“Very good development of the site but perhaps it could do with a few more home comforts such as a colourful rug or two and a separate armchair.”

Beds are very comfortable and the site is nice and quiet. Good facility for walking the dog in the attached green space. Wifi for each lodge would be good too as one has to go up to near the reception area in order to get a signal. Josh, the site manager was very helpful and is a nice chap.

The property

Tawny Lodge lies on the outskirts of the small ancient village of Laxfield, surrounded by fellow holiday homes, it boasts style and excellence with its simple and classic design.

It’s best suited for a small family because of its double and single bedroom, or maybe a group of friends looking to explore the eastern countryside in England.

All on a ground-floor level and suitable for wheelchair users, this property is finished to a wonderfully high standard.

An open-plan living space keeps the room bright and open, benefiting from bi-folding patio doors, and a plush L-shaped sofa arrangement that you can nestle into on a quiet evening.

A lovely dining area fills one end of the room, whilst the kitchen fills the other end, equipped with contemporary appliances with ample room for more than one chef at a time to work some culinary magic.

When the evening sets in, head over to the bedrooms where you can choose from a king-size double, or a single room decorated in lovely grey hues, contrasted with wooden furniture, served by the large shower room, which has the benefit of handrails for those less able.

The White House Lodge’s site benefits from some fantastic on-site facilities, such as a cinema/games room which you can book beforehand to enjoy all to yourself and your party, while the beautiful countryside around you affords you great opportunities for walking.

The village of Laxfield is extremely attractive and well-worth spending some time strolling about the streets and enjoying the historic buildings and architecture.

Slightly further afield to the east coast is Dunwich Heath and Beach, a National Trust owned area, popular for walks and birdwatching, affording some lovely rural scenery, and there is a tea room and shop where you can take rest with tea and cake.

Tawny Lodge is a simply wonderful property for those who want to fully relax in this rural retreat.
