The property

Set in Suffolk countryside on the outskirts of Waldringfield near Martlesham Village, within the grounds of Thatched Farm and next to the owners' home, is this lovely, semi-detached holiday home of Daffodil Cottage.

The accommodation here is pleasant and welcoming, with a charming open-plan living space that offers you a sitting area that centres around an electric fire and TV.

After enjoying a moment of relaxation in front of the fire, continue to the kitchen, a space tucked away behind a set of stairs, and rustle up some mouthwatering meals for all the family to enjoy at the nearby dining table.

A flight of stairs leads to the mezzanine double bedroom, and a second flight of ladder-like steps leads to a small single bedroom, perfect for older children who want their own 'hideaway'; a sofa bed can be found downstairs, to coincide with any extra sleeping arrangements.

The ground-floor shower room has been finished to a good standard, and offers you a walk-in shower to wash the day away in.

Outside this Suffolk cottage is a patio area and shared woodland gardens, ideal for summer dining or an autumn stroll.

In a nearby separate building you will find a well-equipped shared utility room, so you can freshen up any clothes during your self-catered break.

Waldringfield sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the banks of the River Deben, offering local picturesque places to visit and so much to see and do for walkers, cyclists, birdwatchers and golfers alike; making it ideal for those wanting to escape the busyness of the everyday!

Venture into Martlesham Village to find your amenities resting in one, convenient location, including a village shop & post office, a traditional pub, The Red Lion and a highly rated restaurant, Black Tiles.

Why not travel to Woodbridge and spend some time touring the Woodbridge Tide Mill Museums, visiting the Kingston Fields Playground for a picnic or stopping in one of the welcoming cafes dotted along the main street.

Suffolk is home to a wealth of picture-postcard towns, villages and beaches, such as Felixstowe, Thorpeness, Aldeburgh and Suffolk; take your stay even further by visiting these before returning to this delightful base.

Daffodil Cottage is a fantastic break for all the family all year-round.

About the location

Woodbridge 3 miles; Felixstowe 10 miles

This old village, which dates back to Roman times, sits on the fringes of the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just 10 miles from the coast. It is often referred to as 'Old Martlesham' to distinguish it from the newer neighbouring village of Martlesham Heath which is just 40 years old. Martlesham Village is a fantastic base for a cottage holiday, it provides you with the essential amenities in a Post Office Store, two pubs, one of which dates back to the 1500's, and a fish and chip shop. The village is also home to Martlesham Creek, popular for sailing as it flows into the River Deben and down to the coast. If you would rather drive to the coast, visit Felixstowe just 10 miles away, it boasts a wide range of amenities along with a stunning beach with an amusement arcade. Slightly closer is Suffolk's county town, Ipswich, it proves itself to be a great day out with its shopping centre, cinema and series of parks.
