  • "I would ensure the cleaners clean under the sofas and check bedside drawers as we found rubbish in them."

Otherwise it was a delightful bungalow. Never really noticed the trains at all. And everything we needed was provided. The cottage was in a secluded location and a car is required. We really liked the property and it covered all we wanted.

My only complaint was a bad frousty smell in both bedrooms due to dampness. But I have rated a 9 for clean and lovely area

Needs a new toaster, garden a bit scruffy with weeds all round, although patio area was clean. There is also a BBQ there.

Perfect for a family especially with grown up children as there is a separate sitting room. We had an infant of 3 months & our Son & his partner with us so plenty of space for baby’s equipment. Well equipped kitchen.

So well equipped, clean and tidy. Great location for Saundersfoot and Tenby. I really did not want to leave and could have happily lived there forever.

  • "On the plus side - comfortable and spacious."

Not so good - very little was provided other than minimum bare necessities. Examples - only 1 tea towel, few dishwasher tabs, no spare loo roll. None of the "rainy day" trimmings you usually get in holiday cottages such as books, games, puzzles, local tourist information. EV charging is forbidden (not as described on website).

A great space for a large family like ours- we love Tenby. Easy to get into Tenby and surrounding areas from the bungalow. Ample parking. Just one thing just to highlight: There is a train line that passes regular and in the middle of the night so would be worth adding this to the listing.

Everything we needed for our stay was available to us. Great kitchen and bathrooms. Good location, plenty of places to eat and drink locally. We would be happy to stay here for a family get together again. Especially if it was in the summer as the garden would be great after a day at the beach and enclosed for the dogs and the little one. Thanks for a lovely week. Rylan and family.

Our family get together was a success, and even our dogs enjoyed their stay! The safely enclosed rear garden meant that we could relax. Very welcome Welsh cakes and tea/coffee supplies on arrival. Thank you! The property is only a stone’s throw from Saundersfoot railway station and this could really be useful during the summer to avoid having to travel by car to explore Tenby, Pembroke, or further afield. As others have said, the only negative would be the unadopted track to the property. It needs to be properly surfaced to allow tyres to grip and to avoid damage to the bottom of cars which are low to the ground.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay and found the bungalow well equipped, spacious and comfortable."

After reading some recent comments, I was a little concerned about the access, however, it wasn't a problem. The garden is somewhat overgrown and could do with a little TLC, it would be nice to have something to clean the bathroom, but otherwise everything was great. Our visit was somewhat marred by the cleaners' attitude. Unfortunately, we weren't able to leave before 10am due to our elderly mum (91) struggling a bit after a bad night and she has to use a walking frame, which makes things slower. The cleaners arrived promptly at 10am and we were happy for them to come in shortly after and start. We left around 10.25am, but it was made extremely clear that they were not at all understanding and although we would have liked to revisit, we will probably not do so as it was a really unpleasant ending to the holiday.

The only negative is the access lane - it is very rough and my hire car ended up with a chip on the bonnet.

  • "It was quite easy to find."

Very comfortable property. Plenty of space for a family. Well equipped (had to get used to induction hob) Safe and pretty garden, comfy beds and seating. Well placed for days out, local beaches, places of interest. We all enjoyed our stay. The only thing to be noted is the access drive from the main road. It's unmade, quite steep and full of pot holes. We almost drifted back onto the main road one time after going into a wheel spin. It needs very careful approach from the right angle. Not for the inexperienced driver. The main road is quite busy most of the time and has no footpaths making walking to the villages dodgy. We appreciate that the access to the drive may be shared but it really needs to be repaired and made safe for visitors.

  • "The bungalow is large, of a high standard and well laid out."

The place was spotless and well equipped with plenty of comfy sofas and very comfortable beds. There's plenty of parking and the garden is completely dog safe and secure. The owners had left a welcome pack of tea coffee milk and sugar plus a packet of welsh cakes, all of which were appreciated on our arrival. There are lots of eateries and several take aways close by including the owners (we met Ed) who run The Pirate Cafe in nearby Amroth. Our only gripe was the access was in poor condition as you turned off the road into the property lane and we had to take great care not to get the cars stuck in the deep ruts. Overall our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. During our stay we saw a bullfinch, an owl and a woodpecker as well as a daily robin and blackbirds so very peaceful too. I would definitely recommend a restful holiday at 1 Homecroft Bungalows.

Large parking area, we just wish the listing had mentioned the steep entrance and surface to get to the property and how to approach it (by always driving up it from one direction from the main road. The main road itself has no pavements and is winding so we did not feel safe enough to walk into Saundersfoot. Otherwise the property was as expected.

Property was clean and tidy and very homely. Short drive into Saundersfoot town and close by to all other tourist spots. Only issue was the access, very difficult if you don’t have a 4x4. The listing is also not accurate as this property wasn’t detached and didn’t have an en suite bathroom.

Would have given it 5 out of 5 stars apart from problems with the following: The shower in the main bathroom was out of use and also could not use the jacuzzi bath as needed a deep clean. The owners were friendly and helpful. Sykes however were very disappointing during the pandemic with no phone lines to ring and unanswered emails and it took months to try and change the date of our holiday. We were not even allowed to travel to Wales and I still couldn’t get anyone to understand this. This resulted in me having to pay an extra £400 or more for our holiday even though the price I had seen for that week online from the website was less than this. Clearly I was just having to pay for a lost deposit, when if Sykes had done their job properly this would not have been needed. I will never use Sykes to book a holiday again as I feel they lied and were extremely unhelpful.

  • "A lovely bungalow badly in need of some tlc."

Small shower room smells mouldy and damp, although shower was good. Drawers and wardrobes also smelled mouldy. Cleaning was unimpressive - crumbs on chopping board, sticky surfaces. We took anti-bacterial wipes and had to use them on the kitchen surfaces. Television screen was filthy. Garden was very nice but a bit unkempt. Loved the Sam Toft prints, I have several at home. Access to the property could be a problem if you don't have a 4 by 4 vehicle (luckily, we do). Concealed entrance isn't signposted. The adjoining property was having some building work which woke us up on a couple of occasions. Aside from the above, we enjoyed our holiday but probably would not return to this property.

Very clean and tidy on arrival and the house is very open plan which is good when there’s a large group attending. The garden is very nice and catches the sun all day. It was also perfect for our dogs to run free as the property is totally enclosed. We liked it so much we’ve already booked again for later in the year.
