The property

At the foot of Parrog Road, Newport, Pembrokeshire, The Retreat is within 200 yards of Parrog beach.

It is a simple, no frills property, yet a great base for exploring the surrounding areas.

Entrance to the property is through a large porch that is a great space for all those wet and muddy boots or surf boards and wet suits.

From the porch you will arrive at the basic yet clean kitchen/dining area and to the rear of the kitchen/dining area is the utility and shower room.

To the right of the kitchen you fill find the spacious sitting room with an inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove.

There is also a spiral staircase that accesses the first floor.

On the first floor you will find the master bedroom with a double bed and sea views, a twin bedroom and a bedroom with a child’s handmade cabin bed.

At the rear of the property, accessed via the utility room, is a small fully enclosed patio area and to the side of the property is a small secluded area with two benches.

Within a short walk of the property you will come to the heart of Newport with its fabulous selection of pubs, shops, galleries and restaurants.

If you follow the estuary walk it will bring you to the iron bridge and across the estuary to Newport Sands.

Many wildlife photographers enjoy this area, as the walks are stunning and you never know what wildlife you will see.

Newport is a beautiful coastal town in Pembrokeshire, south west Wales lying on the River Nevern with a selection of shops, pubs, tea rooms, plus an excellent golf course overlooking the sea as well as a lovely sheltered harbour. Newport lies on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path which is renowned worldwide for its unique landscape and wonderful opportunities to go dolphin and seal spotting. Wonderful coastal walks along the path or in the nearby Preseli Hills with the ever changing scenery are a walkers dream all year round. Learn about history when you visit the mills, craft centres and castles dotted around the county or spend a day at the wonderful Castell Henllys Iron Age Fort where you can learn hands on all about living during that time. See the majestic Shire Horses at the Shire Horse Farm or spend relaxing days on the huge choice of beautiful sandy beaches. All year round this is a perfect location for all the family.
