  • "This is a great little flat in the heart of Tenby."

We were there in the last week of August 2021. Positives: Most items catered for such as washing machine, iron, drying rail, sofa bed, dining table and cutlery. Bed was comfortable and plenty of spare linen to use. Main areas mostly all clean and tidy. Very near to all amenities/beach/restaurants etc. Negatives: No Vacuum to clean up dirt/mess/sand etc so had to sweep up daily with broom. Not sure why a deposit can't be taken for a vacuum cleaner so if it goes missing the customer losses the deposit. Simple to implemnet so not sure why this hasn't been done. Wooden floors just blow dust everywhere when trying to sweep up with a broom, not ideal. No Mop just a hand held wiper, again not ideal having to bend down and crawl along the floor to mop up mess. Areas around skirting in kitchen and bathroom were dirty and could do with a clean. Bedside tables also had a layer of dust on them. No spare toilet roll, we had to buy our own and we left the spares there. Advert states for 4 people but the sofa bed really isn't fit for purpose, no adult would be advised to sleep on this, the mattress is barely a mattress and would be just about suited to small kids/toddlers not grown children or adults. Arrival is after 3pm and departure is 10am, this is not aceptable, we basically lost a day. I asked for a later checkout but was refused as the flat 'had to be cleaned staright away for the next guests that are arrving at 12pm' How that works I don't know as check-in time is 3pm. So to be refused late check out even just 1 hour was I think unfair. This is especially true when the cleaner wasn't even there till after 11! For approx £1000 a week or more the owner recieves for the rental I'm sure some improvements could be made ie vacuum cleaner, full sze mop, spare loo roll, better mattress on sofa bed! Tenby is a lovely town and the people are so freindly, you won't be dissapointed! Just bare in mind the above positives/negatives of the flat itself. Overall it's a great light and airy flat to stay in, with good access and underground parking which I could fit my SUV in to.

Hi Mr Patel, thank you so much for all the positive things you said about our flat. I’m really glad you enjoyed your stay - Tenby is beautiful. I’m so sorry you had some issues with the accommodation. The sofa bed was especially made for us as we wanted a really sturdy bed for guests. My husband and I are 6 foot and 5ft8inches respectively and have slept on the sofa bed many times, very comfortably. I agree that a vacuum cleaner would be usI agree that a vacuum cleaner would be great but unfortunately, I have bought 3 in less than 2 years as they have been broken by guests who then deny all knowledge. I’m glad that you enjoyed your holiday, despite the shortcomings and really hope you will stay with us again. . Property Owner

  • "The location of the apartment is very central and handy for shops and eateries."

Although it was very busy the week we were in Tenby, it was pretty quiet in our apartment (apart from the seagulls!). The car parking space is very tight but fortunately we have a small car and had no real problems. The kitchen had everything we needed and everything was very clean. The lounge area was homely with a comfortable suite, though a coffee table would have been handy. The bathroom had a bath and shower over, which was fairly powerful. The only criticism really was that the bed was extremely soft, the mattress was comfortable enough, just too soft for us. Over all we would recommend this apartment as we had a fabulous week in Tenby

Hi Mrs McCoubrey Thank you so much for your feed back. I’m so glad you enjoyed our flat and Tenby. You’re right, the seagulls can be a bit loud, but apart from them, the flat is really quiet, as you said. Property Owner

  • "Would have preferred better lighting in the bathroom, especially over the sink, found it a little difficult to shave with the lighting as it is."

Hi Mr Baker Thanks for your generous feed back score. You’re right, we could do with a bit more light over the mirror in the bathroom. Once the season is over, I’ll get someone to take a look as to how we can improve it. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Exceptionally nice & well appointed apartment."

Everything worked well with no problems. the only problem we had was the parking, as the allocated space was very tight & difficult to get into. We got round that by using the multi storey car park for the week. which was reasonably priced.

  • "Flat 9 perfect for us, great location for walking etc."

Only thing I think would be nice in the information is that parking space for the flat is awkward to get in and out of as at the very end, if you have big car think you would not get it in space. But we had a fantastic holiday.

  • "My husband and I stayed in this lovely property for a week, it's in a great central location with walks virtually from the doorstep."

It also has the benefit of underground parking which was a huge asset, a word of warning though the space is in a corner and does take a bit of maneuvering to park.

  • "We arrived at 3."

45pm Sat 24th Apr. Tenby was thronging with people (mostly families) enjoying afternoon sunshine along the very narrow streets full of 'moochable' shops. Wonderful set hard and was now covered in dust, etc. Obviously it had been there a long time with no evidence that anyone had attempted to clean it up! {2} MAIN BEDROOM: As per specification apart from under the bed. Planks of wood are haphazardly stored there with a goodly covering of dust which shows no recent attempt to clean. {3} LIVING AREA: As per specification apart from a flattened dried tomato skin under the radiator! There is a drawer which houses brochures and local information guides/eateries; you can find out how much fish n' chips cost in 2012, where to go in pembrokeshire and how much the entrance fees are in 2014! Very useful from an historical perspective -it needs updating! (4) KITCHEN: Plates, associated crockery and cutlery were definitely up to speed. Tea towels =3 promised, 1 existed. No potato/veg peeler. No kitchen scissors (as promised). No can opener on the inventory BUT 3 found!!! 5 tupperware containers promised =none existed. 8 ramekins promised =5 existed. Out of 10 wine glasses, 7 existed. and so on, etc. [5] AND FINALLY! How do you sweep the floor, what if you accidentally spill something? There is a filthy hand held floor brush (photo available) with which you have to get down on your hands and knees in order to use. This is an insult to holidaymakers and I can't understand the reasoning behind it -perhaps you can get the owners to explain? My wife phoned (left a message) with Anne-Marie to ask for a broom (should this be necessary?). One was duly left by the front door on our return to the apartment. Oh, there was a dustpan and brush.........another 'get down on your hands and knees' jobby! .....................and, if there was a spillage..................no worries, the owners give you a large jay-cloth to use (hands and knees again!) Dear Sykes Holidays, we have been visiting South Wales since 1972. We have camped, caravaned, stayed in lodges and holiday cottages and this sadly, is our worst experience. We understand that you can only pass on to customers information as given by the owners; however, there must be some form of inspection...............mustn't there? We have just recovered from virtually 6 months of lockdown during which all holiday premises -as you well know- have been out of bounds. This particular apartment may have been used once before our arrival, You would expect, therefore, that the place would be in PRISTINE condition. What on earth has gone wrong? (Because of our nature, we had a wonderful time in Pembrokeshire -as we always do. We particularly wanted to stay in Tenby since when walking the coast path you only ever 'pass through it'. On that basis, the location of the apartment cannot be faulted but Sykes need the redress the concerns we have raised.................you owe it to future customers!

Thank you for you recent review and apologies for the shortcomings you mentioned. Unfortunately, guests occasionally break/take items and I regularly add items to the property, so keeping an inventory up to date is very difficult, as I’m sure you appreciate. I have removed the list so that future guests will not have the worry that the contents of the flat differs from the inventory. Many of our gusts very kindly leave leaflets with information about local amenities and places of interest, for future guests to make use of. Although some of these are out of date, they still give guests ideas for places to eat, local trips and things to do and see. I’m sorry you didn’t find them useful for your stay. I’m a little perplexed by the ‘tomato skin under the radiator’, as you were our first guests for several months, due to lockdown restrictions and the property was cleaned thoroughly prior to your arrival. I have now provided a long handled broom, vegetable peeler and a pair of scissors. I would love to give access to a vacuum cleaner but, having bought three in three years, I’m afraid it gets a little expensive. The wood ( a few pieces of spare flooring) has also been removed. I’m very glad that you managed to enjoy your stay, despite the problems you encountered, and hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

The location of flat 9 is brilliant and its largely comfortable and nicely furnished, personally found the settee a bit low, but I'm being picky; the bed was very comfy and warm. Cutlery could stand replacing and the fridge door doesn't shut securely, this must be costing a lot in wasted power. There is a problem with corroded grout on the shower wall, which is allowing water to seep through to the plasterboard and wood, and the bath-tap isn't secure, neither is the toilet seat, however the shower was always warm. A few more instructions on how to work things might be helpful such as the under cupboard lights and the wine cooler. These minor issue I note only to assist the owners in preserving the flat in good condition, none of them would prevent me returning to the flat which lovely and in a great location in the hub of the town
