The property

Resting right on the River Alde in the enchanting village of Orford, is this beautiful, two-bedroom Cottage On The Green.

With free roadside parking and an enclosed garden for you and your four-legged friend to enjoy, this traditional-style property is perfect for an idyllic family holiday to Suffolk.

Each of the rooms are linked, giving it a real spacious feel inside, with ceiling beams and exposed brickwork adding character.

Get cosy and warm before the open fire in the sitting room and fully relax after a walk in the countryside or along the coast.

Cook up a tasty meal in the kitchen for you all to enjoy in the dining room, then you might want to chat late into the evening over a bottle of wine and plan day trips out and about.

The cottage-style staircase takes you to the bedrooms on the first floor, both oozing bags of character and plenty of storage space, while the family bathroom remains on the ground floor, offering a bath tub and shower over.

Make the most of the mature garden on a sun-filled day and enjoy a picnic on the lawn or choose a quiet spot to read your book.

Orford is dominated by the remains of a 12th-century castle keep and is also home to Ruth Watson's hotel and restaurant The Crown and Castle.

There are also two excellent pubs, an iconic fish restaurant, a village shop and the famous Pump Street bakery, where you can try their scrumptious range of chocolate delight and take home a serving of delicious bread and pastries to have back at home with a cup of tea.

There is some superb walking and cycling in the area to burn off those extra calories, with a fantastic single track nearby taking you to Tunstall Forest.

Enjoy boat trips to Orford Ness, where you will discover the nature reserve and Havergate Island, both a delight for birdwatching and wildlife spotting.
