Although fairly small, it had the advantage of the garden room, in which we enjoyed the wood burner and mood lighting while the rain fell outside. Everything worked well and the town was only a short walk away.

Had everything you needed, nice touches with the welcome pack and condiments. Hosts were great. Only negative comment would be a bigger fridge not enough room for food, beer n wine especially this time of year! A beer n wine fridge would be perfect in the garden room.

Bed is good and slept well. We wanted for nothing in our stay and the hosts made sure that that things went smoothly for us. Smallish accommodations, ideal for two, but it was not cramped in any way. Good parking and a pleasant outside area. Wonderful area to fan out and see the sights of the countryside and towns. Welcome pack provided was excellent! This place is quirkily decorated and wonderful little gem

The cottage was spotless, comfortable, well equipped and very private. We wanted for nothing. The 'garden room' is a fantastic place to relax. We were lucky with the weather but just had to try the woodburner which our dog loved! A lot of thought has been put into creating a pleasing holiday environment and it works a treat. Thanks to Pat and Mike who made clear they were available if needed but were invisible throughout. Just what we like! We would not hesitate to return should we get the chance.

Perfect location to see South Wales. Only a couple of miles from waterfall country. The cottage provides everything you could need for a comfortable stay. We called ahead to tell the owners we were vegan as they provide a welcome pack and I didn’t want them to waste their money. To our surprise we had a very thoughtful vegan pack. It was so relaxing to sit out in the super shed in the evening with the log burner, listening to music on Alexa. We will definitely be back!!

The cottage was very clean and had a supply of bleach spray, hand gel etc and we felt safe from the time we entered the cottage to when we left. It was well equipped and am unable to think of anything that was missing. The garden room was great to return too especially with 2 dogs who laid in beds provided by the owners, snoring after an adventurous time exploring. There are walks on the doorstep. The owners were helpful in suggesting places to visit in regards of off lead dog walking. I can recommend the 4 waterfall trail and Craig y Nos country park for both dog lovers and none dog lovers. I am unable to report on any eating establishments as at time of visit Wales had only started to open up to eating outside. This did not deter us and we found that the Ancient Mariner had a small café with outside seating serving breakfast which my husband enjoyed even of a plastic plate. I would stay at this cottage again if I was visiting this part of Wales in the future.

Fitting a Velux window in the roof would be a big improvement light wise as we had to have the lights on all the time we were inside. The shed was more suitable for bikers with the bike store area and garden room, who with a beer or two wouldn't notice the lack of light. The photos are a true record. The hosts were very good and helpful everything was spotless and clean the bed very comfortable. The goody's left for us provided our breakfast on the first day. milk, bread, butter, eggs, jam. tea and sugar. This cabin is an ideal base for a couple looking to explore the breathtaking mountains while being close to busy towns and a short drive from the sweeping sandy beaches of South Wales.

Offering all ground floor accommodation, there is a light and airy bedroom leading from an open plan living area with a compact kitchenette, dining area and comfy seating where you can curl up and watch a film in the evening.

The cabin also benefits from a garden room with a woodburner and seating, where you can relax with the dogs after a day spent walking the stunning mountain scenery that surrounds the village.

The cottage has its own dedicated parking space leading into a small private garden and is entered via a series of four steps.

Outside, you can sit in your own deceptively secluded garden and enjoy a morning cup of coffee.

The River Tawe meanders through the valley from the mountains of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) towards Swansea Bay; there is so much open countryside to explore you may be spoilt for choice.

The cottage is only five minutes from the National Cycle Network Route 43 that takes you on a leisurely traffic-free ride to the heart of Swansea along a picturesque route that uses a dismantled railway, Swansea Canal towpath and the banks of the River Tawe.

You are ideally placed to take a trip to explore the stunning area known as Waterfall Country, less than 10 miles away, where beautiful gorges are peppered with waterfalls and why not take the chance to step behind the waters of Sgwd-yr-Eira?

The area offers a huge selection of outdoor activities with all activity levels catered for, such as horse riding, paragliding, walking, cycling, gorge trekking, abseiling or kayaking.

Explore the Showcaves of Wales at Dan-yr-Ogof, 6 miles away, or join one of the stargazing events to enjoy the only Dark Sky Reserve in Wales.

Slightly further afield to the north you can explore the industrial heritage of the Big Pit and Blaenavon Iron works.

To the south a whole different landscape opens up with Swansea Bay offering fabulous beaches, including Rhossili Bay beach, considered to be one of the worldÂ’s best beaches.

A perfect base for couples to get away from the hustle and bustle, with fabulous days out exploring the mountain landscape, a short drive from the fantastic sandy beaches of South Wales.
