  • "Fantastic stay in the lovely village of Cotherstone."

Cottage was perfect for our adventures in Teesdale. Cottage was clean and has all the facilities we needed for the week. Kids loved the jacuzzi bath! Lots of local walks, play park and two pubs in the village. We will be back.

Many thanks Mark. Glad you and your family enjoyed your stay ! Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful break at Bellevue!"

The house is lovely, and we particularly appreciated how warm and cosy it was even in March when it was cold outside. The beds were very comfortable and the two lounges were the perfect rooms to relax in. The welcome pack of biscuits and bottle of wine was also a great touch! The owner was lovely and really accommodating which was very much appreciated. The house itself is in a perfect location in the centre of Cotherstone village which is quiet and peaceful, with wonderful pubs, friendly locals, and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Overall we had a wonderful stay and hope to be back!

Thankyou Emma, so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thankyou for your lovely feedback. Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed a lovely week at Belle Vue in Cotherstone this week."

The weather wasn’t kind to us but it didn’t matter because the house is so warm and comfortable and tastefully decorated and the surrounding countryside is so beautiful - it was great to be there. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful and that included a call from Andrea when we arrived to check that all was well. We would recommend Belle Vue to anyone looking for a relaxing break at any time of year.

  • "We have just returned from a weeks stay at Belle Vue cottage."

First we would like to say that this is no run of the mill holiday let type of house it’s a home. The cottage is warm and inviting comfortably furnished with quality sofas, carpets and furniture. There are log burners in each sitting room that add extra coziness. There is a spacious kitchen which has everything guests need and we were very happy to receive a bottle of wine, chocolate biscuits along with a supply of tea, coffee and milk to get us started. The bedroom we used had a comfortable king size bed and the bathroom was spacious with a shower over a jacuzzi bath. The cottage is in a great location for exploring the area and Durham is under 30miles away and an easy drive. We highly recommend this property and enjoyed our stay immensely.

Thankyou Philip for your kind words. So glad you both enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "We stayed at this beautiful cottage w/c 27 August 2023, as a family of 5."

We had some concerns about the on road parking and ability to park near the property, but need not have worried- the road outside the property was wide and not too busy, and we were almost always parked directly opposite the cottage. Inside, the sofas and beds were comfortable, the bookcase was well stocked (we enjoyed reading about the history of the village) and the kitchen was well equipped. The property was tastefully decorated with touches of its history. There was no fighting over bedrooms, as each had its own charm. The courtyard was delightful and Cotherstone is a beautiful village and a great location for exploring Yorkshire and Teesdale as a family. The local village park offers table tennis and a football pitch, in addition to the usual swings and slides, plus a bike track that our children enjoyed as a running circuit! The owner is lovely and keen to ensure a happy stay, and a happy stay we most certainly had - a real home away from home.

  • "We stayed here on the 17th of October for a week."

There was a nice welcoming gift, a property manual and the owners called us on the day of arrival to make sure everything was OK. We loved the local surroundings and Cotherstone is a nice village. The property was clean and well heated throughout our stay. We assume it is timed as it was warm when you got up. The jacuzzi bath was quite powerful and having an upstairs and downstairs toilet is essential like in our own house. Kind regards Alan and Lorna

Such a lovely cottage with all that you could need for a comfortable, relaxing stay. The owner was lovely and rang to check we were happy with the cottage and had everything we needed. The wine and biscuits were a lovely touch too! Cotherstone itself is beautiful and there is so much to see and do nearby; High Force waterfall, Raby Castle and Barnard Castle were real highlights for us! We’d highly recommend and would love to return one day.

  • "Bellevue was a lovely, spacious cottage situated within a similarly lovely little village."

The cottage itself gets the morning sun within the living room, then the afternoon/evening sun in the conservatory, which gives it a nice, warm feel. We were made to feel extremely welcome by the owners too, who seemed incredibly helpful and friendly.
