The property

Burnlea is well-polished detached, single-storey cottage on the outskirts of Butterknowle.

With sweeping countryside views and an open fire, Burnlea is a cheerful place to call home whilst you explore the beauty of County Durham.

You are greeted to the property with a private driveway which fits two cars, and a front garden which boasts lawn, patio and furniture to enjoy your morning coffee in the fresh air.

Inside the property there is a welcoming sitting room with an open fire and if you can take your eyes off the beautiful views, there is a television to watch your favourite shows.

Moving through there is a kitchen/diner with everything you need for a self-catering stay including a handy dishwasher, and through into the utility there is also a washer/dryer so all guests can keep feeling fresh.

The lovely cottage has three bedrooms; two doubles and a twin, all with built-in wardrobes so guests can unpack any personal belongings, and these rooms are complimented by a contemporary bathroom where guests can soak in a long bath or freshen up with a shower.

The small village of Butterknowle has two pubs, whilst a short drive into Cockfield, you will find another pub and a shop for any essentials you may need, as well as a selection of takeaways.

The nearby market town of Barnard Castle offers a 16th century castle and bridge which makes for a scenic spot, as well as a number of museums and galleries, and the Deepdale Nature Reserve which has the River Tees running through.

In the opposite direction, you can discover the bustling city of Durham where you can explore the Roman Cathedral and Norman Castle, as well as enjoy a good shopping spree!

Also in the area there is the striking Raby Castle, where you can explore its treasures and tapestries, as well as the deer park to get in touch with nature with a lovely farm shop tea room to enjoy.

This pretty village can be found resting on the edge of Teesdale, in County Durham. Within the small village you will be delighted to find a couple of shops, a pub and a selection of takeaways.
