  • "Had a lovely stay at bayside a fantastic location and a lovely property, we did have a few problems with the oil fired heating but the owners were prompt to respond with the engineer even visiting on Bank Holiday Monday."

Wasn’t 100% clear where we could park a map would be useful. Nobody was in the other caravans when we stayed and not sure it would have been as nice if there had been. The property could do with some updating door lock on the main door, handrails, flooring, drainage in the shower and to be honest it isn’t perfect but it is perfectly serviceable and you can over look this for the very reasonable price. The only other bits I’d suggest would be to have some sharp knives, a general tidy up of the garden, would love to see a BBQ! Hope that helps

  • "Excellent big house."

Enough space for 12 people. Only slight downside not enough bins.

  • "A superb property which couldn't be better placed for access to the wonderful beach at Pendine."

Very spacious (plenty of room for our 3 family groups) and well appointed, and within a stone's throw of lovely ice cream shops and cafes. We had a great week and will certainly be back again - very highly recommended!

  • "Having access at 6pm was appalling."

With 3 tired, special needs children who could not understand why we were hanging around instead of getting dinner ready is not to be repeated. Every other accommodation we have used during the Covid period the access time was 4pm. The house was really great and ideally situated.

We had a lovely time. (Doesn’t provide towels so make sure you bring your own).

  • "The property has capacity of 10 – 12 persons and we coped very well although accumulated rubbish (bottles and food wrappers etc) become a slight eyesore as there was a small dustbin which was insufficient for our group."

An extra bathroom would also be a positive move. Externally there is a need for decorating.

  • "We had a great stay, location was excellent, house was lovely."

Plenty of room. The only problem we’re the mattresses, very hard and lumpy. Could put up with it for a weekend but not a week, which is a shame as would love a week there.

  • "The holiday at Pendine was great."

Bayside was ideal , couldn't have been closer to the sea without being in it. The property is huge so there was plenty of room for us all. Bayside is well equipped , so there was never a time that we did not have what we needed. The only problem was that the facilities for rubbish disposal are very limited. We were only a party of seven and Bayside can cater for twice that. We were able to use the glass recycle point near the property but the other rubbish soon built up with only one dustbin that was overflowing. If there are alternative facilities they need to be made clearer. There was a note inside the property that rubbish could be taken home. Not a very practical comment as most families have their cars full when going on holiday and certainly do not have space for rubbish on their return journey. Not very pleasant driving 200-300 miles with a bag of festering potato peelings on your lap.

  • "We had a lovely holiday here."

Great location right on the beach. Nice to have a big communal area for the lounge/dining room/kitchen. Especially when we had rainy days inside what watching the storms over the sea! Helpful welcome folders with useful information and contact details. We had something break in the one bathroom whilst we were there and the caretakers were very prompt in solving the problem, without causing disruption to our holiday. We would love to come back. Thank you.

The property

Right on the beach front in Pendine, Carmarthenshire, this large property offers plenty of living space and fabulous sea views from almost all the rooms.

The owners' great grandfather fell in love with Pendine when he was commissioned to build the sea wall. Pendine Sands is a 7 miles stretch of flat sand famous for world land speed records, including Sir Malcom Campbell in 1924 with Bluebird and Idris Elba’s flying mile in a Bentley Continental in 2015. Of course events like this don’t happen every day and it’s a beautiful beach for relaxing or walking whatever the weather or time of year.

Pendine itself has a few shops (some are seasonal), as well as a welcoming pub and restaurant. Carmarthen, Laugharne, Saundersfoot and Tenby are all within a half hour drive.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £400.

About the location

PENDINE

Tenby 15 miles.

A delightful seaside village with a seven mile stretch of sandy beach, famous in its history for car racing and speed record attempts. The fateful car ‘Babs’, the driver of which was killed in one of the many speed record attempts, was buried in the sands for many years, but has now been dug up, restored and is often in the local museum for all to admire. Even the famous Amy Johnson used these perfect flat sands to take off on one of her many record flights. Steeped in history, these sands are perfect all year round, whether sunbathing, swimming and kite flying. With local pubs and restaurants serving good food, a café, a grocery shop and gift shops, Pendine is the perfect seaside village. Pendine is also home to the recently built Land of Speeds MUseum, which can be found on Pendine Promenade; the land speed record was actually broken on Pendine's beach, too! Nearby, the attractions range from Dylan Thomas' famous boathouse, where he penned so many of his literary masterpieces, castles, more sandy beaches, hidden coves and the vibrant seaside resort of Tenby, with Caldey Island and the majestic monastery a short boat trip away. A stunning location for exploring this beautiful part of Wales.
