  • "The cottage was perfect."

It had everything that we needed and the owner was very kind and helpful. It was lovely to be greeted with a chicken casserole in the oven, ready for us to eat, after our journey there. What a kind thought! We also appreciated the dessert and wine - a brilliant way to begin our holiday.

The owner is friendly and just next door if you did need her for anything. It’s a good base to use if wanting to tour the coast line, beautiful countryside and towns of Durham, Teesdale, Richmondshire and Cleveland.

  • "Westerton View is well located for visiting the various areas of Durham and North Yorkshire."

With Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland and Durham City all close by. Kynren an epic tale of England performed by the local community is a must to see. A fantastic experience. The flat was first class, very clean, spacious and very well equipped with a homely feel. The owner, Margret Taylor, provided us with a hot meal and a bottle of wine on arrival. In addition she provided for our immediate needs several other goodies, which was very much appreciated. We stayed for two weeks and enjoyed every minute of our stay in the comfortable relaxing accommodation and look forward to returning.

  • "The property was spotlessly clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need."

So are many other holiday lets - but this one went much further. Margaret Taylor, the owner, went out of her way to make our stay. She made a delicious cooked meal (free!) for our first evening, to say nothing of the milk, butter, bread, cake, biscuits and wine that she also provided. We cannot recommend this property highly enough.

  • "There was everything one could want in the apartment/flat."

The picture on the website doesn't do it credit. Once inside you are taken aback as everything is a home from home and the owner cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable. She had everything one could want including a downstairs conservatory for holiday makers to use. I can definitely recommend it as it is very well placed to visit so many places. Hopefully we will be visiting next year.
