  • "A beautiful and comfortable home just a few minutes walk from the shops and beach."

Seating in the lounge was comfortable and the beds were comfortable too. We weren't too sure about the steps to the front door as no rail but after the first day we used the kitchen door for access, so it was much better (could do with a door mat though). Would highly recommend this property.

  • "The owner was very obliging, as I had to ring 3 times for heating ."

There was no paperwork for any of the appliances, no information about the town , places to eat , or doctors, dentists. No book to write the reviews .

Thank you for your feedback . We are very sorry to hear you were unhappy. Your comment regarding the heating is somehow misleading as it intimates that you had to call 3 times before there was a response. Having programmed the heating I was unaware that the thermostat was not functioning correctly which led to your second call the next day. At this point a full system check was carried out by an engineer and the appropriate repairs were carried out. Your third call was for the heating to be on even longer, basically from 6.30 am to 9.30 pm ! to which I obliged even though your holiday was in the middle of September. Regarding appliances, the Oven paperwork is supplied and hob, kettle, microwave is self explanatory but as you would have seen on our notice board we are very happy to call out or respond by phone anytime day or night. We have taken your comments regarding emergency services on board and will add the information to our guest board. With all the above said, we do hope you still enjoyed your stay in Tenby. • "The Orangery was extremely lovely, It was beautifully furnished and spotless."

The only problem for us was access, my husband uses a walking aid and unfortunately the property is approached by concrete steps with no handrail, also access to the front door had 5 steps without a handrail, we eventually used the side door where there were 3 steps but no rail. I think the advert on the net should state that the property is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Otherwise lovely

Thank you for your nice words regarding the property. We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the lack of handrail up to the front door. Whilst the photos clearly show there is no hand rail to the front door ,we do take your comments on board and will look into installing one in the near future. Thank you very much for staying with us. Property Owner

It has everything you need , light & bright accommodation with really comfy beds. High standard of furnishings and immaculately clean. Parking spaces right outside the property. We were lucky to have gorgeous weather so the lovely garden was very handy for outside eating and a lovely sun trap terrace for a morning coffee. We will definitely be returning .

We have been coming to Tenby for 20+ years and this has been the best house we have stayed in (huge bonus with parking!)… could you add an extra note about the bins and when they need to go out … completely missed the bin day and felt guilty all week !

Thank you for your kind words, so glad you enjoyed your stay in the Orangery. Regarding the bins, please don’t feel guilty, we would like our guests to relax and enjoy their holiday and not worry about the bins. We always sort all rubbish and recycling on change over day. Property Owner

Plenty of room for 6 adults. Only thing missing, file to inform you how things work. Fire in living room, couldn't get to light, heating on timer, could have done with it coming on earlier in winter. Wouldn't stop us returning to the house, great stay, very comfortable. Hopefully return soon.

The house is well laid out and very comfortable although as an older couple, the large sofa is a little low, easy to get into, difficult to get out of if you know what I mean, however, there is another firmer option if required. The kitchen is well appointed which we only used for breakfasts as we chose to eat out most evenings, the town has a good choice of places for food, even this late in the year and it's good to support the local economy. We explored the area finding amazing beaches and scenery, definitely a place we will return to.

Thank you for your valid feedback! We now have a new sofa and footstool in the lounge and also a new sofa in the master bedroom . Property Owner

  • "There was no welcome guide, TV was basic either only 4 DVDs."

There was very little games for children and no beach equipment. The down stairs toilet seat had a chip in it making it unusable. The knifes and folks were of the most basic quality. Toilet roll was only 1 per bathroom with no spares, and only 2 bath towels per bathroom provided leaving one overdone having to make due with a hand towel! I expected a lot more.

We always advice guests that we are available 24hours a day as we live very near and are very happy to respond to any issues. Had you contacted us at anytime during your stay we would have of course happily addressed any issues. We are sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay, this is an unusually low rating for us. Property Owner

Only after pressure from the regulators did Sykes finally offer refunds to customers in our position. Appalling. Other holiday rental companies did not take this approach. We will NEVER use Sykes again. As for the property itself, it was light, modern, well maintained with pleasant seating areas both inside and out. The owner was very helpful in quickly supplying a chopping board and lighbulb when requested. I would urge him to take his properties to a more customer-friendly rental agency. The fridge was very small, and not sufficient for a self catering holiday when people might be less keen to eat out. The CD player was cheap and tinny and not appropriate for an up-market property.

Loads of space, lovely garden, very clean, all the things you needed. Great location for the beaches and Tenby town. We normally choose somewhere more rural in Pembrokeshire but we loved this property. The setting and the garden meant that despite being a short distance from the beaches and the centre you were still away from things when you came back. I would definitely stay in the property again as it felt like the best of both worlds. I needed to speak to the owner a couple of times and he was so helpful. Really nice friendly, helpful chap. I felt bad contacting him but he insisted that 'this is what we are here for'. Great service. Awesome place to stay

Loads of space for 6. Big social spaces and great facilities. Really friendly owner. Amazingly comfy beds. Great location. Easy parking spaces right in front of house. Pros - location, comfort, space, general cleanliness and look and feel is good, 5 minute walk to everything Tenby has to offer - best beaches. Cons - older (late 70s) need to walk uphill to Town. Is there anywhere in Tenby that doesn’t require this? Cooker hood could have done with a clean. We would definitely book this property again without reservation. One of the best properties we have had in the UK.

  • "This is a beautiful home."

It is located close to the beaches and the town centre. The house itself is very spacious and perfect for a family. The rooms are large and the beds are super comfortable. The kitchen is spacious and there is a dining table in both the large living room and kitchen. The weather was really fine for March and we were able to open the large patio windows to feel the warm breeze. It took us some time to find the home as there are no signs off St John's Hill so we walked up and down the hill (not very long) until we spotted the house. For those who have booked, you will find the entrance to the gardens just after Rectory Close. There is no sign that says 'the Orangery' but its hard to miss if you have the photos. There were just a few things that could have made this even better. There was no welcome information and we had to call the owner for instructions for the gas fire. He was very helpful but we didn't want to disturb him. The shower in the second bathroom was difficult to use as we couldn't get the temperature right. The toilet seats needed tightening up. We would have loved larger towels so the next people might want to bring their own if they like to use a bath sheet. However these small things did not take away our enjoyment of the home. It is by far the best holiday home we have stayed in and would definitely return.

About the location

TENBY

Pembroke 11 miles; Carmarthen 26 miles.

The bustling seaside resort of Tenby, known within Wales as “The Jewel in the Crown", is majestically positioned on the spectacularly beautiful 'Welsh Riviera'. Tenby is part of the stunning 186 mile Pembrokeshire Coast National Park where the water is warmed by the Gulf Stream and the county is one of the sunniest places in the UK. Enclosed by medieval walls, this beautiful town features a maze of cobbled streets, hosting an array of quirky shops, indoor locally-sourced food market, tea rooms and tempting restaurants. Almost three miles of stunning, Blue Flag-awarded beaches provide a variety of watersports, whilst walkers and cyclists can enjoy the local flora and fauna on the coastal paths, something the competitors of the world-renowned Tenby Iron-Man contest (held in mid-September) haven’t time for! A boat trip to Caldey Island is recommended to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the monastery and island scenery, and you can enjoy seal and puffin sightings en-route! Explore the magnificent Tudor Merchant's House, or visit the nearby resorts of Saundersfoot or Manobier. For teens and younger visitors, Oakwood Theme Park provides a brilliant, fun-filled day out whilst Folly Farm offers everything from old-fashioned fairground rides to animals both local and exotic! The perfect location for an enjoyable and varied holiday.
