  • "Cottage ok."

Only one entrance which is a fair distance from car parking so difficult with luggage. Four steps down from parking. Three slate steps into cottage. Beds comfortable. Kitchen tiny. Track leading to cottage, terrible. Very remote

We are sorry that the guests did not enjoy their stay. We would respectfully point out that the distance from the car park to the front door is 19m and three separate households use the track, daily, without issue. The low gradings are, fortunately very much in contrast with others spanning over the last 10 years. Property Owner

The cottage was lovely and had everything and more than we needed. The enclosed garden was brilliant for our young boys. The location was beautiful and a great base to explore lots of different areas.

  • "Your external description of the property is not accurate."

It mentioned two doors and said one had two steps. Honeysuckle Cottage has one door and it has three steps to gain access and in addition there are four more steps to negotiate before you get to the steps at the door. I accept that your description mentioned an unmade road but this was longer than expected. The cottage is comfortable and the owners were helpful when we had a problem with the car.

Clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The owners, Ian & Carol, proved to be great hosts and are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to what's on offer in North Pembrokeshire. Would definitely be happy to stay in either of the two cottages when next in the area. Thank you.

  • "What a fabulous cottage, it was a beautiful part of the country but within a few miles you were in the main towns of Newport beach, Old Fishguard & ST."

David's market town & Cathedral. But if your into walking across the countryside then this is the place for you with the help of the owners Ian & Carol who will give you guided tours of the area. May I also say how nice and friendly they were and nothing was too much trouble if needed. Hopefully we'll be back very soon so many thanks for the great holiday we had in your first class cottage.

  • "We had a great week in Honeysuckle."

The cottage is spotlessly clean and very warm and cosy. The double bedroom and ensuite shower room are light and airy. The bed, albeit low and only a standard double size, was comfy and we slept well. The kitchen was ever so small, am sure for doing a light lunch or heating up a microwave meal it would be fine. Cooking 'proper' meals proved problematic and we had to get creative with the tiny space. If the door was removed it would certainly help but that may not adhere to fire regs. The owners were welcoming and living next door was reassuring if anything was needed, though they have produced an excellent and comprehensive folder with everything you need to know re equipment etc in the cottage. They also kindly accepted an urgent parcel delivery for us prior to our arrival. I had checked through Sykes prior to booking that there was a clothes line at the property, but there wasn't one with dedicated use, again the owners kindly let us use theirs. There is plenty of room in the garden at the cottage to put one, maybe that could be an easily made addition. We can certainly recommend Honeysuckle as a good base from which to explore the many delights of Pembrokeshire.

Many thanks for your feedback. We agree that the kitchen is small and because of that, we have carefully considered its best configuration and content. We are confident that guests have always been able to produce full meals from it. Property Owner

  • "Its a lovely cottage locate in the beautiful Gwaun valley."

It is a tranquil part of the world with easy access to seaside and rural walks. There are some lovely walks start right from the doorstep. We enjoyed the walks and the beautiful Pembrokeshire seaside on offer. We loved the Blue lagoon beach in Abereiddy, New Gale beach and Broadhaven beach. Ian and Carol were wonderful and caring hosts. They have a wealth of information about the area. Generally the area is a heaven for ice cream lovers as there are several locally made icecream shops around. There are supermarkets in Cardigan and Haverfordwest. The cottages are within delivery area of some supermarkets. We would definitely recommend this cottage and will come back in future.

  • "This was a lovely location, very quiet."

The only downside was the very small kitchen, hence my feedback ratings. This area could have been greatly improved by removing the door to the kitchen area allowing full access to the fridge and work surfaces beyond the immediate kitchen.

Thank you for your feedback. While the kitchen is physically small, we have worked hard to ensure that it is well stocked with the necessary equipment: gas cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave etc and we have extended the worktop areas. Thus kitchen facilities are often noted as a positive aspect of the cottage. Local area fire service advice is to NOT remove the kitchen door as it provides a barrier to the spread of any fire. • "Honeysuckle Cottage was set in a lovely tranquil location in the middle of breathtaking countryside."

Ian and Carol were excellent hosts who made us feel very welcome from the outset and have provided excellent facilities and were incredibly accommodating. I had an unfortunately incident with my car which decided it was the time to break a rear spring. This had the potential to end the holiday happening fairly early in the week. Ian and Carol recommended a local garage who did a perfect job, and supported me above and beyond expectations in making sure we got the the whale and seal watching boat trip the following day, and kindly gave me a lift to pick up the car when it was (thankfully) rapidly repaired. We can't speak highly enough of Ian and Carol, and would love to come again when we can, particularly to enjoy some hill and mountain walking which wasn't so easy with a pre-teenager in tow! Thank you so much once again! David and Zach

  • "We stayed with our children who are 2 and 6 for a fortnight and it was perfect."

They loved the shared garden and spotting the cattle, sheep and tractor around the cottages. The drying room was brilliant for drying wet walking and beach gear. Carole and Ian also kindly provided a washing basket and use of their washing line and pegs (there was also a clothes maiden in the cottage). I was a little apprehensive about the kitchen which was small but this contained all the utensils you’d need and more. We self-catered most nights and had everything we needed. The cottage was cosy and warm with limitless hot water and decent showers- perfect after a day of walking or beaching. We loved the map room which contained a comprehensive selection of maps, leaflets, books and magazines. Marked-up OS maps for use during the stay were also really handy. Ian and Carole were also able to give lots of I deas and information about things to do in the area. They were welcoming without being overfacing. The countryside around the cottage is beautiful with lots of walks from the house or a short drive away whilst lots of beautiful beaches and coastline is also close by. You will need a vehicle to stay here. I can’t recommend this cottage enough! Thanks to Ian and Carole for your hospitality.

Set in peaceful North Pembrokeshire countryside, above the Gwaun Valley, in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park and the foothills of the rolling Preseli Mountains, with their cultural and historic mysticism, the cottages offer great views and the chance to sit outside and soak them all up while watching the birds soar overhead and listening to the lambs in the fields. These are delightful stone cottages with walks from the door, perfectly located to enjoy this beautiful part of Wales with its extraordinarily rich wildlife, flora and fauna. Both cottages offer accommodation for four and each has two en-suite bedrooms, character beams and extremely comfortable accommodation, as well as a wonderful shared ‘planning and map room’ to plan your walks in. There is also a private drying room for outdoor clothing and walking boots. Remember too, the owner offers to guests discounted and exclusive guided walks, sightseeing days out and a great package of instructional modules to improve your safety and competence while out walking. The owners also offer free use of OS maps and local reference books and provide free advice on what to see and do in the local area. Located in such a scenic spot, you may wish to spend some of your holiday simply relaxing right here in these cosy cottages, but short drives offer ancient woodlands, the historic Castell Henllys Iron Age Fort, estuaries teaming with seabirds and the wonderful Shire Horse farm to see these superb animals at work. There are also walks on the stunning coastline, sandy beaches, boat trips and historic castles, as well as superb walks in the mystical Preseli Hills where time seems to stand still and which can be reached on foot from the cottages.
