  • "This is a perfectly located property for an autumn break."

Easy to walk to the seafront and near enough to get to the coves of Gower, but close to Swansea for indoor activities when it rained. The property was spacious and comfortable. Our only gripe was that we could have done with more/larger saucepans. Would totally recommend.

Glad you enjoyed your stay we will be restocking the kitchen over the Winter break. Regards Rob and Tina Property Owner

on the Smart TV which is great for rainy days. The garden is fully enclosed and safe for our labrador to explore, and there is plenty of off road parking available on the driveway. Everything was clean and tidy and made our stay very comfortable - thank you.

  • "Very clean and lovely house and garden."

However all the venetian blinds need attention on the "strings" to alter their position (open/closing/lifting). I had to get on a chair (me in my 70s!) to open one of them in the dining room. The house is quirky upstairs - which all adds to the fun of a holiday - but to not have a bedside light plug point in the back double room was a bit disconcerting in the night. I was saddened to find that there was no "shaver" point in the bathroom so I couldn't charge my electric toothbrush and I had to go to Cash's Hardware to purchase a special adaptor plug. These are not "complaints" - just pointing it out.

  • "The house is really well situated being a 5-10 min walk to the beach and promenade."

It’s a pleasant walk, along the promenade, to the main Mumbles shopping / restaurant areas - 25 - 30 mins in total. The house is well equipped with everything you need in the kitchen. Everything was clean on arrival, the shower was great and beds were comfy. The conservatory was really cosy during the few showers we had, otherwise we sat in the garden when we were at the property. The garden seemed fully enclosed, our dog didn’t find an escape route although the visiting fox seemed to know where to go to get in & out! The garden isn’t well maintained, but we quite like the ‘natural’ look and feel although the patio could’ve done with being weeded. The only negative, and it’s fairly minor, is that whilst it was very quiet at night (no road or traffic noise) the internal doors didn’t seem to shut properly and rattled and banged all night (windows were open as it was warm). We had a lovely stay at the house and would definitely return if we stay in Mumbles again.

Thanks for your comments, the garden has since had a once over, we were between gardeners, and hopefully all the doors have been adjusted and fixed. Regards Rob Property Owner

  • "A lovely property, well presented and very clean."

A home from home in a quiet residential neighbourhood, loved the conservatory especially on the very warm days. Everything I needed in a holiday home, the garden backed onto woods and was a bit wild and my tiny Maltese really loved it. I was visiting family as I’m from Swansea and went to school in west cross so very nostalgic for me. Access was easy via the key safe and felt very welcoming as soon as I walked through the door. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Thankyou very much for your kind review. Please come back and stay again soon. Rob & Tina xx Property Owner

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brookvale Road."

Property was comfortable, warm and clean. Well equipped and had everything we needed. Good sized bedrooms, plenty of living space, and a lovely garden (which is now enclosed despite the property description saying otherwise, which is great!) We are regular visitors to The Mumbles and loved the location of the property, a great base to go out exploring, and our toddler loved the garden. We saw a baby fox on a few occasions and heard an owl in the evenings. The weather was mixed but we visited Gower Heritage Centre, The Pier, Plantasia Tropical Zoo, Swansea Marina, and lots of the local beaches. We also took a trip to Brecon Mountain Railway which was wonderful, and explored the wood to the rear of the house. We will definitely return to the property, and if the owners ever think of selling please get in touch as we're going to relocate to the area in the next few years!

The garden looked out into a woods that for me was wonderful. To be within a short walk to the sea & a walk in the woods was superb. There was just me & my husband and our tiny dog so the house was more than big enough for us. If there were six of you, which is how many the house is set to accommodate, sitting in the lounge to watch television would not be comfortable. Given good weather you would all fit in the conservatory. The house certainly provided all you needed for a week away and if our health holds we would love to come back soon.

Mumbles Area well worth a visit with plenty of beaches worthy of a visit. A few small point’s that need to be rectified, conservatory doors difficult to lock (wife never managed to lock them all week), TV signal poor, kept scrambling when watching, when it rained leaking guttering on conservatory roof was torture with constant drip hours after rain stopped & lovely garden but needs a bit more TLC. • "This was the first time we had booked a holiday cottage, so didn’t really know what to expect."

On arrival the house is not very inviting from the outside, the garden needs attention, even a few autumn plants would brighten it up. Inside was very clean and comfortable, it just needs some TLC. There was obviously a new shower fitted upstairs, but they haven’t cleaned the tiles of the grouting, also the water leeks out of the shower doors. Both toilet seats were loose. All the doors appear to have been hung the wrong way round so you have to go right into the room to turn the light on, the lock spaces are clearly visible on the door posts. The back garden needs attention, all the pots just had dead Plants in them, I would have loved a couple of days gardening there. The garden isn’t suitable for dogs, we couldn’t let ours off .the lead at all, as there were holes in the fence and a big drop into next doors garden. The conservatory roof had lots of moss growing on it and there were plants growing in the guttering, One of the windows looked as if it had been wiped with a dirty cloth. There was a cobweb in the downstairs toilet, and no salt in the dishwasher, which I would have thought the cleaner would check before each new arrival, this didn’t bother us as we use Smol tablets that do not need extra salt . This could be such a lovely house in an ideal position, maybe I’m too fussy, but just needs a few hours work on it .

About the shower we had an accident with some previous guests, which was mentioned on check in, so the shower was being fixed but unfortunately there were a few snagging problems which the workmen didn’t have time to complete, but are all sorted now. The toilet seats have also been sorted, and a fence was already planned for the garden to be erected as soon as we had some down time. Also due to COVID the garden wasn’t as good as previous years as we weren’t able to get down there as much as we normally do to get it organised. The moss in the guttering has also been sorted by the window cleaner. Thanks for your feed back much appreciated. Property Owner

We had a problem with being told someone was coming to fix the shower and not to use it....this was difficult with 4 adults and 2 small children. However I think this is being sorted. The garden is nice but unsuitable for toddlers due to steps and a deep drop. Needs a bit of fencing off. We were unable to use the the garden because toddlers are quicker than us.
