  • "The cottage is very comfortable, clean and has everything you need."

It also has a private sunny patio with a BBQ to use. Graham and Mona were excellent hosts and a gold mine of useful local knowledge. There are two small convenience stores in Pendine walking to them is a bit of a challenge though as the the hill is 20% in places. However if you can make it down the hill, and back up, there is an excellent Chinese restaurant and a good chippy.

Hosts were perfect would definitely go again!

  • "A lovely quiet dog friendy holiday location at the top of Pendine Hill, which is away from the caravan sites at the beach front which can get a bit crowded when it's busy."

The hilll is 20% in places so if mobility is a consideration, this might impact on it. However, if walking and backpacking or cycling is your thing it's ideally positioned in easy access to walks and rides. The owners live on site in their own home and couldn't be more accomodating or friendly. We were given produce from their vegetable garden and valuable information about local tide times. The accomodationn was immaculate and easily catered for a family of four (two large teens) and a dog. The enclosed patio area catches the sun most of the day so if you don't want to venture out, it's a very relaxing place to just sit there and relax. The four of us had a very happy and peaceful week here.

  • "The bungalow was spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen (though the induction cooker took some getting used to)."

Nice bathroom with excellent shower. All a family of 4 could want and Mona and Graham the hosts couldn't be more welcoming. The only thing to mention is that the property is above Pendine and walking up the hill to the property is not for the faint hearted!!

The owners Mona and Graham lived next door such a lovely couple, very friendly but not intrusive made our stay even more enjoyable would definitely return. Lovely beach for walking the dog.

  • "A lovely stay."

G and M could not be more welcoming and helpful, yet not intrusive. My son and daughter loved listening to Grahams stories. I echo what others have said in their feedback. Pendine is an excellent base to explore Pembrokeshire whist also offering everything you need for a beach break in itself. Freshwater East and Barafundle were our favourites. Tenby is a busier option.

Private and so quiet. Location was perfect for us travelling around West Wales. Many thanks to you both

Mona & Graham are so friendly informative and welcoming. The property write up in understated as it was immaculate, beautiful and spacious and the secluded garden was a welcome sun trap.

Only improvement ,to help us, would have been a small grass area in back garden as our dog does not like slabbed areas. Everything else was great.

  • "Ty'r Ardd is a really lovely holiday cottage in Pendine."

Spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Everything you need in an ideal base for exploring south west Wales. A private courtyard garden with beautiful flower pots to the rear of the property as well as access to a pretty lawn and floral garden to the front. Mona and Graham were really friendly and extremely helpful and generous. Amazing home grown tomatoes and green beans plus great suggestions for local walks and places of interest to visit. Watching the Spring Tide down at Pendine was a particular favorite with the kids. After a long lockdown this was just the tonic that we all needed and staying at Ty'r Ardd was an absolute pleasure.

owners live adjacent to the property, but unless you needed to see them, you wouldnt. Private secluded patio with garden furniture , and chimenea. On hearing it was our wedding anniversary, Mona and Graham, the very helpful owners gave us a little something to help us celebrate. Their attention to detail was very refreshing. We would definitely stay again if going to west Wales

  • "A lovely week away in Pembrokeshire, weather was kind, despite several storms."

'Cottage' was everything we needed, very clean, modern 'country' kitchen and great bathroom with large shower. Great location for exploring the surrounding area. Welcoming hosts (Mona and Graham), who were very accommodating if we needed anything extra. Thank you for the Welsh cakes and milk on arrival for a welcome cup of tea.

  • "Really well appointed, comfortable accommodation."

The hosts Graham and Mona were delightful, very welcoming and anxious to ensure that our holiday experience lived up to expectations which it did. The location is very good with the bus stop to Carmarthen, Saundersfoot and Tenby just 50 yards away, ideal for those who want to explore and not have to drive everywhere. The wonderful golden sandy Pendine beach is 5 minutes by car or bus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, as did Angus our 15 month Cocker Spaniel! We would certainly recommend Ty'r Ardd to anyone holidaying in the area.

  • "A big "thank you" to hosts Graham and Mona for their much appreciated hospitality and helpfulness."

From the complimentary pint of milk (nothing like an immediate cup of tea after a long journey) to the bag of surplus cooking apples as we left (all now converted to apple sauce and frozen in containers - Thank you), everything was in place for a relaxing and enjoyable week's holiday. We had come down in order to support our son who was competing in Wales Ironman so this location provided the perfect base for the journey to Tenby and then for several challenging coastal walks (some by just walking out of the door) in the following days. As with all Syke's holiday cottages, the pricing structure doesn't really work for the 2 / 3 days' break - but if you are staying for a week, you will struggle to get better value for money or a more comfortable stay for your money - we certainly hope to be back!

The outside secluded relaxing area was most welcome to sit out and enjoy the sunshine and sheltered from any wind. A lovely base to enjoy the beautiful beaches the area has to offer. We will definitely book again in the future. "Thank you Mona and Graham".

About the location

PENDINE

Tenby 15 miles.

A delightful seaside village with a seven mile stretch of sandy beach, famous in its history for car racing and speed record attempts. The fateful car ‘Babs’, the driver of which was killed in one of the many speed record attempts, was buried in the sands for many years, but has now been dug up, restored and is often in the local museum for all to admire. Even the famous Amy Johnson used these perfect flat sands to take off on one of her many record flights. Steeped in history, these sands are perfect all year round, whether sunbathing, swimming and kite flying. With local pubs and restaurants serving good food, a café, a grocery shop and gift shops, Pendine is the perfect seaside village. Nearby, the attractions range from Dylan Thomas' famous boathouse, where he penned so many of his literary masterpieces, castles, more sandy beaches, hidden coves and the vibrant seaside resort of Tenby, with Caldey Island and the majestic monastery a short boat trip away. A stunning location for exploring this beautiful part of Wales.
