"Positives
- spacious
- garden was a good size
- garden was dog proof
- smart TV
- kitchen was well equipped with glasses, utensils etc."
Negatives
- not enough seating in the lounge for us all which could easily be sorted as there is space
- fridge door difficult to open and stuck.
- upstairs bathroom sink was dirty and didn't look like it had been cleaned properly.
- large bedroom upstairs smelt stale and of an old people's home
- blue bottle problem in the kitchen. We couldn't work out where they were coming from.
- damp in dinning area- paint shedding off wall.
If the front drive area was tweaked a little, there would be plenty of room for 3 cars.
Finally, there was a building site next door which was noisy. We were not informed about this. I rang Best of Suffolk to complain who said they would investigate and get back to me but I was not called back. I also contacted the number in the house holder for the lady who was specifically highlighted as looking after Rippleway and I left a message but was never called back. Poor service and I was left upset and disappointed.

"This is the second time we have stayed at RIppleway and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday."
The only minor issue was the loose light fitting in the bathroom upstairs. A decent dustpan & brush would be useful.
We would definitely consider returning as lovely quiet location in a beautiful village.

"We recently returned for our second stay at Rippleway and overall had a very enjoyable and relaxing time."
The property remains a great choice, with plenty of positives that make it a strong holiday rental, though there are a few areas where some improvements could really elevate the experience.
Positives:
* The house is exceptionally clean and thoughtfully laid out, making it feel welcoming and easy to settle into.
* The kitchen is very well-equipped with everything you need, and both the indoor dining area and outdoor seating options are great for meals and socialising.
* The garden is beautiful and well-maintained—perfect for dogs and children alike.
* The location is ideal: close to the beach, pub, and local shops, and wonderfully peaceful during evenings and weekends.
* The showers are powerful and work well, though they may feel a bit tight for those with a larger frame.
* It’s really convenient to have a dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer, and there are ample cleaning products provided, which is a thoughtful touch.
Areas for Improvement:
* The absence of a welcome basket or even basic supplies like tea, coffee, or milk on arrival was a bit of a letdown.
* The lounge seating is limited and doesn’t comfortably accommodate 8 people. Only 5 people can sit down on a seat. Reconfiguring the space—perhaps mounting the TV above the fireplace—could free up room for more generous seating.
* The oven is quite noisy and would benefit from a service to address the door and seal issues.
* The summerhouse has potential to be a lovely space but currently feels a bit neglected. Replacing the plastic furniture with something more inviting, adding fairy lights and a table, could transform it.
* Reclining chairs or sun loungers would be a great addition—we brought our own this time.
* There’s no BBQ, which was missed. Even a gas option (available at an extra cost) would be a welcome feature.
* A general refresh of the property—some redecorating and investment in newer furniture—would really take Rippleway from very good to exceptional.
Overall:
Rippleway continues to be a solid and enjoyable place to stay, especially for dog owners and families looking for a coastal break. With a few updates and thoughtful additions, it could easily become a standout holiday home. We’d be happy to return again and hope to see some of these improvements made for future visits.

"We had a wonderful stay at Rippleway in Walberswick."
It is a beautiful house with everything you could want. It’s perfectly situated in a quiet little road with parking but so close to the beach, tea rooms and pubs. The kitchen is the heart of the house and was perfect for socialising. Our party of eight people were all very happy and enjoyed our trip. Thank you so much.

"-Very well equipped kitchen
-iPod dock speaker was not compatible with any of our phones Android or iPhone as the connection was too old."
-property was surface clean but needed a deep clean, skirting boards, corners were dirty etc . Carpets getting grubby and would benefit from a vax
- lovely table in the garden, a real aun trap. It would have nice to have had some cushions for the chairs
Overall a very spacious property for a family stay.

"A lovely property, very clean."
Recommended for a family. One small criticism ....... no welcome pack on arrival meant that the grandchildren had to nip off sharpish to the local shop before it shut. In the past we have had a few essentials provided on arrival.....tea, coffee, milk, bread etc. but not on this occasion, unfortunately.

"Just returned from a super-relaxing week at Rippleway."
The house was perfect for us, the dogs loved exploring the large contained garden and we were lucky enough with the weather to be able to sit outside and enjoy it. We have booked to come back next year as we enjoyed it so much.
The house was super clean, no evidence of cobwebs or dust. The kitchen was one of the most well-equipped kitchens I have seen in a holiday rental.
The lounge was comfortable to sit in and watch tv although we couldn’t get all the channels to work (ITV was missing for example). But the internet was good enough to stream so it didn’t matter.
Beds were comfortable and showers were good.
An excellent pub is 2 minutes walk, the beach and shops, tea room, a second pub, 5 minutes walk. We walked to Dunwich and back on the beach which was 7.5 miles but all flat and had an excellent lunch at The Ship.
The only recommendation I would make is please please invest in a new hoover. One equipped for dog hair would be great as the Henry just doesn’t cut it. I did my best to clean up but it was hard work.

"Overall the house is lovely."
However there were lots of areas covered in dust, bugs and lots of spider webs. It hasn’t been deep cleaned for a long time. All the standard cleaning was done such as floors and the counters ect. Bed sheets and towels were lovely, pillows on the beds are very old and need replacing. The bathrooms were in good shape and very clean. The sky light in the kitchen was particularly dirty with bugs and spider webs. The kitchen was very well stocked but there were no cleaning products or bin bags or soap in the bathrooms. We had four dishwasher tablets for our stay. If this isn’t to be provided in the house whilst asking guests to maintain the cleanliness of a home, especially one that hosts a lot of people, guests need to be informed at the time of booking or in the confirmation to bring their own household cleaning products.
The garden was very well kept and pretty / of a great size. The living areas were all up to date with TV’s and devises required to accommodate.
The village is charming and well worth the visit.
We very much enjoyed our stay however these notes on the cleanliness I hope will assist to improve the quality of your service.

What a lovely property, in such a beautiful location
Very well kitted out too in the kitchen - only thing missing was a jug for drinks
The only down side was it felt damp in the downstairs bedroom, and in the lounge the settees were damp or dusty
Other than that a great stay thank you

"The house is lovely and the garden is wonderful and so safe."
My granddaughter absolutely loved being able to toddle around the garden.
I did find cleanliness a bit of an issue as it looked as though some of the rooms did not appear to have been hoovered and the stairs hadn't either.
Either that or a new hoover is needed. The outside patio could have done with a good sweep as well; if I had found a brush I would have done it.
Other than that and the cleaner forgetting to leave the key for when I arrived so I couldn't get in, we had a wonderful time. I think a small welcome pack would be a good idea.

"The whole family travelled to Rippleway to celebrate my wife's 80th birthday."
It is an ideal property in a lovely location. We tripped out for walks to places such as Southwold (via the quaint hand rowed ferry) and eat seafood along the way. We used the local pub the Anchor on 2 occasions and found the food excellent on both trips, if a little expensive. The property suited us very well and there were only one or two slight negatives
1
The bedroom curtains should be blackout types as the morning light woke us quite early. Especially those in the bedroom with the en-suite.
2 we were unlucky to have had an attack by ants in the kitchen. Too late for owners to remedy.
Overall a very pleasant experience

We had a really lovely time. We know Walberswick well but being able to stay there, in such a lovely house and garden was really special. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. Even the fridge was more than big enough - which is the first time ever!
A short stroll to the centre of the village and the beach - and the weather was amazing, even in April!? Thank you very much : )

A welcome pack would of been nice - maybe surprised not to of had anything left? Think it would be appreciated and go down well with guests.
However, we throughly enjoyed the property and our time in lovely Walberswick - thankyou.
