“Fantastic owners and welcome, the lodge is in close proximity to the main house so it’s great that Linda and Mark are lovely, lovely people.”
We stayed with our two girls and they were invited to play in the main garden which was very kind of Linda & Mark. Poppy Lodge is perfect for a getaway with a great pub in easy walking distance. The hot tub was a lot better than I expected from a blow up hot tub. It was that good I’m thinking of investing in one for home! Poppy Lodge #relaxandenjoy
“The owners were friendly and welcoming.”
Everything exactly as described on website. Poppy Lodge was a great base to return to after days out exploring the area.
“Great cottage, ideally situated for visiting nearby sites of interest.”
Well equipped, the air-con in the lounge and bedroom was very welcome as was the hot tub! Would recommend to others and consider visiting again.
“A lovely very well equipped cottage, big comfy bed and the hot tub was a welcome treat.”
The weather was perfect so all in all a perfect weekend treat for a special birthday. Would like to return again one day.
“Wonderful weekend away”
We have just had a lovely weekend away at Poppy Lodge. Following our first night there it was our first overnight stay without our 10month old son (thank goodness for grandparents aka International Rescue). The property is well equipped and provided everything we needed for our weekend. Mark and Linda were incredibly welcoming and were on hand for any queries we had during our stay. We felt Poppy Lodge was excellent value for money, especially with the lovely hot tub too. The wetroom was a great source of entertainment for our son who was in his element splashing away freely. Location is great for trips to the surrounding areas, we enjoyed trips to Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh and Woodbridge, however barely scratched the surface of places we could have gone too. There is also a big Tesco in nearby Martlesham (15min drive) and a CoOp in nearby Wickham Market so amenities are close by if needed. We look forward to returning at some point in the future for another weekend away.

“When we arrived there was a problem with a smell from the boiler which pervaded the whole cottage.”
It did affect our sleep the first 3 nights. After the plumber came in on the Monday the smell went. The wet room does need a thorough cleaning blitz. There are area's of mold around the skirting boards. However, the power shower is fantastic; plenty of hot water too. The kitchen also needs a thorough clean, especially the cooker & fridge. There was a baking tray in the oven with grease all over it & milk rings on the glass shelves in the fridge. Bed linen & towels were spotless. Bed super comfortable. The hot tub is wonderful. Great to use whilst knee deep in snow!
“We felt the wet room needed updating.”
Larger basin, new toiltet seat, shower head and floor mop - all below standard expected for four star. Probably the coldest week of the year but the property was beautifully warm and cosy.
“A lovely place to stay at the top of the owners garden.”
Very peaceful. The hot tub was lovely after a long day walking or cycling. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
“Had a lovely time here, would definitely consider going back to Poppy Lodge for a quiet weekend away.”
Hosts were very welcoming and met us the evening we arrived to show us how to use the hot tub, oven, etc. I would recommend this property to both couples and small groups of friends.
“Amazing holiday :)”
“Nice spacious cottage.”
Quiet location. We all enjoyed the hot tub. Ideal base for plenty of locations.
“Fabulous warm and friendly hosts, great little lodge and perfect location for exploring Suffolk.”
Very peaceful. Would certainly stay again!
“We found the owners extremely friendly and helpful and far exceeded our expectations.”
The advice on places to visit was invaluable. I am sure visit them again in future.
“Poopy lodge is amazing, lovely area and atmosphere.”
Hosts were just so kind and helpful. A lot of places to visit round. Would definitely visit again
“It's a beautiful lodge with very the very friendly Mark en Linda.”
“Mr and Mrs Newland were most welcoming and friendly and we had a wonderful short break in Poppy Lodge which we may well book again.”
The location was excellent, near to everything we wanted to see, yet quiet and tucked away. The living room and bedroom were both of a good size and comfortably furnished and the hot tub was great. I have no hesitation in recommending Poppy Lodge and the Newlands to other visitors
“We had a truly relaxing private experience at Poppy Lodge.”
It was everything we could have asked for. Spent most of the weekend relaxing in the hot tub. The lodge itself was beautiful and welcoming. It felt like home straightaway. We will definitely be visiting Poppy Lodge again and recommending it to our friends and family.
“Poppy Lodge was a real home from home with all you need.”
The owners Linda and Mark made us welcome and the cottage was immaculate throughout. It was a lovely setting in the village but near enough to main road for access to places to visit. We really enjoyed our stay there.
