  • "Good location for the town and dog walks."

21st century central heating, cooker, fridge and comfy beds. The roll top bath was impractical and unsafe as a shower. A stair carpet and rugs and curtains would improve the decor and not detract from the 1930s character of the house. The sofa and one easy chair was in need of repair.

  • "The house is beautiful and very special."

The beds were very comfortable with good mattresses which is unusual for a holiday let in our experience. Also the curtains were better than the usual holiday let so we weren't always woken up by the sun. The lack of laundry facilities came as a surprise and should have been highlighted on the listing with details of laundrette options. The house is infested with spiders and there were no dusters to clean them away with. Could have done with simple comforts: more coasters and side tables.

  • "Cleanliness was ok but there were lots of cobwebs (including spiders!"

) in corners and behind the double bed. We were a little concerned about the electrics in the hall (two way switch sometimes didn’t work), also are those lead pipes in the kitchen?!

  • "Just like stepping back in time."

Loved the fluffy towels and cotton bed linen. Short stroll to the high street and nice enclosed garden for the dog (the gardener in me would like to see some planting though!)

  • "We had a fabulous stay at the Vintage House."

Would most certainly return. So conveniently situated, being near to local shops and the seafront. Looking forward to a return visit soon.

  • "The Vintage House is an experience - this is our second time of staying and we thoroughly enjoyed it."

It is authentic and wouldn't suit everyone but we really enjoy the uniqueness. The only issue we encountered was one of the chairs in the lounge had gone for repair which only left seating for 3 and there were 4 of us. However, this was rectified once I contacted the office but it would have been better if this had been sorted prior to our arrival.

The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain.
