The ground floor has a fitted kitchen and a living/dining room with views over the beautiful valley below.

Just two miles away from the pretty village of Frosterley, this delightful cottage is surrounded by unspoilt countryside and is set in a haven of peace and tranquillity.

The cottage is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a Site of Special Scientific Interest comprised of rugged upland, waterfalls, river valleys and meadows.

Visit Barnard Castle, Egglestone Abbey and Rokeby Hall, all easily reached from your cottage plus Derwent Resevoir and Hexham are a short drive as is the cathedral city of Durham.

With so much to do, this cottage makes an ideal base for an enjoyable relaxing holiday!

Frosterley is a pretty village situated 20 miles from Durham and 26 miles from Newcastle. The area is described as England’s last wilderness and possibly one of the best kept secrets, nearby Bollihope Common, is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and a place of Special Scientific Interest for birdlife and dragonflies, made up of a wonderful blend of rugged upland, impressive waterfalls, fertile river valleys and wild flower meadows. Pleasant market towns dot the area and the historic market town of Barnard Castle lies within easy reach, and boasts castle remains overlooking the town, as well as the impressive Bowes Museum. Built as an impressive French-style chateau, the museum houses a magnificent collection of fine and decorative art. Other places of interest close to Barnard Castle are the ruins of Egglestone Abbey and Rokeby Hall, High Force, Cauldron’s Snout, Derwent Resevoir, Hexham (with stately abbey) is within easy reach, as well as the magnificent cathedral city of Durham.
