  • "The only problems we had was with the TV which could not be tuned in properly so the picture kept breaking up and sound as well."

The bedside light in the twin room did not work, it looked like the cable to the on/off switch was so twisted that the wire inside was broken. Otherwise OK.

  • "We absolutely loved this cottage, probably our favourite in Aldeburgh so far, it’s just missing a few things that previous cottages had."

Things like a dryer or heated clothes airer. As a family of four, with wet clothes from swimming or the inclement weather, this would have been so handy. We also picked up on things like the sofa and carpets looked like they’re due a deep clean. Spare or extra covers would be great too. Some foil or baking paper would’ve been fab too. We will however definitely book and stay again.

  • "We loved the position of the property and the beds and furniture were really comfy."

The property was lovely and clean and we appreciated the welcome wine and biscuits. Happy to report no issue with wi-fi as previous customers had reported. Only small niggles: the overbath shower was pretty cramped from my husband (he is 5ft 11), anyone much taller might find this a significant drawback. The garden furniture was adequate but quite tired. The quality of crockery, cutlery and in particular sharp knives would benefit from an upgrade. Would definitely consider using this cottage again, but if I did I would take my own sharp knives for cooking!

  • "Really nice place but no Wi-Fi, which was a specific requirement when booking."

Should not advertise as having Wi-Fi and I’ve since seen others’ feedback the same.

Hello Nigel. Thanks for the feedback and hope that you enjoyed your stay. Just to say that Button Cottage does have Wi-Fi but it is sometimes poor at times, and in the area as a whole. I know it is too late for you now but I would have been more than happy to discuss during your stay. Hope to welcome you back sometime in the future. Thanks again Gillian (owner) Property Owner

  • "A delightful cottage at the end of the High Street, ideally located for exploring the lovely town of Aldeburgh and local area."

The cottage is cosy and warm and the central heating was on when we arrived - a lovely warm welcome but just as well as there were no logs provided for the wood burner. The kitchen / diner is spacious for a small cottage and well-equipped for cooking if you want to self-cater, with room for 4 around the table if necessary. The bed is super-comfy with lovely linens and there is plenty of storage space. The bathroom ceiling slopes in a couple of places but neither of us is over 5’11 so this wasn’t an issue. There is plenty of hot water and a good shower. The bottle of wine and biscuits as a welcome gift was a very nice gesture, but there was no milk in the fridge so we couldn’t make a cup of tea on arrival. Our main problem was the poor Wi-Fi / broadband. My husband needed to do a small amount of work during our stay and the connection was so poor / intermittent that he was not able to do this. Even the TV reception was unreliable as the picture broke up from time to time. This is the main reason for 4* not 5*. Overall, a delightful little cottage with lovely decor in a quiet location and we wouldn’t hesitate to book it again.
