The owner had thought of everything we might need and we were delighted (and surprised) to find ample stocks of tea, coffee, sugar, condiments etc. There were fresh milk, eggs and butter waiting for us in the fridge. The cottage is very comfortably furnished and lots of fluffy towels are provided. Water Street is in the centre of Lavenham so it was an easy walk to all the village facilities. Our dog was with us and we were able to give him plenty of exercise by walking to the end of Water Street where there is a large field with access to a public footpath. The only slight negative is that parking is not actually directly outside the cottage. While there is street parking on Water Street, the section immediately outside Number 20 has double yellow lines. We also found the steps to the front door,to the garden, and the internal stairs rather steep.

The property

This beautiful Grade II listed cottage is ideally located in the heart of Lavenham, renowned for being one of England's finest medieval villages.

Next to Harry Potters birthplace and just a short walk from the centre, you have a range of excellent eateries, boutique shops and galleries.

It is wonderful just to walk around and admire this beautifully presented town and the lovely walks surrounding it.

Guests will love this welcoming and traditional cottage, which has retained many character features throughout and been beautifully furnished to offer pleasant accommodation.

Step into the sitting room, with a delightful open fire making it a wonderful space for relaxing after a day out exploring anytime of the year.

Relax with a book or enjoy a movie with a roaring fire in the winter.

The sitting room leads through to the kitchen, housing everything you could need for a few days away, if you decide to eat in and not indulge in one of the many nearby eateries.

The traditional cottage stairs lead up to a landing with the master bedroom overlooking the front of the property and a smaller second bedroom overlooking the back.

There is a first floor family bathroom, with an elegant bath and shower over, so you can decide how best to prepare for your day.

Outside there is a private sun trap; an enclosed garden with a small seating area is a lovely quiet space and is perfect for a glass of wine in the evening sun while discussing the day's adventures.

A wonderful area for walking and cycling and so much to explore close by.

Ideal for couples, friends and families.

This cottage is ideal for exploring this beautiful, historic part of Suffolk with your family.
