“This is the second time I've stayed at the School House and I'll certainly go back again.”

I love the open plan living area and the size of the rooms and it's just a gorgeous space to be in. It's close (a short drive) from the country park and Pembrey beach is my favourite place to be in the world! Miles and miles of dog friendly walks on the beach and in the woods. It's just heaven. If I had just a couple of niggles, it's that you have to watch the dogs in the garden. There's a low wall and no gate so they can't be out there unsupervised. If I had just a couple of niggles, it's that you have to watch the dogs in the garden. There's a low wall and no gate so they can't be out there unsupervised. Also, this time around, the kitchen wasn't as well stocked - there were no wine glasses and no tin opener which made it hard to get into my tuna! Minor niggles though - lovely, lovely holiday again and the weather was just beautiful. Don't believe the doubters who say it always rains in Wales. Go in September/October and you'll get lucky with the weather. Thank you!

The property

This well-presented, semi-detached former school house has been tastefully converted into a wonderful, spacious holiday home, situated in the village of Pembrey, close to Pembrey Sands and a short drive from the Gower Peninsula and popular sporting venues, such as Ffos Las.

Offering upside down accommodation, this delightful cottage is a perfect base for families and friends looking to explore this part of Wales.

Boasting far-reaching views of the village and Gower Peninsula, on the first floor of this superb holiday home is an open plan living area with A-frame beams, a well-equipped kitchen with centre island, a split-level dining area and a sitting area with balcony.

At the end of the day, there’s no better place then to sit on the balcony with a glass of wine whilst admiring the panoramic views.

On the ground floor are the bedrooms, which offer flexible sleeping arrangements, with one boasting French doors that open out onto the garden, and also on this floor is a shower room and utility area.

Outside there is a lovely tiered lawned garden, where you may wish to enjoy an alfresco meal, or even a morning coffee whilst you ponder your day ahead.

The popular village of Pembrey offers pubs and a shop, both of which are within a short walk, so why not stock up on essentials, or enjoy a drink before venturing back to your welcoming cottage.

The village is ideally placed for exploring the stunning Gower Peninsula, as well as the Pembrey Country Park, from where miles of sandy beaches and acres of forestry can be explored.

You’re just over half an hour away from diverse landscapes of the sandy beaches of Pembrokeshire and the Brecon Beacons in Mid Wales, plus the whole area is bordered with the Millennium Coastal Path, which opens up numerous outdoor activities for visitors to enjoy.

An excellent converted house, perfectly situated for enjoying the local sandy beaches and the Gower Peninsula.
