  • "Cheap sweaty polyester duvets, up stairs bed needs renewal as saggy with no support."

Just small cheap mugs, not a tea cup in sight, Not even a pint of milk on arrival.Smelly empty fridge. Very mean vibe despite beautiful surroundings. Minimal towel provision, no allowance for a change of towel. Just bath towel, no face towels.

I am sorry you did not like the bed - this is the first comment I have had about the bed and most people comment on how comfortable it is .. We have never been asked for tea-cups either people are usually happy with mugs and there are cups and saucers for coffee. We change the towels if you stay over a week and you were provided with a bath towel and hand towel in each bathroom. I offered you milk on your arrival and you said you had some - this is self-catering accommodation and whenever I leave milk no one uses it so I have stopped supplying it. There is tea/coffee etc with cleaning products. Glad we found the keys and hope you had a good time. Your comments are noted. Thanks Property Owner

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage."

The cottage itself is spacious, very comfortable and well equipped to make a stay enjoyable. We were blessed with good weather so we could sit outside or have the doors wide open. Its situation is on the edge of woodland, a pleasure to drive through as we came and went from the cottage. Midhurst is very easily accessed within a few minutes while Petersfield and Chichester, rather further away are easy to reach. A few miles down the road towards Chichester is the Weald and downland museum and West Dean College so this would be an ideal venue for someone wanting to reach either. Should we come back to the area I would have no hesitation in trying to book this cottage again.

  • "An amazingly well stocked cottage."

They have thought of everything one might need for a stay. Beautiful surroundings and incredibly peaceful. We were able to walk to the South Downs Way from the cottage which was great. Also try the Unicorn Inn as other people mentioned. We only met the owner when we arrived and didn’t see her again during our stay but we would comment on the fact that this was the first Sykes cottage we have stayed in that there was no welcome pack left for us so if you have travelled a long way as we had done (Canada) be sure and stop in Midhurst to buy milk if you want a cup of tea when you arrive! Tea bags were provided. The cottage is ideal for two couples as one bedroom is on the ground floor and the other upstairs with two very nice bathrooms.

Plenty of places to visit and some great places to eat (we particularly loved the Unicorn Inn). We would certainly stay again.

  • "Long Meadow is a beautiful well-equipped cottage in a stunning location - perfect for a relaxing break."

You wake up to peace and quiet and an amazing view across fields and woodland. The house is down a really quiet, easily accessible road. You can literally walk up the road to access the South Downs forest and heathland with endless paths to explore - a walker's paradise! The bed is comfortable and the house is lovely and warm. The owners were very welcoming. Would love to return and discover more of this beautiful area.

  • "The effort & thought & time gone into furnishing this cottage is of an exceedingly high standard."

The owner Bridget has a gift for interior design which is of excellent quality besides the glorious location with views to die for. It was like being in heaven for a week and now gone back to the hell of outer London … it’s like being in 2 different worlds . We loved going for our morning 4 mile jog through amazing countryside with beautiful woodland & pheasants & young deer bounding along in front of us breathing in pure unadulterated air from the trees! Thank you to the owners for the privilege of spending a week there.

The view from the bedroom is stunning, so quiet and peaceful. The house was very warm and comfortable, and so very well equipped. Midhurst is a lovely town, and there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, even with covid restrictions. If I could have given it eleven I would have.

  • "We had such a lovely break staying at Long Meadow."

The facilities were spot on, it had ever needed. The views over the fields were amazing and the sunsets over the tree tops superb. Such a perfect location, as we wanted something quiet, the shops were a 10 min drive to Midhurst and there you had a choice of 3 supermarkets, such a nice village. You really won’t be disappointed with Long Meadow. It exceeded our expectations and the owner Briget couldn’t have done more, even though she too was away. This will definitely be a place to come back to.

  • "Long Meadow was a fabulous place to stay and we were so well looked after."

The house was exactly what we had hoped for, had all of the facilities we could have wished for and was a fabulous base for exploring the area. We had so many trips out to places such as Uppark Place, Petworth, West Dean Gardens and the Weald and Downland centre. A wonderful discovery was the Three Moles pub in Selham, a proper country pub with huge plates of traditional pub grub and the Village Store in Graffham, which sells anything you coud possiibly need, including fresh bread and home made samosas. A great trip and a wonderful property.
