  • "We really enjoyed our stay here."

Spacious and very comfortable, more room than the photos show. Friendly owner who left us to it, but was close by if we needed any help which we didn't. A well thought out shared children's play area was a bonus. Beautiful coastal walks and beaches within a relatively short drive. Shops, including Tesco and Aldi, in Cardigan only 10 -15 minutes drive away.

  • "The property was clean and had all the necessary utensils you could need."

Some of the rooms have lowish ceilings or doorways so anyone over 5' 8" may need to duck. Beds were comfy and the hosts were friendly and on hand if you had any questions. We would have liked to be able to seat all 7 of us in the lounge but it didn't detract from our holiday - the kids just sat on the floor. The children loved the adventure playground and the sunflower fields. We were surprised and disappointed that there was no welcome pack (with tea/coffee/milk/sugar and perhaps some biscuits). All other holiday properties we have rented, have had this, and it is very welcome after a long journey. The property worked really well for our 3 generational family with lots of great indoor and outdoor space. Would recommend

  • "We had a great holiday and despite the changeable weather we enjoyed ourselves a lot."

The property was large and flexible and there was something for everyone there. It suited me just fine. The kitchen was fabulously well-equipped in terms of machinery and utensils and the dining room was just perfect for our large group dinners. It has to be said though that decor and furniture are basic - although not uncomfortable, and the infestation of meal worm beetles was fine by me but not so fine with some of my fellow guests! I'd definitely stay again.

From the Kitchen facilities through to the Drawing Rooms you want for nothing. The children's play area is fantastic, the fire pit area and the Frisbee Golf are all great. This is an Arable Farm, therefore very quite.

Thanks for your great feedback it’s great to see customers enjoying their holiday. Property Owner

  • "This is a uniquely beautiful, quirky traditional property."

It is perfect for large groups as there is so much room. The owners are lovely and very approacable. The children adored it , my six year old grandson did not want to leave. There is charecter in all of the rooms , which adds to its warmth. It is very comfortable , we loved having our meals together around the large kitchen table. The children were a little disappointed that the firepit and park were further down , from the photos they thought they were in the garden. However, that did not deter them from making use of them. The surrounding area is stunning and is a perfect base to explore. We couldnt get the television working , so a quick trip to town and numerous dvds later, we had something to entertain us if needed in the evening. We have just got home and we are missing it already, we would definately go back and would highly reccommend this property.

Thank you - as you say the farmhouse is very spacious and great for large families. Shame you never mentioned the tv - we realised when checking the batteries has been removed from the remote. There is so much to do in the area I don’t think we’ve seen it all and we live here! Property Owner

  • "I don’t even know where to start…we had such a wonderful time at The Farmhouse- in fact the children didn’t want to leave!"

The house itself was full of charm and met our needs brilliantly. The space outside was fantastic, a clearing to play football in, a park to climb in and a fire pit. The children also loved being with the ponies and horses and walking to the field to see the cows and their calves. There is plenty to do within 5/6 miles of the property, the shire horse farm, Iron Age village, local beaches, paddleboarding…and we could have easily stayed a few more days to do more. The owners were great, very informative and helpful, we had plenty to talk about and they very clearly take great pride in the properties. If you are looking for a rural break from busy city life then this ticks all the boxes! A countryside break at its finest. Thank you so much for helping us make amazing memories!

Thank you so much - we’re really pleased you enjoyed your stay lovely to meet you all, there is plenty to explore close by which is great keeping all ages happy! Property Owner

  • "This was a really charming place to stay, with the stables at your doorstep, waking up to the sound of birds chirping and seeing the horses/pony in the stable was just perfect for our family of young children who are growing in suburban area, it was the perfect retreat."

The location is perfect for accessing poppit sands beach and the drive from the farmhouse to the beach is picturesque. The farmhouse was clean and tidy, the only thing was the kitchen could do with a de-grease as the cupboards and hob did feel a bit sticky. Other than that it was a brilliant stay

So pleased you enjoyed your holiday - there are great places to visit all nearby . We are sorry you felt the kitchen was not quite right we will make sure the cleaners are extra careful there not to miss anything in future - if you had mentioned it we would have remedied it for you. • "We enjoyed our time at the farmhouse on a family holiday of 3 generations."

The play area was greatly enjoyed by the boys. The farmhouse is close to some lovely beaches which were a short drive away and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path walks that we did were very enjoyable. The farmhouse is very well equipped with plenty of cooking utensils and crockery for 8 people. The 2 living rooms also made it nice that the family could be together or do seperate things without any problem. Thank you very much.

So pleased you had a good time - like you said the farmhouse does work well for different generations. It’s still early in the year for the beach it’s great you made the most of the sunshine - there’s plenty to explore. Property Owner

House was lovley, everything you could need there, big spacious rooms and a cosy fire for the evenings, kids enjoyed running around exploring the house playing hide and seek in every corner! Saying hello to the horses in the nearby stable and farmer going by on the tractor. Beautiful scenery and great kids park. Fabulous owners! We all very much enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon.

So pleased to hear you enjoyed yourselves - we definitely saw the children making good use of the play area it was lovely to see them having fun. It is a good size house which works well for families . Hope to see you again . Property Owner

  • "Absolutely lovely farmhouse, property was really comfortable, spacious and had everything we needed for a weeks stay."

The owners were lovely when crossed paths but never felt overlooked. They were prompt in helping answer any questions and getting more wood for the fire. There’s lovely fields to walk around and a BIG play area for the kids. The house is in the perfect spot to visit the beaches and enjoy tiny towns and castles etc. Our children loved waking up to seeing the horse in its stable (a stones throw from the house). We will definitely be back and couldn’t recommend highly enough!

Thank you - lovely to hear you enjoyed so much - there’s lots to entertain all ages round and about - it sounds as though you explored. The farmhouse is lovely and cosy in the colder evenings - we think the log fire is amazing ! Property Owner

  • "Generally a comfortable property."

To improve it I would suggest flowers , milk and biscuits as a welcome gesture after a long drve. The farm had a sunflower field so an easy addition to make. There was only about a centimetre of washing up liquid and soap in dispensers, a bit meanl Also the hoover as full. A very old scourer was the only cleaning cloth! The owner did bring replacements the next day when asked? The outside dining space was disappointing, a bench and plastic chairs next t to a large metal barn. Hugh, his wife and daughter were very friendly and welcoming so hope these comments help to make the Farmhouse an excellent stay.

Thank you for your comments - as mentioned the scourer was replaced for you it’s a shame you didn’t mention the vacuum we could easily have sorted a new bag in it immediately - sorry you didn’t like our Wooden bench table and seats - so pleased you all enjoyed the sunflowers and the additional disc golf etc - it was lovely to meet you all Property Owner

  • "Fabulous spacious, old, stone house away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life."

We went with our daughter and grandchildren and there was plenty of parking for 2 cars. Within an hour of our arrival the owner had stopped by to check everything was okay and whenever he or his wife saw us around the farm they stopped for a chat however they weren’t intrusive. The children (9, 8 & 5) had a great time in the playhouse and in the play area and spent a great deal of time kicking a ball around or playing cricket in the designated field. The girls loved the horses and the sunflower field too. There was everything we needed in the house although a long handled broom would have been nice (it wasn’t a major problem that there wasn’t one). Outside in the pretty garden area we had our own washing line and barbecue and table and chairs. The weather was good so we ate outside for most of our meals although the dining table was more than big enough inside too. There are lovely beaches nearby and we spent a great day at the Dyfed Shire Horse centre where the children groomed the donkeys as well as making friends with the horses. One of the foals is named Samuel so we had to take photos of them with the foal to send to their Uncle Samuel! We were so comfortable in the house and slept so well that none of us wanted to pack up to come home, especially the children. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this family property which is better than the pictures show and exactly as described, however if you are desperate for a really good internet connection and phone signal this may not be for you. We found the phone signal was generally better outside (the property has very thick stone walls) and being isolated the internet was a bit hit and miss but good when it worked.

Thanks for your lovey comments So pleased you enjoyed yourselves -we also wish broadband and phone signal were better - we live in hope of an improvement soon!!! Property Owner

Plenty of space with choice of room, to have quiet time--So very peaceful and quiet. Loved waking up to birds singing, fresh air and now and then cows from neighbouring farms mooing. All the atmosphere you would expect from a vacation in the country. Linen crisp and fresh. Towels provided were good quality. Rachel, the owner, was lovely and apart from a warm greeting and good ideas and suggestions of places to go, we were left to our own devices which I liked, knowing that they lived a short walk away if we needed them. I would thoroughly recommend and have no doubts at all of returning. Thank you Rachel and Hugh for the weeks availability in your Farmhouse.

  • "The farmhouse is an old building with some modernisation inside."

The kitchen is large and has all modern facilities. The dining room is also large and comfortable. This leads to the older part of the building which has a series of low doorways - be carful if you are tall! The older part could do with a refresh as showning signs of wear and tear. The farmhouse is in a very nice quiet location and access is down single lane roads. There is a Tesco within 15mins drive which is very handy. Overall I would recommend this place.

Thank you for your feedback, we are so glad you enjoyed your holiday. We would like to re assure you that the decor is refreshed each year, carpets etc regularly cleaned - however as you pointed out the front of the house is older - 18th century, with thick stone walls, beams and lower ceilings and lots of original features - which are part of its uniqueness - so it can seem darker and less modernised. Lovely place to stay in a beautiful, quiet location. The kids loved going to the playground to climb and go on the swings. Great location close to some lovely beaches and the parks near Tenby are only an hour away. We went with our two kids (1.5yo and 3.5yo) to Folly Farm and Dinosaur Park and were very impressed with both - lots to do and see, immaculately well kept and no real hidden costs. We took picnics both times so can’t comment on the food there. The Farmhouse was a great base for a great family holiday especially with the great weather we had all week!

So pleased you enjoyed your visit to Pembrokeshire and your stay in the farmhouse. The woodland play area is a great hit with kids, all our younger guests enjoy it! Property Owner

  • "AMAZING ! We loved the farmhouse and it was just what we needed as a break."

The farmhouse was in the middle of nowhere, so quiet and peaceful. The house was more than adequate for our needs and plenty of space for our granddaughter both inside and out. The horses in the fields were great characters and the owner’s daughter took us into the stables one evening after she’d put them in for the night and talked us through them all. The owners Hugh & Rachel were friendly and accessible if we needed them. Rachel talked us through the farm including the pumpkins and the sunflowers, they truly are lovely people. As the farmhouse is so remote, the whole party slept so well, averaging between 10 and 12 hours a night. Can’t wait to return again, just to unwind.

We are in a rural location, as you realise it’s not very far to the coast, beaches - the best of both. The sunflower and wildflower meadow were fabulous it was lovely to be able offer these for guests to enjoy Property Owner

  • "From the description and the photographs I expected this place to be a bit more homely."

It was a very old farmhouse and had plenty of character and it probably would have been okay if there were less of us. As there was six adults and a two year old we needed decent Wi-Fi as the telephone signal was really poor. We also would have liked a bit more interaction with the hosts as to explaining the area and the fact that on our last day the electricity was off for some planned work and nobody told us! This was very inconvenient as our two year old was unwell and we would have liked to have had a day inside. Also as the Farmhouse is on a working farm it was impossible to sit directly outside to have breakfast etc as the smell was so bad. None of this was mentioned in the listing and I feel this should have been.

Unfortunately, the wi-fi signal and its speed are out of our hands and we are unable to receive super-fast broadband at this property. Due to the thick walls of The Farmhouse, we do advise guests that the best place in the property to receive a wi-fi signal is in the TV lounge. Mobile phone signals in this area do vary between providers and again, it is not something we have control over. We can only apologise for the inconvenience of the electricity being off on the Friday morning - it was planned work by the electricity company replacing poles, and completely beyond our control – you were advised of this. Our farm is arable, but when staying in the countryside there are often some unfamiliar smells and last week the neighbouring farmer was spreading muck for one day. Depending which way the wind blows we do sometimes have to live with this. It is a shame that these inconveniences disappointed you - as you say it is an old house with lots of character and space, both inside and out. Property Owner
