  • “The lodge and it’s surroundings are lovely.”

    It would be nice to have a DVD player in the lodge itself as not always practical with dogs and young children to use the games room. Otherwise a lovely short break.

The property

Found in rural Suffolk, near the village of Laxfield is a collection of beautiful lodges, White House Lodges, with the largest being Napier Lodge sleeping eight people and designed with groups in mind.

Start planning that family holiday you've never got round to doing, or gather your old friends for a reunion at this stunning property, great for enjoying all the benefits of the southern countryside, as well as being near the coast!

You can easily unwind in the open-plan living space, where you'll find a large corner sofa and matching two-seater so there's room for everyone to unwind.

Share dinner time together at the dining table for a delightful evening after the chefs of the group have prepared a delicious meal in the well-equipped kitchen, an easy job when you've got everything you need to hand, like the wonderful electric double oven and induction hob.

The accommodation is all ground-floor making it great for those with limited mobility, with the four bedrooms including three king-size rooms each with an en-suite bathroom and a twin room served by a separate wet room, all beautifully decorated, in-keeping with the same theme throughout and using lovely neutral hues of creams and greys.

When the sun is shining take the opportunity to sit outside on the private decked balcony and enjoy a glass of wine on the outdoor seating or delight in some alfresco dining for a change.

On-site facilities include the use of a games/cinema room, where you can make use of the films or PS4 games on a rainy day.

The beautiful area of Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB has a lot to offer in the way of walks, cycling, and many other outdoor activities with a farm not far away offering Camel Park Oasis, where you can ride a camel and visit many other animals being looked after there.

Halesworth 6.7 miles.

Laxfield is about half-way between the Suffolk market towns of Halesworth and Framlingham, just 40 minutes' drive from the coast at Southwold or Aldeburgh. Just off the main road, called The Street, lies the school and pre-school, the village hall and the Baptist chapel. In the centre, near the wonderful All Saints Church and the historic Guildhall are a thriving modern Co-op store and two charming pubs. Close by, Halesworth is full of character, with old buildings, a weekly market held on a Wednesday and a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants. The beautiful Suffolk Heritage Coastline features unspoilt heathlands and the RSPB Minsmere Nature Reserve, whilst the delightful coastal towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh are all within a short drive. With the cities of Ipswich and Norwich both within touring distance, Halesworth is an ideal location from which to discover Suffolk.
