Can't recommend the place enough. Diolch yn fawr to Mrs R and her grandson.

A lot of attention to detail had clearly been put in. WiFi is a bonus these days too. Very friendly and helpful host. We look forward to visiting again.

  • "We stayed from the 2nd to the 9th of September."

It was such a glorious week and the house just added to our wonderful experience. The large garden was ideal for our two dogs and it’s was so peaceful at the property with it being off the main road. Again ideal for our older dog who is also a bit nervous. A short walk to the coastal path gave us easy access for daily walks with the dogs so close to the house. With St David’s being 3/4 miles from the house and Abereiddy beach + Porthgain in the opposite direction, there was plenty for us to see and do during the week. The house and its amenities were everything we needed, with comfortable beds and a nice kitchen/dining area. All in all a great success and we will definitely visit again.

  • "The property is in a great location for both a beach holiday and the coastal path."

The property itself was clean and tidy some of the kitchen utensils need replacing and there is some damp issues in the kitchen area . Good sized garden so all in all a good property for a family holiday.

  • "A lovely large farmhouse ideal for 3 generations of our family with lots of room for us all to have our own space."

The location was fabulous with walks and the coast path accessible on foot from the cottage, also lovely beaches and places to visit an easy drive. We would have appreciated a second key to the property as we had 3 different family cars coming and going at various times ,we had to co-ordinate arriving back at the Farmhouse, However we all loved the accommodation and felt comfortable and relaxed whilst staying there . Mrs Reese was available and easy to contact and ensured we had everything we needed. We would recommend this lovely farmhouse for a relaxing family holiday and we are all very keen to return, as it suited our family needs so well.

  • "This is a lovely property although, to be honest, the furnishings in the lounge could be more modern and comfortable."

I was surprised that tea-towels and oven gloves weren't provided. I couldn't see that I'd been told to bring them and in one of the photos there are tea towels draped over the dishwasher. Just a minor point for what was otherwise a lovely stay - thank you.

Such a lovely traditional farmhouse, and great to have all that garden. A true rural idyll: and great to be such a short walk from the coastal path and incredible views. Also hugely appreciated Mrs. Rees coming to check we were okay, having arrived in wild storm -such a delightful character. We certainly hope to return. Jill and Roderick

  • "I found the property to be clean and very well equipped with all the facilities we required and more than I expected."

The DVD player failed during our stay and this was replaced the next day. I would like to thank the owner for her attention to detail - we had a very comfortable stay. The security and size of the garden coupled with the distance from a public road meant we had no anxiety concerning the safety of our dogs. A big plus point for us.

  • "We were 7 adults, two dogs and had a very enjoyable holiday."

The house was very comfortable and had plenty of bathrooms and hot water. The garden overlooked moorland which was rather wild but exciting. The track from the road was quite rugged. Although remote it was a convenient distance from St. Davids for shopping and visiting. You could walk to the coastal paths through the fields but it wasn't that close. There was a problem with the plumbing on one occasion but the owner was very charming came out immediately and sorted it. The dogs loved it as they had a good garden to run in and on closing the gate were sort of secure. There is a roadside cafe not too far away and nice to walk to. The area is ideal for exploring Pembrokeshire. We visited St. Davids, the cathedral and the Bishops Palace, Pembroke Castle, Solva, Porthgain, Fishguard and did lots of walks. The house was well equipped but we felt the kitchen utensils could be improved. Despite having bad weather we had a great time. I would highly recommend if you like country living.

  • "Wonderfully quiet location."

Overlooking countryside, panoramic views. Big garden for children to play. 4 large bedrooms. Super comfy firm beds...we all slept really well. Down a quiet country lane but only 3 miles out of St Davids. Access to the coastal path by foot. Completely enclosed for dog. Large dining table well eqipped. Plenty of hot water. Showers fine and lovely big bath for a soak. Very accommodating owner who came instantly when we had a power cut and the kettle failed. No complaints at all. Beautiful old farmhouse. Slightly musty but understandable. We loved it !

Maybe it should be made clearer that cottage is not in easy walking distance from beach. Trips round Skomer to see the puffins and trip to Ramsey Island were both excellent but important to book in advance

  • "We had a relaxed week at this farmhouse property, which was ideal for our family needs."

The house is a good size, with plenty of space, and good facilities. It was lovely and warm, and beds were comfortable. There is a large and well fenced garden, which was ideal with our dogs... (I do accept that some dogs are escape artists, so nothing can be guaranteed, but this is the first such garden we felt we could relax with). The property was a short walk to the coastal path, and was perfect for morning walks. It was only a few miles from St Davids, so not far to go for supplies and sightseeing. We didn't travel far, but still had plenty within a short distance to keep us occupied. We would certainly visit this property again.

Also, the owner, Mrs. Joan Rees, was incredibly attentive, and came round several times to check that we were OK! She is a most delightful lady, and it's always really nice to meet the owners, to get more of a local perspective.

  • "Tremynydd Fawr is in a wonderful location, far away from any noise, no street lights to pollute the sky and only a short walk to the coast path."

Its solid stone walls protected us from the mighty winds and we had plenty of room to spread ourselves, (our party being 5 adults and 3 children.) The kids loved the garden too. However, a couple of things need to be attended to.There were several light bulbs that were not working, in the lamp in the lounge, and one of the lounge main light bulbs, and one of the bedside lights in the larger twin room, and we couldn’t find any spares! The oven heats up very unevenly, tending to over cook things on the bottom shelf. Also, we lost the water pressure several times when people had baths and we had no water for a bit. Probably a private water supply, which I am quite used to, having lived in a remote Welsh farmhouse, but does that need a mention to warn people? Oh, and could you provide sharper kitchen knives please. Everyone was comfy and warm, although the smaller room double bed was apparently a bit uncomfortable, with the bed springs causing a bit of a problem. Having said all that, these are small issues that could easily be rectified and we had a fantastic week there, exploring our favourite parts of North Pembs, and we became quite fond of what the children called ‘our holiday house’. Diolch yn fawr i chi.

Spacious , so that we all had our own nooks and crannies when we wanted to be separate. And no one but the sheep to hear our grandson and his guitar, at full blast , and they didn'y mind! A happy place. We all want to rebook.

About the location

ST DAVIDS

Fishguard 15.5 miles; Pembroke 28.7 miles.

The city of St Davids is situated on the far south west coast of Wales. Granted city status by Queen Elizabeth II, it is the smallest city in the UK, with its magnificent cathedral dating back to the 12th century and the ruins of the Bishop's Palace, both wonderful buildings to explore. Situated within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, St Davids is a delightful place with an array of unique shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs, surrounded by spectacular coastal scenery. Nearby Whitesands Bay is one of the many beautiful beaches in the area, and walkers will delight in the spectacular views from the coastal path which runs around the complete coastline of Pembrokeshire. Local buses will help with your walking plans, so that you can walk several stretches of the path with totally different landscapes and views each day. Dolphin spotting from land or from the many boat trips to local islands are a must, and are also perfect for enjoying the wonderful array of birds in their natural habitat. St Davids is the perfect holiday destination, whether you are looking for a quiet relaxing break, wonderful walking, a round of golf, an exploration of magnificent castles or fun-filled days at Oakwood Theme Park, farm parks and much more.
