"Very comfortable and well- equipped flat in great location close to museum, theatre and tennis centre."
Easy walk to restaurants and sea front. A lovely base to tour Sussex treasures including Beachy Head and South Downs, Pevensey Castle and Battle Abbey, seaside towns, Charleston and NT properties. Barry and Adele gave us a warm welcome and good recommendations. Will recommend!
-
"What lovely accomodation, Adele & Barry are so friendly & helpful, Would love to stay again if we are in the area."
-
"Fairly spacious with good access to the town and seafront."
Parking permit provided for each day. Nice reclining sofas. Only downside was the pathetic shower. Water pressure was non-existent.

"Just perfect."
The flat is so light, spacious and comfortable. Felt at home as soon as we arrived. The welcome pack and all the extras were much appreciated. This place really is as good as the reviews say. Wish we could have stayed for longer.

"A lovely spacious flat, very comfortable with all you need for a great week."
Owners were very welcoming and nice treats awaited us including chocolates, cake and milk etc so we could have a nice cup of tea on arrival. Very close to beach, shops and buses, we enjoyed some lovely walks and only used the car once. Would certainly use again if holidaying in the same area.

"Very Friendly and helpful Hosts."
When we arrived Barry assisted us with our luggage. Apartment, very bright Clean and comfortable. We were left Cake, Chocolates, and Flowers on the table, the kitchen was well stocked with all we could need. Great location close to the Seafront and Town Centre. Thanks Chris. 08/09/2023

"We were shown around when we arrived by Barry and Adele who were very welcoming."
It was pouring with rain, and we arrived early, so they very kindly let us leave our luggage at the property while they continued to make it ready for us and we went for a coffee. We were pleasantly surprised with how spacious, clean and comfortable the apartment was. We were given chocolates, cake, flowers and lots of treats on our arrival which was a lovely thought and makes all the difference. Only one small thing, and that was more of a joke between us than a complaint, and that is that all the wall mirrors were set to high for me at 5'3". A lovely base for exploring Eastbourne and the surrounding area. We arrived by train so we used the buses which were very reliable and regular to get us out and about, and about 5-10mins walk depending on which bus stop to use. Lots of good places to eat within walking distance. We have already recommended it to our friends and family and will definitely be staying again in the future. A note: just to make you aware, there are a lot of steps up to the front door and more up to the top where the apartment is, in all I think we counted 49.

"Friendly and helpful hosts, assisting us with luggage on arrival."
Great location, close to the seafront, town centre and amenities. A bright, spacious and comfortable apartment.
-
"A lovely property, situated within walking distance of all local amenities and ideal for exploring further afield."
Spotlessly clean and well cared for. Would recommend to anyone.
-
"Lovely comfortable apartment, so close to seafront, bars and restaurants."
Ideal location in the heart of Eastbourne. The apartment was well equipped with everything you need for a great holiday.
-
"Very spacious flat, comfortable and very clean."
Central situation, very close to the art gallery. Usually possible to get a parking space close to the house, occasionally we had to park down the road or round the corner. Owners were very helpful in moving luggage as it's up 2 flights of stairs, and also helpful with an additional parking permit when our relatives visited. Only downside I think is that there isn't anywhere to sit outside in nice weather
-
"A roomy and well-equipped top-floor apartment, full of light and air."
It's close to the centre of Eastbourne, plus the seafront and the Towner art gallery, yet still blissfully quiet. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The whole place was spotlessly clean and fresh. In fact, it's one of the best holiday apartments we have ever stayed in.
-
"Excellent accommodation, spacious, comfortable and well equipped."
Accommodation is on the 2nd floor, but stairs are wide and well lit. All one needed and more is provided, including 3 TVs and 2 sets of door keys. Friendly and helpful hosts with carrot cake, milk, chocolates and flowers and much more provided. Located centrally for town, beach and theatres. Parking via daily permits which were efficiently provided for us. Difficult to find any faults or extra needs, other than perhaps some brighter lights in the lounge for reading, We've already booked for 2024.
-
"An excellent place to stay."
The property was warm and comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. Very good position for the seafront, town centre and great access to buses and trains to travel further afield. Thank you to our hosts.
-
"Made us very welcome."
Great hosts tanks for the chocolate cake and bits lovely. Just wished dogs were accepted
-
"We really enjoyed our stay at Saltwood."
The owners have definitely thought of everything you might need for your stay, in a bright, spacious and comfortable apartment. Saltwood is an ideal base for exploring Eastbourne and the surrounding areas, either by foot or car.
-
"The apartment is very luxurious and a lovely place to spend a week’s holiday."
We received a warm welcome and we’re helped with carrying out suitcases up the 2 flights of stairs. It was a nice touch to be provided with milk, cake and chocolates. Car parking was straight forward and the apartment was close to all the bus routes and the train station. I would recommend the walks to Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters. Would definitely spend another holiday here in the future
-
"Quite clearly the best accommodation I have ever stayed in for tennis week and I've been going to Eastbourne since 1980."
The welcome I got from the owners was amazing as well as the provisions there for my use. Hope to come back to Saltwood again.
-
"The flat was very well equipped and nicely decorated with everything provided for a good holiday."
It was situated within easy reach of Eastbourne’s attractions.
-
"We truly enjoyed our stay at Saltwood."
We were made to feel very welcome on arrival, and lots of consumables were laid on (including carrot cake). The flat is clean, comfortable and spacious, with all mod-cons, and is situated in a lovely area in Eastbourne just a couple of blocks from the front. The locality ('Little Chelsea') is bustling with independent shops, cafes and restaurants, and is within short walking distance to theatres and art galleries. Parking was no issue during our stay - just remember to fill in and display the supplied permit for each day. Highly recommended.
-
"Our second fantastic stay."
So clean, so comfortable.
-

"Good location, excellent hosts ie warm welcome, thoughtful & generous extras eg milk in fridge, cake, chocolates."
Very confortable accommodation
-
"The property was exactly as depicted in the pictures and furnished sympathetically to a high standard."
It was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped and was in a perfect, quiet location within easy walking distance of beach, restaurants and shops. Parking permit was provided and there was always a space available near the property. Thank you Adele and Barry for the chocolates, cake, flowers and all that was supplied in the kitchen. It was like a home away from home and we were lucky to have good weather but if you did have to stay in for a day it was a comfortable place to stay in. Sally, Mark, Josie
-
"The accommodation was excellent, as was the reception from our hosts."
The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Very close to both the sea front and a varied array of shops. The only obvious drawback is the number of stairs to the 2nd floor flat, if you have difficulty with that situation. But still worth a second visit.
-
"The position of the property was excellent and the owners went out of their way to ensure that everything went well with our stay."
Everything you could possibly need was provided with extra little treats too!! Highly recommended
-
"Lovely spacious flat with really friendly owners, walking distance to town."
Would definitely recommend.
-
"Saltwood is a lovely, large and comfortable flat on a quiet road and just 5 minutes walk from the beach, 10 minutes from the main shopping area."
It was a pleasure to return to the flat after our excursions. The owners live in the flat below and were incredibly pleasant and helpful. Thank you! We stayed 9 days at the beginning of November - the weather was glorious. A 7-mile circular walk to the top of Beachy Head was the highlight - I did it twice! We heartily recommend Saltwood (and Eastbourne).
-
"Excellent welcome, ideal location for restaurants, the sea and walks."
Very comfortable, warm and we'll equipped apartment.
-
"Spacious, well located accommodation."
-
"Saltwood, flat 3, was excellent."
Contained EVERYTHING anyone could need for a self catering holiday. The flat itself was spotlessly clean, most furniture and utensils were brand new and the owners, Barry & Adele, were very amenable from waiting to greet us to the gifts of flowers, chocolates and cake along with milk, tea and coffee provided plus more than enough toilet paper!!! Great location to explore the south downs, national trust properties and excellent local restaurants all within a short stroll away. Highly recommend Saltford!
-
"A warm welcome at the door and assistance with carrying cases to the very comfortable, spacious, clean and adequately equipped apartment."
The apartment is in easy reach of the beach and shopping centre.
-
"We had a fantastic stay at Saltwood house."
The apartment was clean, homely and very welcoming. Fantastic location and Eastbourne is a great place. Thank you to Barry, Adele and Fiona!
-
"Lovely apartment large bright and airy rooms."
Everything we could need in kitchen. It was a home rather than a stark holiday rental. Location great for town and seafront. Will definitely return.
-
"The accommodation was clean comfortable and very convenient for all of ..."
The accommodation was clean comfortable and very convenient for all of Eastbourne The owners met us and showed us around and made us feel very welcome and left us some welcome goodies that were most appreciated Despite the weather we had a wonderful stay and would recommend the apartment to anyone wanting to stay in Eastbourne, as it is so well located especially for the theatre, town and tennis Our only negative comment would be that the pillows were very soft so when we come next time we will bring our own - but that is just personal preference
-
"Brilliant location."
One of the cleanest places we have ever stayed in.A real home from home .Welcome from the Owner was very friendly and helpful and the extra "treats supplied "were very welcome and a nice gesture. On a personal level we found the mattresses too soft for our comfort and that would make us question returning but if they were replaced by firmer mattresses we would return anytime we were in that neighbourhood.
-
"A delightful top floor flat."
Spacious, light and airy. It’s comfortable and well equipped. It is ideally placed for the seafront and close to bus stops. We caught the bus out to the Seven Sisters Country Park and walked back. Perfect!
-
"Our holiday at Saltwood was perfect and, in addition, we had wonderful weather."
It was such a pleasure to stay in such a beautifully appointed, well-equipped, spacious and spotless apartment where every effort has been made to accommodate the comfort of guests. We were so close to the centre of Eastbourne that we did not have to bother with our car which remained in a free parking area within sight of where we were staying. We have rented a range of holiday accommodation in and around Eastbourne over many years - but this one we would not hesitate to recommend.
-
"The house is absolutely lovely and the hosts are great!"
The location is amazing, the flat is full of natural light and has everything one might need (and more). Would definitely try to come back!

About the location
EASTBOURNE
Seaford 9.5 miles; Battle 16.5 miles; Lewes 17 miles; Hastings 17.5 miles; Brighton 24 miles.
Eastbourne is the perfect location for a seaside holiday and has been since Queen Victoria was on the throne. With its mild climate and easy access from London, this lovely coastal town has increased its appeal throughout the centuries. With 5 miles of award-winning shingle beaches to stroll along, you can enjoy the sea air even if you aren't quite ready for a swim. Eastbourne's historic pier, built in around 1866, offers entertainment all day and well into the night with its amusement arcade, cafes, shops, and nightclub, and from here you can even take a speed boat ride around the bay. After a day of visiting the museums, art galleries or numerous antiques shops in the town, why not sit and watch the waves roll by as you enjoy afternoon tea in Victorian Tea Rooms on the pier? Golfers are spoilt for choice with four golf courses close by, and tennis is also a popular sporting choice with the AEGON International women’s and men’s tournaments taking place in June prior to Wimbledon. There is even an Eastbourne Extreme weekend, with demonstrations in mountain biking, skateboarding, sailing, windsurfing and many other sports, so if you are energetic and willing, get down there and join the fun! For those who prefer to be entertained, take your seats in one of the four major theatres that Eastbourne is home to, offering all types of entertainment from traditional seaside shows and musicals to classical ballets and opera. If you are lucky enough to be here in August, bring a picnic and be prepared for Airbourne, an international flying event which passes over the sea. If you fancy a day away from the beach, there are many other places to visit in Eastbourne, including Treasure Island for warm, sunny days or the Drusillas Park Zoo. So, if you are looking for a holiday spot with something for everyone, look no further than Eastbourne.
