  • "Had a lovely week at Lakelands, it was a beautiful property with plenty of space for us all."

Owner was helpful and responsive over issue with Wifi which was outside her control. Ideal for the dog with a large secure garden, and Pembrey Country Park only 2 miles away for beach and forest walks.

  • "Lakelands has many pros, large rooms comfortable beds well stocked kitchen lovely enclosed garden which our dog enjoyed."

Cons, no hot water in kitchen or bathroom sinks unless the taps are run for a long time therefore wasting water , saucepans past use by date one with holes in the bottom of it . Bath is deep and has no grab rails. The things that bothered us the most was the road noise throughout the day and night and the trains 6 of them before 7 am each day and many during the night. Very loud traffic noise most of the night as well .

  • "Great stay at Lakelands again after being there couple of years back."

Property was spotless on arrival and just as good as we remembered. Welcome package a nice touch too. Only slight gripe is water pressure in the shower, but everything else fantastic and dogs loved the garden. Weather not brilliant but lots to do at the Country Park down the road for the kids.

  • "This property is an excellent base for a holiday."

Large and practical. Extras include the car port for loading & unloading in the rain, the shed to store bikes safely. The large garden is dog safe and the ability to walk round the fields is a bonus. Bring wellies or walking boots as the field grass is long and wet. The only downside in the location is that the road is noisy in the morning and you can hear the freight trains at night, if like me you sleep with a window open. Coop in Kidwelly is large has lots of parking and open til 10pm so easy to obtain stores. Lots of nice places to eat in the area and to explore.

Such lovely owners too, who left a lovely lemon drizzle cake, milk, Welsh cakes and other essentials for our arrival. Highly recommended! p.s. book for Sunday lunch at the Pembrey Country Inn, its fantastic! We went back on a Friday night too and it was great both times.

The owner was lovely and full of information about the area. We also reported that the toaster was broken and within the hour she came round with a new one. Also one of the very few owners that didn't put up her prices due to covid. We'll done Vanessa and thank you for a great stay. I would highly recommend.

The dogs loved the secure garden and given one of the dogs gives Houdini a run for his money, it was a relief to know he couldn't get out. The location is fabulous, we visited the country park, Camarthan, Narberth and St.Davids and would have done more but for how relaxing it was to sit outside in the sunshine with a glass of wine! Vanessa was so helpful and the milk, wine and cake was a lovely touch. Highly recommended.

Fully enclosed front & back gardens, safe for the dogs to run free. Vanessa (owner) was available at the end of the phone if there was any problems ( of which there wasn't). Sent us information about the area and direction for amenities before the holiday. Could not fault our holiday at Lakelands.

It was very clean and very well looked after. The garden was big and fenced in so we did not have to worry that our dog would escape. The owner was super friendly and helped us when we had questions. She made us feel welcome and clearly cares that her guests have a nice experience. The location if the cottage could also not have been better. We were right in the middle of all the attractions that we wanted to see. Overall we had a fantastic experience and would recommend both the cottage as well as Sykes Cottages to our friends.

Back garden is brilliant for wildlife - lots of birds, bats, frogs and hedgehogs, the garden is also amazing for stargazing. The owner of cottage is really friendly and helpful too. Property is great if you have restricted mobility like me.The only bad point are the beds, they are extremely hard and uncomfortable, both me and my husband struggled for the whole time we were there on them, we only got around 2-3 hours a night sleep on them, which does actually put us off going back which we don't want to happen as the property and area is perfect in every other way. Local attractions are all brilliant, we did not have a single bad day out. Everywhere is extremely dog friendly and local people are fantastic.

Vanessa was super friendly and very informative and helpful. The location is great as its really easy to get to lots of beaches and shops, the pond is a lake which is really big but its just a pity its very overgrown. We had a lovely week in the cottage and will certainly return but we will take our mattress toppers as we found the beds to firm for us but don't let that put you off, it would have been nice if one of the mattress's was softer so we had a choice but it didn't spoil our holiday, Our dogs loved the garden which was very secure so we didn't have to be out there with them, they were both very sad to leave.

We had some fabulous walks on the beach and cycle rides in the country park, and really enjoyed visiting Kidwelly Castle. We had one rainy day, when we stayed in and played games and watched DVDs at the house. We really liked the fact that these were thoughtfully provided. Looking forward to returning during the Summer months to take advantage of the walks and wildlife on the property. We saw the swans on the lake and a couple of moles in the garden along with seasonal birds. Our dog enjoyed the enclosed garden and the freedom it gave him. Our teenage son loved the pool table. The property is very comfortable and airy. There is plenty of space with good storage. The car port was ideal with the hot weather we had, as it kept the car cool. There is plenty to do. The nearby country park is worth a visit £5 for the day or £2 after 4. The beach is beautiful 8 miles long. Car park 1 provides access to the dog friendly area. Nearby Kidwelly castle is a nice family outing even our 15 year old enjoyed it as you can explore the castle. Nearby Llanelli has all the big name stores for all your shopping needs. Llanelli also has a coastal walk which is wheelchair friendly. We will be back as we loved the property not only for the comfort and quality but it's location.

  • "What a fantastic host the owner is ,we received an email from her thanking us for booking and asking us if we had any requirements ,she also asked us to call her when we were about half an hour away as although the house is just off a main road it would be so easy to miss."

The owner and her daughter met us with such a friendly welcome we felt like we had known her for years. She guided us to the house and had a lovely welcome pack for us consisting of wine ,box of tea bags ,coffee ,sugar various biscuits Welsh cakes and a pint of milk. She briefly explained what was about locally ,some helpful advice ,she then added that if we had any questions or needed anything not to hesitate to get in touch. The cottage was lovely ,we have two German shepherds and they loved the space and believe me there is a lot of secure space for dogs. The scenery is to die for ,beautiful. The cottage is well equipped. The local farm shop (5 mins away) is dog friendly and serves lovely food. We also dined in a small Jamaican restaurant called the Reef in Carmarthen which served great food. The local country park charges £5.00 for all day parking but is well worth it ,it is beautiful and also has 8 miles of sandy beaches but I would advise taking a picnic as the food there was overpriced rubbish and the café wasn't very clean. After we returned home we received another nice email from the owner thanking us for being such nice guests. All in all it was a brilliant holiday made all the nicer by the owner, We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lakelands.
