  • "A really lovely and very cosy and comfortable cottage in a great location close to the shops beach and the marshes which are great for walking."

  • "We arrived at Shrimpers Cottage in torrential rain, having to endure flooding in many villages on our journey!"

But what a sight for sore eyes as we unlocked the door and was greeted by the beauty and comfort that the cottage had to offer! Just what it said on the tin, as they say! Everything was perfect, location couldnt have better and we throughly enjoyed walking to the beach to watch the sunrise! We didn't venture far as our plans were to relax but the walk to Thorpeness on both days was a joy; one experiencing the energy of a raging sea and the next was calm and tranquil! The only thing I would include in the cottage to make it spot on, is the addition of a small table next to the armchair to place your coffee cup/wine glass on! But not essential! We will definitely be coming back to this beautiful part of Suffolk and Shrimpers Cottage! Ps. The bottle of wine and nibbles was a lovely welcome!

  • "Nice cottage, well presented plenty of room for two, stairs quite steep, not really much outside space, clean and tidy, good shower/wet room though water goes over everything (toilet/sink) but on a warm day/week as we had the window open dried it off after a wipe down with kitchen roll."

Comfy and large bed, no tv in bedroom(not a problem for us) would we stay again? yes its less than a minute from High street and 3/4 mins from sea. Enjoyed our week so thank you.

  • "This was our third stay in Shrimpers cottage and as previously thoroughly enjoy our stay."

It’s our intention to book again for next year. We have mentioned this previously and feel the property would definitely benefit by the purchase of a pod coffee machine!!

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Shrimpers Cottage!"

It’s ideally placed and well equipped. Although there’s no parking we used the excellent Fort Green car park which is nearby and only £4 per day. The cottage was clean and comfortable and served 3 adults well. The only small gripe is the wet room. It really does get very wet, but the cottage isn’t big enough to house a full bathroom. The only issues we had were with a broken toilet seat that was flagged up by the housekeeper when we got there and wasn’t fixed and the fact that Best of Suffolk hadn’t told us that the key safe code had changed so when we arrived at 8.30pm we couldn’t get in! A quick phone call to the excellent housekeeper soon fixed this though. But these are only minor grumbles. We’d highly recommend Shrimpers Cottage!

  • "The only thing we didn’t like was ‘the shower’."

It was slippery and dangerous when showering.

  • "The addition of the stair carpet is great!"

It would be useful to have a full length mirror in the main bedroom and also some hooks to hang the tea towels. The rubbish collection arrangement needs to be addressed as the landfill bin was full (and smelly) when we arrived, and wasn't emptied or dealt with during our stay, even though I contacted Best of Suffolk.

Lovely cottage, tastefully decorated and comfortable. (Had to swap a bedside lamp as it did not work and could not locate the correct spare bulb. )

Easy walking distance to beach, shops, pubs and restaurants. Very well equipped and very cosy to come back to, even in sub-zero temps.

  • "Wonderful little cottage for a small family, next to the beach but not in the firing line of the busy high street."

    Perfect.

  • "Another lovely stay at Shrimpers Cottage."

Love the new addition of carpet to the timber stairs…. Much safer. There appears to be a leak from the walk in shower showing downstairs and it appears to have been leaking sometime. The property would benefit from a Nespresso machine or similar coffee pod machine rather than filter coffee which is a bit ‘old hat’ these days!!

The property has retained some original features helping to create a lovely rustic vibe but at the same time, comes complete with all the mod cons any discerning visitor would expect.

The open-plan living space is warm and inviting with a generous seating area arranged around the woodburning stove, where you can imagine curling up with a favourite drink and enjoying quality time together.

There are some attractive features here including wood flooring, cottage windows, original cast iron radiators and that all-important woodburner, which all add up to produce a welcoming, rustic ambience.

Step into the fully fitted kitchen, which has all that is needed to produce delicious food for you and your loved ones.

When the food is ready to serve, pull up a chair at the cottage-style dining table which is the perfect spot to enjoy long, lazy meals together and really get into the holiday spirit.

Should the sun be shining, you can take your meal outside into the enclosed courtyard garden and enjoy time drinking and dining alfresco.

When bedtime calls, the king-size bedroom is all set up to welcome guests with a sumptuous king-size bed and tasteful soft furnishings adding up to make a calming and relaxing space.

The single bedroom is just as inviting and offers a chilled out room, ideal for resting your weary head after a tiring day.

Grab a refreshing shower in the morning and a quick coffee at the patio table in the courtyard and you’re good to go.

The charming town of Aldeburgh is within walking distance and here you will find a good choice of shops, boutiques, bars, cafes, pubs and restaurants as well as a pebble beach and a selection of brightly coloured beach huts for which it is well known.

A little further up the coast and you have the delightful town of Thorpeness as well as Southwold, famous for its pier and the picture-postcard village of Walberswick is also well worth a visit.
