“Cottage, clean, well equipped and nicely presented.”

We were a little surprised on arrival to find it on a large housing estate, close to main, noisy, road. We wouldn’t have booked it had we known. However house was fine. A couple of things which might help other visitors - plenty of towels etc. But no t-towels which was a nuisance. We had a problem with the tv on the second night - unusable as Freesat box said it was unprogrammed. We tried auto tuning and the usual, switch off, then on again, but nothing worked and there were no instructions ...

We tried auto tuning and the usual, switch off, then on again, but nothing worked and there were no instructions other than how to turn on tv etc. Text to owner, who was not on sight, and arranged for someone to come the following day (Sunday) to fix it, with a spare key whilst we were out. Also on Sunday morning we had no hot water in either bathroom or kitchen (although electric shower worked) so reported this too. Both problems put right that day in our absence but there was no information about water heating etc., which might have helped us fix the problem. Plenty of information about kitchen appliances etc., but nothing about heating, water or tv troubleshooting, which could have saved owners having to come out. On arrival we were greeted by a box in the porch asking us to leave shoes in a plastic box. Understandably owners didn’t want dirty shoes on new laminate floors and carpets, but as rear garden was all gravel shoes were essential before we could go outside. Maybe something to think about. House let seemed to be a fairly recent enterprise so maybe the above might be helpful. Otherwise the house was well presented and equipped.
