"Pleased, overall, with our stay in Millstone."
The property was spacious and very well equipped with an abundance of crockery, kitchen utensils, etc. There were a few niggles - blinds in the master bedroom were incomplete and only two bulbs worked in the light fitting in the kitchen. Just little things which would be easy to rectify.
It was very good value for money.

"We had a lovely stay over the weekend."
The accommodation is well equipped for families with a secret toy cupboard under the stairs that we found on the 2nd day!
The furniture and decor could do with a little update (some mould in the main bedroom shower) but happy with the price we paid for the weekend!
Thank you!

"Lovely and cosy and nice and warm."
Lovely towels and comfortable beds. We didnt use the sauna but it was a great added extra.
The upstairs is a great space for a group of friends or family.
The bathrooms are very modern and fresh and clean.

"We had a fantastic holiday at Millstone."
The play area was a big hit and it was lovely to have the private courtyard at the back. The kids loved being able to pop round and see the cows on the farm. The house was lovely, had everything we could possibly need. We even found a surprise toy cupboard which was great! The house was in a beautiful location and we will definitely be booking here again.

"Great location."
15 minutes away from Castle, Waterfalls, restaurants, pub, 40 mins from Durham. Plenty big enough for 7 people. Would stay again.
Kids loved horse in next field, watching the sheep and hearing the cows!

Disappointed with the general state of the kitchen and downstairs bathroom, needs some tic and general repair (kitchen cupboards and dishwasher were loose or not fixed correctly).

"The property generally was fine in the broader context re location, size and most facilities, but was not without issues re description and service delivery ."
The property was described as having a FOUR POSTER BED in main bedroom which it certainly did not have . Equally the adjoining property went further in also not having one and actually showing a picture of it .
During our stay the boiler broke down so had no heating or hot water for at least a 12 hour duration.Wi fi was in the latter couple of days of our stay very intermittent.
There was no lock on the back door which caused some concern re security . The owner was aware of this but felt was not a major issue .
Some minor issues of cleanliness in main bathroom

"I am always happy booking with Sykes ."
However this property was rather grubby . The jacuzzi bath had stains all round it not to mention other people's DNA ie hairs in the jets. The mattress in the main bedroom has seen much better days and the mattress in the twin room was stained also .
Sadly the local footpaths aren't great . My partner and elderly dog got set on by the dog belonging to the property the footpath crossed . Luckily no one was hurt but the people don't even apologize or try and stop the incident . Never had anything happen like this before .

"Absolutely amazing place to stay, watching the farmers do their work (omg so hard in the weather we had to endure) and the farm animals/wildlife was great."
Lovely villages nearby were so quirky and took you back to lifestyles we are losing due to larger shopping facilties that produce mass foods that are nothing compared to the butchers and smaller local produce producers.

"The cottage was perfect for a large family and toasty hot."
In fact, so warm that we turned off the central heating - all week. Fabulous location next to a working farm but no noise at all. Great location for a trip to the Metro Centre at Newcastle and we loved Barnard castle (couple of miles away) which has lots of boutique style shops, a Morrisons and a small Salisburys.
A total bargain holiday, with a lovely bottle of prosecco in the fridge and included use of a sauna and spa bath. I think we may come back here - we liked it that much. Thanks.

"Good facilities spacious and lovely play area for children."
Location is superb and lots of things to do in the area for children of all ages.We would have liked to have had an out door table to go with the chairs as the weather was very hot. The accommodation was also too hot upstairs as only two small windows which we had to keep open day and night.Unfortunately the smell from the cowsheds-which are directly behind the cottage was overwhelming and the cows were very vocal on several nights which kept us awake, not good when you are driving especially with two small children. Perhaps this is a one off due to weather but it appears that the cows are housed in the sheds all the time and it would be good to warn potential hirers. I live in the country side so it is not a complaint from a townie
