The property

26 The Portlands is a charming small attached house resting by one of Eastbourne's lovely beaches.

Sleeping two adults and two children, 26 The Portlands is an ideal setting for your next family getaway to the East Sussex coast, within easy reach of Hastings and Brighton.

You are welcomed to the property with two off-road parking spaces; from here, walk through the private front garden and an appealing lawn area with a picnic bench, where you can enjoy eating outdoors in the fresh sea air.

Upon entering the property, you are greeted by a spacious living/dining room, where the electric fire adds warmth to the room as you play a game of cards round the dining table or grab your spot on the sofa ready to flick on the television.

Moving through the well-decorated property, there is a kitchen certain to entice any buddings chefs to cook up a storm to enjoy round the dining table, or prepare a picnic to take to the front garden; there is also a fridge/freezer to keep all your holiday treats and a handy washing /dryer to clean any sandy clothes.

Heading upstairs, you will discover a bathroom, where you can take a long bubble bath to wind down for the evening, or grab a quick splash in the rain shower, and freshen up in style in front of the well-lit mirror.

When the evening draws to a close, the children will find peace in the bunk room as you read them a book whilst sat in the relaxing armchair, before you head to the double room, decorated with a splash of yellow to fit to the beachside theme, as well as storage to unpack any personal belongings.

Eastbourne is a popular seaside resort, with it's easy links to London and five miles of award-winning shingle beaches; families gather here to take advantage of the amenities and fresh ocean air.

In the town there are many eateries with stunning sea views, museums, art galleries, antique shops and four theatres which show a mixture of shows, musicals, ballets and opera.

For any golfers, you will be stunned by the four golf courses nearby, or take a day off and treat the children to a day at Drusillas Park Zoo or the more local, Treasure Island which is a pirate themed indoor and outdoor adventure park.

In June, Eastbourne is home to AEGON International Tennis Tournament, where as in July the most extreme sports take place with Eastbourne Extreme weekend boasting mountain biking, skateboarding, sailing, windsurfing and always encouraging people to join, and if you're lucky enough to be visiting in August, then don't forget your picnic as you can enjoy the Airbourne International Flying Event taking place over the sea.

The region is bustling with history, in Eastbourne there are war memorials, statues of the Duke's of Devonshire, Martello Tower, the 19th century Wish Tower, and just a short drive into Hastings where you will find the Norman Castle and linking to the 1066 battle, there is a gorgeous Abbey in the neighboring town of Battle.

Eastbourne is the perfect location for a seaside holiday and has been since Queen Victoria was on the throne. With its mild climate and easy access from London, this lovely coastal town has increased its appeal throughout the centuries. With 5 miles of award-winning shingle beaches to stroll along, you can enjoy the sea air even if you aren't quite ready for a swim. Eastbourne's historic pier, built in around 1866, offers entertainment all day and well into the night with its amusement arcade, cafes, shops and from here you can even take a speed boat ride around the bay. After a day of visiting the museums, art galleries or numerous antiques shops in the town, why not sit and watch the waves roll by as you enjoy afternoon tea in Victorian Tea Rooms on the pier? Golfers are spoilt for choice with four golf courses close by, and tennis is also a popular sporting choice with the AEGON International women’s and men’s tournaments taking place in June prior to Wimbledon. There is even an Eastbourne Extreme weekend, with demonstrations in mountain biking, skateboarding, sailing, windsurfing and many other sports, so if you are energetic and willing, get down there and join the fun! For those who prefer to be entertained, take your seats in one of the four major theatres that Eastbourne is home to, offering all types of entertainment from traditional seaside shows and musicals to classical ballets and opera. If you are lucky enough to be here in August, bring a picnic and be prepared for Airbourne, an international flying event which passes over the sea. If you fancy a day away from the beach, there are many other places to visit in Eastbourne, including Treasure Island for warm, sunny days or the Drusillas Park Zoo. So, if you are looking for a holiday spot with something for everyone, look no further than Eastbourne.
