  • "Lovely cottage."

Has all the "cottage feel" of beams etc but rooms are far more spacious than you would expect. Well equipped kitchen and bathroom. You have all the benefits of being in a peaceful small village with no traffic but at same time you are close to a junction of the A14 so can quickly get to any attraction. There is a good sized parking space at back of cottage but you need to get through a narrow lane between cottages to access. That said a neighbour can get his work van through the gap and we had no problems...but a nervous driver might struggle. Mary made us most welcome. Loved it!

Nothing is too much trouble, both to help guests and in the way the house is presented. It is both elegant and functional, which is never easy to achieve, especially with a holiday property. We had such a snug stay that we were often tempted into staying at ‘home’ rather than going out to explore. Everything you could want plus such a comfortable bed!’

  • "Bluebird Cottage was the perfect place for us to relax as the location was quiet without being too isolated."

It is only a 5 minute drive to the A14 and most places in East Anglia are accessible from there easily. Mary, the owner, was there to welcome us and the cottage has obviously been renovated to a high standard recently. We had everything we needed and Mary was on hand to answer any questions. Ickworth House, Bury and Newmarket are all one 15-20 minute drive away and Cambridge, Ely and Ipswich are reachable in less than an hour. I would recommend Bluebird Cottage to any couple or small family who want to escape the noise and do a little sightseeing as well.

Leading up to our stay, we received plenty of information well in advance and so were able to find and access the cottage without any issue at all. The cottage itself is perfect - well maintained and with all of the appliances you would need. The beds are super comfy, the living room is cosy and the bathroom is great with both a power-shower and a big separate bathtub. The cottage is also perfectly located to be able to explore the local area and beyond. Mary also made the time to pop-by before we let - a lovely touch and so nice to meet you Mary!
