10 Customer Reviews

  • "The property was comfortable and clean and located in a lovely peaceful area."

However the property was not as homely as other cottages we have stayed in recently. The WiFi did not work for the duration of our stay and the specified network was not available. We ended up signing into an unsecure Starlink network. The property lacked a few things - a chair in the bedroom, a mirror in the bedroom and an electric shaver point in the bathroom. A table lamp in the living area would have been nice and made the place more homely. Overall a comfortable stay.

  • "Definitely need s coffee maker."

And the TV did not work, no channels available. I texted estate manager and owner but no response, maybe those numbers do not receive texts. Other than that it was an enjoyable stay with beautiful scenery.

  • "Lovely cottage, would definitely go again, only 1 thing I would like to suggest is a light and a socket for an electric shaver in the shower room."

  • "This is a well maintained and equipped property in a very quiet location with views of sheep and horses in the adjoining fields."

The heating was programmed to come on a few times each day which made it warm and cosy. I judge a property by the comfort of the beds and these were exceptional with luxurious bedding and towels. There is plenty of storage space for clothes in both bedrooms. I think a mirror in each bedroom would be an asset as the only one in the property is in the bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped with crockery and cutlery. I'm used to cooking by gas and because there weren't any instructions I couldn't figure out how to use the oven and grill but one quick phone call resulted in the owner coming round and explaining it to me. He also fixed the washing line which had snapped. There's a washing machine, dishwasher and fridge with 3 drawer freezer. The shower is large and powerful. It seemed strange to have bare floors everywhere, even on the stairs, and the noise it created took some getting used to but I understand that the property can be kept clean far easier without the presence of carpets. All in all we had a wonderful time in the Scottish Highlands and it was always lovely to return to this cottage.

Il est spacieux, confortable et propre. Il est également bien situé, à moins d'une heure de plusieurs sites ( Loch Ness, plusieurs châteaux, Fort de Saint Georges, Culloden, Chanonry point ( pour voir les dauphins)...)

  • "Beautiful cottage in an idyllic location."

Very well equipped and spotlessly clean, large garden is an added bonus. Owners are extremely helpful and responded instantly to a query. One Wester is in a great location for visiting many interesting places in the Highlands and it was amazing to see red kites directly from the house and garden.

  • "Great stay."

Really good wee house that was warm and comfortable and very spacious for a 2 bedroom. Location could not have been better, close to mountains and good walking nearby and lots to do in the area. We spotted some deer in the fields surrounding the house and there were Red Kites overhead!! It was a lovely week. Thank you.

Very clean and warm. The location was fabulous, surrounded by fields with views of the mountains the cottage is located on the North Coast 500 route which made it a superb base for exploring. We had some really super days out there is so much to do. We will be back!

About the location

DINGWALL

Strathpeffer 5 miles; Inverness 14 miles; Chanory Point 17 miles.

The attractive market town of Dingwall is situated at the head of the Cromarty Firth and has a rich history dating back to Norse times. The town today enjoys an excellent range of services and facilities, and its pedestrianised main street boasts a generous range of speciality cafes and charming small shops. Why not follow the Dingwall Heritage Trail, a walk that will take only 1 1/2 hours but will provide a wonderful insight into the history of this area? Close to Dingwall is the Victorian spa town of Strathpeffer, which is well worth a visit, or perhaps take a short drive to Chanonry Point where the Moray Firth Dolphins are quite often seen jumping close to shore. There is also the option of seeing red kites at the RSPB Tollie red kites natural reserve, as well as a close proximity to Inverness that allows day trips to Inverness Castle, trampoline park, Inverness Botanic gardens and the many shops on offer.
