  • "The house is set in a great location and was very quiet despite being a town house close to the marina."

The house was fine to stay in as a base for exploring the local area. We had a problem with the faulty oven which was frustrating for the whole week and this tripped the upstairs fuses and showers, thankfully Sykes were on the end of the phone to advise us. We understand this will now be replaced. The house was generally comfortable, and we had a pleasant stay. Our only recommendation for improvements would be the bedding was very rough and uncomfortable, with 'bobbly' sheets and a rough feel to the duvet covers and pillow covers and the top floor double bed was very hard. The carpets has not been thoroughly vacuumed when we arrived and had bits of tissue on them in the bedrooms. The carpets are worn and for the price of the property I would expect better quality bedding and fresher carpets.

Thank you for your comments. In response to the oven when it was reported to Sykes an electrician was sent around the same day to test the electrics and found there to be no faults. Appliances have been PAT tested and the electrical certificate for a new consumer unit was completed in the last 12 months. As a proactive action, we replaced the oven on your departure. You also received compensation for the inconvenience of having the electrician attend. The beds are less than 12 months old and were purchased to suit the majority of people not being too firm or too soft. We recognise that everyone is different which is why mattress toppers are available in the wardrobes should someone prefer the mattress to be softer. This is also described in the welcome pack on arrival. The house is cleaned on every rotation day and the floors thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed throughout by an external company from Sykes. Carpets are further subject to a deep clean each month. We do operate a continuous improvement programme and floors in the bathrooms and hallways have been replaced in the last 12 months. The priority list for improvements does include upgrading the carpets however there are other items such as changing the existing heating system to a more sustainable system of higher concern at this time. • "Very nice apartment."

You can see that it is important to the hosts to satisfy their guests in the best possible way. Nice location at the marina. However, the main image does not show the house in question. Anyway, we'd love to come back.

Thank you for your kind comments we look forward to welcoming you back soon Property Owner

  • "A lovely property convenient for both the harbour and the beach with good links to Eastbourne."

The property was very well kept and we loved the eclectic mix of decoration. Somebody's well- loved grandparents were clearly represented as well as the straightforward ' Regatta ' theme. Very sweet! Beds etc were in good condition and comfy and the kitchen was well equipped.

Thank you for your feedback, it really means a lot to us. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and the accommodation. We look forward to welcoming you back soon to the sunshine coast! Property Owner

  • "On the whole we had a great time staying at Regatta Haus."

It was in a good location and presented well and clean, with many good places to visit nearby. Only a few minor quibbles: the shower controls in the en suite bathroom were loose (dial came off) - but easy to put back on, the lock on the ground floor toilet was loose and fell out (could put back in but still loose), and the pot pourri in the conservatory was so over-powering we couldn’t sit in there.

Hello and thank you for your comments. The Regatta Haus team are glad that you enjoyed your stay. We have looked at the items that you have raised and have responded. The lock on the downstairs toilet has been tightened and the screws in the towel rail have been replaced. We asked a plumber to look at the shower controls however he confirmed that they are beyond repair and due to the age of model the shower unit will need to be replaced. We are currently looking at the right option for its immediate replacement. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon Property Owner

  • "Property modern, good location with views of the marina, very well kept and clean."

Kitchen well stocked with tea, coffee and sugar and biscuits. Liked the nautical theme through out the house. Observations - not complaints. Towel rail in downstairs WC loose on wall On suite toilet not flushing correctly. Very noisy electric shower in bathroom. No instructions for coffee maker or microwave Suggest a tea tray for carrying tea/coffee upstairs Regards Ken Woodcock

Thank you for your comments and we are glad that you had a nice time. We have replaced the downstairs towel rail and we have had our maintenance team look at the flush valve on the WC. All of the electric showers have been replaced in the property this year and are quieter than their predecessors, however, being this type of shower the pump will make a sound when in use. Other options were reviewed but with a gravity-fed system, it was felt that the pressure would be compromised too much. We had looked to add operation instructions to the coffee maker and microwave. There are trays available at the property in the cupboard next to the fridge. Property Owner

  • "Regatta Haus is very well equipped and in a lovely location with views of the harbour."

We had everything we needed for our self catering stay, although we ate out most nights at the restaurants on the Waterfront so didn't do much cooking! There's lots to do in the surrounding areas but we enjoyed coming back to the comfortable house, and we were lucky with the weather so made the most of the conservatory and sunny garden. Sykes and the owners acted quickly when I realised I'd stupidly left some personal items and within an hour of contacting them confirmed that they had been found and made arrangements to forward them on -

About the location

EASTBOURNE

Seaford 9.5 miles; Battle 16.5 miles; Lewes 17 miles; Hastings 17.5 miles; Brighton 24 miles.

Eastbourne is the perfect location for a seaside holiday and has been since Queen Victoria was on the throne. With its mild climate and easy access from London, this lovely coastal town has increased its appeal throughout the centuries. With 5 miles of award-winning shingle beaches to stroll along, you can enjoy the sea air even if you aren't quite ready for a swim. Eastbourne's historic pier, built in around 1866, offers entertainment all day and well into the night with its amusement arcade, cafes, shops, and nightclub, and from here you can even take a speed boat ride around the bay. After a day of visiting the museums, art galleries or numerous antiques shops in the town, why not sit and watch the waves roll by as you enjoy afternoon tea in Victorian Tea Rooms on the pier? Golfers are spoilt for choice with four golf courses close by, and tennis is also a popular sporting choice with the AEGON International women’s and men’s tournaments taking place in June prior to Wimbledon. There is even an Eastbourne Extreme weekend, with demonstrations in mountain biking, skateboarding, sailing, windsurfing and many other sports, so if you are energetic and willing, get down there and join the fun! For those who prefer to be entertained, take your seats in one of the four major theatres that Eastbourne is home to, offering all types of entertainment from traditional seaside shows and musicals to classical ballets and opera. If you are lucky enough to be here in August, bring a picnic and be prepared for Airbourne, an international flying event which passes over the sea. If you fancy a day away from the beach, there are many other places to visit in Eastbourne, including Treasure Island for warm, sunny days or the Drusillas Park Zoo. So, if you are looking for a holiday spot with something for everyone, look no further than Eastbourne.
