The property

Resting in the lovely village of Cotherstone is this delightful, detached cottage.

A wonderful escape for a family, this cottage provides a warm base for exploring the beautiful North Pennines and County Durham.

Park your car outside and step over the terraced patio to be welcomed by a cosy living room, uplifted by a gas fire set on the wall and a TV for entertainment.

Walk on through into the bright dining room, a pleasant space for you to settle down with your loved ones and enjoy a delicious meal.

Next you will come to the kitchen, fully equipped with many appliances to assist you during your stay.

Retire to any of the three bedrooms, consisting of a double, twin and single.

Serving the bedrooms is the ample family bathroom with bath and shower over, so you can decide how to best prepare for the day.

Outside is a small patio area which overlooks the rolling countryside, providing a peaceful spot to sit with a glass of wine and admire the view.

The enclosed nature of both the front and rear garden also makes this property pet-friendly.

Explore more of this delightful location by wandering the river banks and traversing the foot trails, stopping off for a drink in one of the local pubs along the way.

A 10-minute drive will take you to the historic town of Bernard Castle, hosting a selection of antique shops, tea rooms and independent shops to browse.

This pretty village of Cotherstone is nestled by the wooded banks of the rivers Tees and Balder, within Teesdale in the south west of County Durham. Resting three miles upstream of Barnard Castle, with several listed buildings, a cluster of stone built houses and three village greens, this delightful location is superb for touring the beautiful North Pennines AONB and the northern region of Yorkshire Dales National Park. The village is sparsely populated by isolated farmsteads, boasts two local pubs and small shop, and a quaint village hall.
