"Regatta Haus is in a lovely setting on the edge of the marina, providing peaceful walks around it and across the shingle beach to the Martello towers."
A retail park with a large Asda and Boots was within 15 mins walk. The property is furnished to a high standard , with all you could need in the kitchen. We did have problems with the central heating/hot water system. This was reported to Sykes, and housekeeping responded within hours, but could not resolve the issue.
Ours was the first warm week of the year (lucky us), but we were unable to turn off the radiators in the two main bedrooms as the valves did not work and turning off the heating turned off the hot water.
Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay.

"Very well furnished property in an excellent position."
We would have liked a TV in the dining/kitchen area rather than every bedroom. This is personal choice of course. A washing line or rotary dryer would have been useful. These are minor points. I would highly recommend a stay at this lovely property.

"The place was in a lovely location but some of the finer points were missed."
There was no washing up liquid or dishcloths. There was an empty tube of tin foil in the drawer and no bin liners for the kitchen bin. The single day bed was very uncomfortable, the matress kept sagging so you were not level when sleeping. The fire alarm would start bleeping in the middle of the night and required a reset. This happened every night.

"Regatta Haus, Sovereign Harbour, Eastbourne
The house is very well equipped and thoughtfully furnished and accessorised in a nautical theme."
It is in an easily accessed, quiet location very close to the marina, with a wide range of restaurants on the Waterfront.
Everywhere was generally very clean and tidy, except kitchen windows which very dirty but neither of the bins in the 2 bathrooms had been emptied from previous occupiers.
Unable to use the rear parking space as the gate was locked from the inside.
The front door was extremely stiff to open and close (we had to kick it at the bottom to get it open and slam it to close)
On arrival it was a very pleasant, warm day – (~24 deg). The conservatory was very hot. Unable to open the rear door, the key would not turn in the lock, no keys for the windows. This also meant we could not access the back gate to the carport to unload our luggage. In the event of an emergency on the ground floor, the inability to exit from the rear door would cause problem.
Once inside, there was continuous beeping of the smoke alarms on each landing. Unable to silence them. Extremely annoying as they beep very loudly every 30 seconds 24/7 so trying to sleep through the night was difficult. (Note: bring your ear plugs!)
All the internal doors have fire reg closers but door wedges had been provided, negating their function in the event of a fire.
No instructions on how to work the TV sound system with its 3 different handsets.
Lounge clock had stopped, but spotted the battery for it laying on the coffee table.
The venetian blinds in the 2nd bedroom were extremely difficult and stiff to operate.
The kind provision of packets of biscuits in the kitchen was a nice gesture, however the Best Before date was January 2024.
Some information in the Welcome Folder re local bus services (which are very good) would be useful.
We had a very nice stay in Eastbourne but considering the price, this property should be a lot better.
We would suggest the owners spend a few days in the house themselves, to experience and identify the issues from a visitor’s point of view.

"The house is set in a great location and was very quiet despite being a town house close to the marina."
The house was fine to stay in as a base for exploring the local area. We had a problem with the faulty oven which was frustrating for the whole week and this tripped the upstairs fuses and showers, thankfully Sykes were on the end of the phone to advise us. We understand this will now be replaced. The house was generally comfortable, and we had a pleasant stay. Our only recommendation for improvements would be the bedding was very rough and uncomfortable, with 'bobbly' sheets and a rough feel to the duvet covers and pillow covers and the top floor double bed was very hard. The carpets has not been thoroughly vacuumed when we arrived and had bits of tissue on them in the bedrooms. The carpets are worn and for the price of the property I would expect better quality bedding and fresher carpets.
Thank you for your comments. In response to the oven when it was reported to Sykes an electrician was sent around the same day to test the electrics and found there to be no faults. Appliances have been PAT tested and the electrical certificate for a new consumer unit was completed in the last 12 months. As a proactive action, we replaced the oven on your departure. You also received compensation for the inconvenience of having the electrician attend.
The beds are less than 12 months old and were purchased to suit the majority of people not being too firm or too soft. We recognise that everyone is different which is why mattress toppers are available in the wardrobes should someone prefer the mattress to be softer. This is also described in the welcome pack on arrival.
The house is cleaned on every rotation day and the floors thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed throughout by an external company from Sykes. Carpets are further subject to a deep clean each month. We do operate a continuous improvement programme and floors in the bathrooms and hallways have been replaced in the last 12 months. The priority list for improvements does include upgrading the carpets however there are other items such as changing the existing heating system to a more sustainable system of higher concern at this time.

"Very nice apartment."
You can see that it is important to the hosts to satisfy their guests in the best possible way. Nice location at the marina. However, the main image does not show the house in question. Anyway, we'd love to come back.

"A lovely property convenient for both the harbour and the beach with good links to Eastbourne."
The property was very well kept and we loved the eclectic mix of decoration. Somebody's well- loved grandparents were clearly represented as well as the straightforward ' Regatta ' theme. Very sweet!
Beds etc were in good condition and comfy and the kitchen was well equipped.
Thank you for your feedback, it really means a lot to us. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and the accommodation. We look forward to welcoming you back soon to the sunshine coast!

"On the whole we had a great time staying at Regatta Haus."
It was in a good location and presented well and clean, with many good places to visit nearby. Only a few minor quibbles: the shower controls in the en suite bathroom were loose (dial came off) - but easy to put back on, the lock on the ground floor toilet was loose and fell out (could put back in but still loose), and the pot pourri in the conservatory was so over-powering we couldn’t sit in there.
Hello and thank you for your comments. The Regatta Haus team are glad that you enjoyed your stay. We have looked at the items that you have raised and have responded. The lock on the downstairs toilet has been tightened and the screws in the towel rail have been replaced. We asked a plumber to look at the shower controls however he confirmed that they are beyond repair and due to the age of model the shower unit will need to be replaced. We are currently looking at the right option for its immediate replacement. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon

"Property modern, good location with views of the marina, very well kept and clean."
Kitchen well stocked with tea, coffee and sugar and biscuits.
Liked the nautical theme through out the house.
Observations - not complaints.
Towel rail in downstairs WC loose on wall
On suite toilet not flushing correctly.
Very noisy electric shower in bathroom.
No instructions for coffee maker or microwave
Suggest a tea tray for carrying tea/coffee upstairs
Regards
Ken Woodcock
Thank you for your comments and we are glad that you had a nice time.
We have replaced the downstairs towel rail and we have had our maintenance team look at the flush valve on the WC.
All of the electric showers have been replaced in the property this year and are quieter than their predecessors, however, being this type of shower the pump will make a sound when in use. Other options were reviewed but with a gravity-fed system, it was felt that the pressure would be compromised too much.
We had looked to add operation instructions to the coffee maker and microwave.
There are trays available at the property in the cupboard next to the fridge.

"Regatta Haus is very well equipped and in a lovely location with views of the harbour."
We had everything we needed for our self catering stay, although we ate out most nights at the restaurants on the Waterfront so didn't do much cooking!
There's lots to do in the surrounding areas but we enjoyed coming back to the comfortable house, and we were lucky with the weather so made the most of the conservatory and sunny garden.
Sykes and the owners acted quickly when I realised I'd stupidly left some personal items and within an hour of contacting them confirmed that they had been found and made arrangements to forward them on -
