  • "Good points:- Size & Location excellent Fairly quiet (aside of TV volume at night in lounge under bedroom 3) Bad points:- Shower head needs bleaching (no excuse for mold and grime) No wardrobe or clothes storage in 4ft bedroom - had to live out of case Thin quilts in all rooms, albeit okay once heating warmed up."

Radiators need full flush and bleed (I did this in 2 rooms to get them warm but 1 rad is blocked in hallway and lounge). So limited heat in bedrooms. Minor mold in twin bedroom east to bleach on wall at least. Questionable elec safety in all rooms with double extension leads. Limited internet in bedrooms (again the old extender wasnt working - had been setup on old router and failed, I reset this and configured correctly to it's usable upstairs now at 4Mb max). The extender is very old and should be replaced with a BT WholeHomeWifi disc. Living room floor very slippy, suggest sanding or alternative wax. Dump all the dead/dry flowers - dont look good or do any justice. Plug in elec backup heater appeared not to be working on lounge. Easy to clean off mold on lounge shutters - looks better. As others said one or two of the mattresses are very firm. Broken iron switch - replace no excuse. A clock would be a bonus in lounge. Limited pots/pans and utensils although previous comments do say all basic. Proper scissors and other bits should be reviewed. Only one shelf in oven - really annoying easy to sort 2. Bowel in sink cheap and easy to sort. Lack of bins inside property. Dirt under sofas (probably best not to move them!) Kitchen table not ideally located for a family. *** URGENT FIX*** and finally probably the worst was the broken fridge. This froze all our fridge food twice cost us £60 as the stat is broken, No response from owner (knocked on door), or the phone, or email to Sykes. Disappointing we had to leave 48hrs early due to this. No caretaker number to call 24hrs so left a note. This could be a really good property with just half a days works and issues sorted which is a real shame, minimal investment to sort out. Maybe a new property but clearly bits overlooked.

  • "Very friendly owners ready to meet problems that arose (ie central heating not working - and it was cold the first night!"

!) Property comfortable and adequate for holiday needs. A hanging facility for clothes in the one bedroom would have helped a lot.

  • "Fantastic base to go to our favourite spots in Pembrokeshire."

Weather wasn’t great this summer so we were very thankful to be in the spacious cottage. Only thing would say is that a guest book would be good to see where people who have visited recommended. And more utensils for a family of 5.

  • "Peaceful place to stay everything you need and good base to go travelling to different places."

Would go back for a longer stay.

  • "An absolute gem (especially for the price!"

). Although we found it a little difficult to find it was worth it. Attached to the owners house which used to be the Old Rectory for the church across the road the accommodation is extremely spacious. Here is an enclosed field and garden for the dog. Pendines stretch of unspoilt beach is five minutes by car (roads are narrow & winding and not really built for pedestrians). Saundersfoot and Tenby 25 mins away. St David's is also worth a visit....so ideally situated. Clean and comfortable and private even from the owners! Could not recommend it enough!

  • "Beautiful house in a peaceful location opposite an ancient church."

The moon was up most nights giving the land a beautiful ethereal feel. The house is lovely and cool in hot weather but has such a warm atmosphere to it. Beautiful garden with birdsong everywhere, loved watching the swallows, loads of wildlife about - glimpsed a hare in the adjoining field - absolutely idyllic. Had everything we needed for a well needed rest.

  • "This is a wonderful location to explore from and the owner, who lives next door is friendly and very helpful."

The property itself has all you need for your stay but could do with a little tlc to cure loose creaking floorboards, loose door handle. Better located electric sockets would also do away with the trailing electrical extension leads. We loved it and would go again

  • "Whilst we had a lovely stay the living room was quite cold, even with the fire lit."

Maybe you could put some blankets/throws in the room. The rest of the house was lovely and warm

  • "Gymmin House is a lovely cottage."

The beach was nearby and lots of places to visit. The only let down was the main bedroom mattress which was bench hard. We ended up buying an air mattress for the rest of our stay, which was an extra cost.

  • "The property was well located near to major roads and the beach and had good parking."

It was very spacious and comfortable and our dog enjoyed the garden. The kitchen was well equipped and it was nice to have a seperate utility area for our coats and boots and a washing machine. The owner is polite and does not bother you. We would have liked more information about local attractions and places to visit. There was an information sheet in the kitchen and a few leaflets in the lounge (for places further afield) but no visitors book or recommendations.

  • "Lovely stay."

well equipped kitchen and lots of space. a great garden which our dog enjoyed which overlooked the church and hills. Hardly a sound except the wildlife. The owner is really lovely who lives next door but leaves you to yourselves. We stayed in September and enjoyed swallows during the day and at night a Tawny Owl. It was a very peaceful holiday with wonderful countryside and beaches

  • "We had a Fantastic time, the house is lovely, well equipped & a great base for going exploring."

The only problem we found was, it went too quickly & we had to come home. The owner was lovely, very welcoming & barely saw her. Would definitely recommend & we hope to visit again.

About the location

PENDINE

Tenby 15 miles.

A delightful seaside village with a seven mile stretch of sandy beach, famous in its history for car racing and speed record attempts. The fateful car ‘Babs’, the driver of which was killed in one of the many speed record attempts, was buried in the sands for many years, but has now been dug up, restored and is often in the local museum for all to admire. Even the famous Amy Johnson used these perfect flat sands to take off on one of her many record flights. Steeped in history, these sands are perfect all year round, whether sunbathing, swimming and kite flying. With local pubs and restaurants serving good food, a café, a grocery shop and gift shops, Pendine is the perfect seaside village. Pendine is also home to the recently built Land of Speeds MUseum, which can be found on Pendine Promenade; the land speed record was actually broken on Pendine's beach, too! Nearby, the attractions range from Dylan Thomas' famous boathouse, where he penned so many of his literary masterpieces, castles, more sandy beaches, hidden coves and the vibrant seaside resort of Tenby, with Caldey Island and the majestic monastery a short boat trip away. A stunning location for exploring this beautiful part of Wales.
