From here, choose to wind down for the evening in the snug, where you can light up the woodburning stove before sinking into the sofa and getting lost in a good book, or head into the sitting room, where you can enjoy your favourite show on the TV.

After an action-packed day of exploring, enjoy some peace and quiet by escaping into the family bathroom to run yourself a hot bath and savour a moment of relaxation before finding your sleeping spot.

You have a choice of two spacious double bedrooms and the master suite, which features a plush king-size bed and its own en-suite shower room.

From the doorstep of the cottage, you are a mere stone’s throw away from the village pub, the Cross Keys Inn, a great find for a spot to eat and a well-deserved pint after a long walk.

Alternatively, take a drive into the nearby town of Leyburn, where you will find a plethora of eateries including the well-established Sandpiper Inn and Thirteen, where you have the opportunity to sample the excellent, unashamedly British menu using fresh local ingredients.

Moreover, the town is a shoppers heaven with a market square filled with independent delights, so that you can pick up fresh, local produce for your culinary needs, as well as quirky gifts to take back home.

You could venture further afield to the town of Richmond and look forward to meandering the cobbled streets, home to a weekly farmers market and the ruins of a medieval castle, waiting to be explored.

Attractions to suit the whole family include the famous Forbidden Corner, where you can explore the labyrinth of tunnels, chambers and follies to discover extraordinary statues, which are sure to impress.

Alternatively, make time to visit the Constable Burton Hall Gardens, the ruins of Castle Bolton and Middleham, with its Norman Castle.

For those feeling active, explore the many countryside walks, including a trek to the Aysgarth Falls, or brush up on the local history by visiting Druid's Temple.

With so much to see and do, secure your stay at Brookside Cottage and prepare for a holiday filled with adventure.
