It has everything you could possibly need for a home from home holiday. I stayed with a group of school-mum friends for a weekend reconnecting after a long time without having seen each other. We had a wonderful time, the house is absolutely beautiful, spacious and homely, but also luxurious with the beautiful rooms and high quality finishes. I would have no hesitation in returning to Rhodewood lodge or in recommending it to anyone for future stays. I love Saundersfoot in the winter when it is quieter, but this home has so much to offer, it would be a perfect stay all year round.

If anything it is even better than the pictures. We were there with children and there are plenty of games and a lovely welcome pack. The kitchen is very well equipped and the utility room is ideal for all the sandy items. As the granny in the party I had the room which is slightly separated from the others. It was supposed to be my retreat from the chaos but the kids found me!! I can thoroughly recommend it

  • "Lovely house in a great position with good parking."

We were a party of 6 adults, so we’re able to each have an ensuite. 4 needed to work at times, and the property allowed each of them privacy to conduct their meetings. There was a bit of an issue with wifi and 4g, but the best areas for use were soon sussed. Kitchen facilities are great and we managed a BBQ a couple of nights. Hot Tub was lovely. Easy walk downhill into town. We had a lovely lunch at the Stone Crab and a evening meal at Coast (chose the tasting menu). You need to book at these places well in advance. Stone Crab seems to have a permanent ‘sorry we’re fully booked’ board outside and it is usually a couple of weeks before they have any vacancies. Narberth has some lovely shops, went on a sea safari from Tenby, Picton Castle is a great day out, with a Spanish restaurant on site. Blas restaurant (we booked ahead) at St Davids was very good. Beaches are beautiful. Wouldn’t hesitate to go again.

We were blown away by the interiors, the attention to detail of the facilities available (e.g. plastic cuttlery and crockery for the kids) and the owners had gone the extra mile with our welcome pack. The location is perfect - a very short and scenic walk to the beach and around the corner from the infamous St Brides Hotel - but we felt we chose the best more luxurious spot in Saundersfoot. We really do hope we get the chance to stay here again. Diolch yn fawr.

Suffice it so say that we could have set the bar even higher and still have been wowed by what we found. The result of the renovation of the property is highly impressive and the project has clearly been a huge labour of love. The accommodation is spacious, well designed and both decorated and furnished to the highest standards. We were a party of ten (three generations including four under 10s) and made full use of the well-appointed kitchen and dining area every day; it had a wonderful ‘homely’ feel about it. The weather was kind to us, resulting in lots of opportunities to enjoy the garden, patio area, BBQ and hot-tub. Drinking the odd glass of bubbly whilst taking in the wonderful views across Carmarthen Bay can be highly recommended. The location is ideal: far enough outside Saundersfoot to ensure ‘peace and quiet’ and yet within only a few minutes’ walk of all the facilities. The beaches, which the children loved, are safe and clean. Sarah was the perfect (remote) host and clearly went out of her way to ensure that we had a great holiday. We would all love to return.

The beaches are excellent and clean but if you wish to go a little further afield there is Amroth about 15 minutes to the east and Tenby which takes a similar time to get to on the west side. Tenby is a busy town with a good number of shops, bars and restaurants and is well worh a visit. If you like seafood, Plantagenet House in Tenby is well worth a visit. As far as our holiday home, Rhodewood Lodge, is concerned we couldn't fault it in the slightest. More expensive than what we have paid for previous holiday lets but well worth the money. I suppose its the old adage "you get what you pay for!" It is situated at the top of a steep hill but all the beaches are easily accessble on foot. The Lodge is unbelievably well equipped. The kitchen and living spaces are excellent as are the bedrooms. The beds are very comfortable and clean and although I can be a light sleeper I slept very well every night. Must be the sea air! We were a party of 9 consisting of my mother, my family of 4 (kids aged 11 & 9) + sisters family of 4 (kids aged 2 & 5). We were lucky to have fantastic weather and spent lots of time on the various beaches, taking the boat adventure to see the seals, porpoises and even a Sun Fish made an appearance. We also hired the paddle boards for a personal experience. My sisters family went to Folly Farm with the younger kids (Peppa Pig was there) whilst we went to Haverton with the older kids which has loads to do. We spent a couple of hours at a small local indoor water park with a wave pool & lazy river & slides. There is also a theme park but we didn’t have time to visit. • "We stayed at Rodewood Lodge for a Birthday celebration and when we arrived we couldn’t believe how beautiful the house was."

The photos we had looked at before arrival did not do this property true justice as it is truly stunning. There was plenty of space for 9 adults and each room was decorated and furnished to a very high standard. We were lucky to have fantastic weather too and therefore took full advantage of all the garden facilities including the hot tub, sun beds and seating areas. There are beautiful views from the rooms at the front of the house overlooking Saundersfoot bay and it’s just a short walk from the beach down the hill. We had a truly amazing time and will definitely return.

  • "Whilst we selected the property for the accommodation which would suit our 3 generations we were amazed by the quality and style of the interior."

Every room has been uniquely designed with attention to detail that is seldom seen in rented property. It is superbly equipped with everything you could wish for (and more! ). It is a great location with lovely views - a short walk into Saundersfoot gives access to shops, restaurants etc - we look forward to a return visit - simply stunning!

  • "The owner was extremely helpful, friendly and had forwarded us the info on the house as well as local area prior to our visit."

This was brilliant. Never had this before from a holiday rental, wish more people did this. The photos don't do the property justice, it really is spectacular, attention to detail and everything has been thought of for a luxurious break away.

  • "We had a truly wonderful weekend to celebrate a family birthday."

Rhodewood is an exceptional property and we were made to feel welcome by the owners in all they did in preparing the house, with a lot of lovely little touches to make it feel like a home not just a holiday venue. The house was clean, the bedrooms are all individual and tastefully furnished and decorated. We look forward to the next time we visit

  • "Rhodewood Lodge is simply amazing."

The house is beautiful with lovely decor and more spacious than appears on most pictures. It's in a calm area, a short stroll away from local shops and the Saundersfoot beach which make it a catch! The front of the house and side garden faces out onto a lovely view of the sea. 3 of the 6 bedrooms come with nice large en-suites which is another bonus making it perfect for groups. Separate lounging areas also allow for privacy or areas to work, if need be. The garden is perfect for a relaxing day and night with the provided hotub and BBQ. Even on smaller notes, the owners have equipped the house with anything you may or may not need. Would definitely recommend this to anyone and would personally like to visit again!

The property

An exquisite, detached Gothic Victorian property with a luxury hot tub and far-reaching sea and coastal views, just a short walk from the pretty seaside village of Saundersfoot.

The owners have lovingly restored this wonderful house and have retained many character features, as well as adding contemporary ones.

In fact the balance between old and new is a stunning combination.

Your first sight of this superb holiday home will excite you and stepping into the welcoming porch and stunning hallway with its original mosaic tiles, encourages you to explore the whole of this exquisite home.

Enjoy the stunning sea views from the sitting room, kitchen and diner.

The time spent together in the family living area with a kitchen will be a treat for all cooks, with a comfy seating area to watch some TV and a unique dining table created by using the original front arched door for the table top.

A beautifully presented sitting room is just across the hall, a perfect place for times spent together reading, playing board games or chatting and planning days out.

A cloakroom and a very useful utility/boot room, which can be entered directly from outside, is perfect to get rid of sand and to dry beach towels and wet suits as well.

Each of the bedrooms has Hypnos mattresses, luxury pillows and Egyptian cotton, so choosing the one for you may pose some thought.

The second floor bedroom with a balcony has access downstairs to a snug making it your own little suite.

There are two further bedrooms on the second floor, at the front of the property with wonderful views over Carmarthen Bay.

The larger bedroom has a freestanding bath in the bedroom as well as an en-suite shower and pretty views through the arched window and across the landing there is a smaller bedroom which is ideal room for parents who’d like their children sleeping nearby but not in the same room.

The first floor bedroom with an en-suite will be a favourite with views from the bed; however some of the best views will be enjoyed when you are relaxing in the en-suite bath.

The further two bedrooms on the first floor have a family bathroom to share.

Also on the first floor is a superb garden room with dining area and comfy seating opening out through patio doors to the first of three terraced patio areas, enabling you to bring the outside in.

Much of your holiday may well be spent in the garden with modern tiered patio areas with furniture to enjoy alfresco dining, as well as sun loungers and a hammock on the lawn, and of course a relaxing hot tub with massage jets.

At such a high quality holiday home in a friendly seaside village you may not want to venture far, but the array of attractions in this beautiful Welsh county beckon, so enjoy theme parks, countryside and coastal walks, historic castles and some of the most beautiful sandy beaches in the world.

Staying in this luxury holiday home will be one of the best holidays you will ever have.
