sloping ceilings do provide challenges. The lamp bulb in the conservatory may have needed replacing during the week - supplies of bulbs are in the kitchen sink drawer. There are also several table lamps in the house that could have been redeployed. However, we are both pleased that you and your family found much to enjoy. The countryside and beaches are resplendent at this time of the year. Property Owner

  • "It would be useful to have a mirror on an arm over the sink for shaving in the en suite bedroom the mirror at the moment is o n the other side of the room!"

Also hooks in the unitily room for hanging coats. Could not work the television and BT box i n the lounge but as we are dinasaurs that could be us.

  • "The cottage was very well equipped and provided spacious, comfortable accommodation for four adults."

The utility room was useful, kitchen well equipped and bathrooms were clean, modern and spacious. The cottage was one of a group of four at the side of an A road but with open countryside at the rear. It was situated about 1.5 miles from the centre of the village which had two small supermarkets, a petrol station and two pub/restaurants (although one did not serve food during the Covid period and the other had limited opening hours). We enjoyed the proximity of two small local beaches (although not walkable because of traffic on the A road) and a choice of several lovely beaches within a few miles. Also, the Preseli Mountains provided some dramatic scenery. The whole area was superb and well worth visiting.

The property

Retaining some of its original features, parts of this traditionally furnished cottage are over 400 years old.

On the ground floor you will find the well equipped Kitchen/Dining area, which leads through to the large wooden conservatory, together with the bathroom, utility room and lounge. The second floor has an en-suite master bedroom with a king size bed, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The cottage sits in half an acre of grounds with a stream, a natural spring, an enclosed fish pond, woodland shrubbery and a grass lawn area.

The grounds also have a picnic table for enjoying an alfresco meal or a ‘Teddy bears Picnic’. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path can be joined nearby and a walk along it offers not only superb views but also the chance of spotting seals, birds, dolphins or porpoise.

A short drive from the property are the two coves of Pwll Gwaelod and Cwm yr Eglwys.

The public service bus and the local coastal bus can both be caught a short walk from the property.
