  • "A lovely, well equipped property in a great location especially to visit Southwold which is one of our favourite spots."

    As this was a late October stay we got the opportunity to use the log burner which was fantastic. Wouldn’t hesitate to rebook in the future and possibly consider the other larger property on site.

  • "This cottage/barn is in a very, very rural location."

    After a long journey, it would have been nice of the owners to leave milk in the fridge as no shops near by. This property is on a farm. Wasn't impressed at first arrival. Better sign post of this property needed especially when arriving in the dark (after 4pm) . When giving our dog his last walk of the evening a torch would have been great . Just a feed back to the owners. The tree at the end of the turning for the property where the bins are is bending right over. Needs cutting down. It's looks like it's ready to come down ! Also the dinner plate shower in cubicle needs descaling. Huge disappointment! Haven't said all this the property was very comfortable, clean and warm .

  • "I would have given 5 for facilities and maintenance but we did not get a welcome pack although it was mentioned in the property guide."

    We had a few traffic hold ups on the way and arrived later than intended and then had to go out again to get milk. The cottage was very comfortable and in a great area. Food at the nearby Queens Head was excellent.

  • "Beautiful, quirky converted band – in the middle of the countryside."

    Prepare to be woken by a rooster, and see horses, a peacock, and chickens. A car in needed to make the most of the wonderful area. Would certainly stay again.

  • "Had a lovely time at Onna`s Stable."

    Comfotable beds. Unusual photos, paintings and posters everywhere. It was good to see the horses, chicken family and the peacock. The peacock thought it was a good idea to sit in our garden and sunbathe there. Beware of poo in the garden from him. The cottage is very near lots of towns, villages and seaside areas so dosn`t take long to visit them each day. The signal is not good in this area but there is wifi in the cottage.

  • "Beautiful cottage in delightful setting ."

    Kitchen well equipped. Mediterranean garden was a pleasure to sit in for breakfast . The artwork is very interesting. We enjoyed the wildlife . Peacock , barn owl and the chickens . Wonderful location for latitude . We cycled in and avoided all the queues. Sorry we had to leave before the end of our week as we all had commitments. Just wondered as booking said welcome pack and guest book mentioned one . However not for us !!! This didn’t detract from our stay . Book early if you want it for latitude next year

  • "Lovely property and so peaceful."

    Name of property needs adding to the sign near the road. Foliage needs trimming back on the drive down to the property. Loved the chickens, horses, peacock and cat such a lovely rural environment. Also the wildlife especially the owls. Having lived down the road in Darsham as a teenager it bought back so many memories of the true Suffolk.

    we have trimmed the hedge back - thank you so much for letting us know - the sign on the road should be very clear - have gone down and scrubbed the algae off! Property Owner

  • "The property is quirky with beautiful pieces of artwork all around."

    Both bedrooms lovely with very comfy beds. Really lovely spot away from it all . Great food at the local pub, 25 mins walk down a quiet lane. There is a charming cockerel so if you’re sensitive to such noises maybe take ear plugs. We would highly recommend.

    The furnishings and decor are excellent - we loved the art and photos throughout and everything you need is provided. We delighted in watching Tom, the turkey and the peacock give incredible displays. The stable is a great base for exploring Suffolk and I thoroughly recommend a stay.

The delightful Suffolk market town of Halesworth is full of character, with old buildings, a weekly market held on a Wednesday and a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants, which are predominantly independent. The Halesworth Town Trail offers a walk through the town whilst learning about its history, whilst within easy reach is the gentle, undulating surrounding countryside, which is ideal for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers. The beautiful Suffolk Heritage Coastline features unspoilt heathlands and the RSPB Minsmere Nature Reserve, whilst the internationally renowned Snape Maltings Concert Hall, and the delightful coastal towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh are all within a short drive. With the cities of Ipswich and Norwich both within touring distance, Halesworth is an ideal location from which to discover Suffolk.
