  • "The property is in a great location close to the town centre."

Everything is labelled clearly instructions for heating etc. Parking outside the cottage is great as long as each cottage only has one car in the spaces. The Italian in the town is a most La Piazza , lots to do around the area. Milk, teabags, sugar and washing products all there a great touch. Would definitely recommend it.

  • "Don’t come here."

Neighbours are noisy and had no rest.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear the neighbours had a BBQ with music, I believe this was turned off by midnight and only happened on your first night. Property Owner

The cottage is well equipped and is clean, comfy and a home from home. The area around Richmond is beautiful and had lots to do. Lovely walks, great pubs/restaurants and lots of places to visit. We are looking forward to returning to this cottage.

  • "We cant thankyou enough for a really lovely stay ay Honeysuckle Cottage, The owner thought of everything to make our stay just as if we were staying in our own home from providing everything we needed and beyond."

There was even dog treats and dog towels which was so thoughtful as well as use of a washing machine and tumble dryer which made life so easy as well as so much information on the area and places of interest to visit. We were overwhelmed at such high standards and can honestly say its one of the nicest areas we have visited and cottages we have stayed in. We will definitely recommend this to friends and feel really blessed we had the privilege to stay here. A hot tub would have made the stay complete to relax in after all the walking we did but aside from that there were no negatives i could give this owner or gorgeous cottage . Thankyou.

Thank you for the fabulous feedback. We look forward to seeing you agin in the future. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped and we really enjoyed our stay."

Worked very well for us since our son stayed in Lavender cottage (when we stayed only 1 household could stay in self-catering accommodation). One area for improvement we suggest is the patio furniture, which could do with some attention.

Thank you for the lovely feedback. We are gradually updating different areas, i hope to see you again soon so you can see improvements. Property Owner

  • "This was the first time we've been able to go and travel further than our neighbourhood for a holiday in over 6 months due to the pandemic, and it was wonderful to get away and see some different views and scenery."

The cottage is very well appointed and comfortable with all you need inside. Especially as I still had to prepare meals apart from one day when we managed to eat out. Still no eating out inside places till May. So everything we needed was there. The host had put out chairs so we could sit outside there too and the addition of washing machine and dryer in a little outside shed which is shared with the other cottages in the house was a bonus if required which we used. The cottage is out of the town and very quiet so you could hear the birds in the trees but it is near enough to go into Richmond when you want - 10 mins walk. It is in an ideal area for exploring the Dales and Herriott country which we wanted to do and did and Richmond is a lovely place to explore too. We will definately be returning and thanks to the host for a lovely break away.

Thank you for the lovely feedback, we would love to see you again very soon. Property Owner

About the location

Barnard Castle 10 miles; Leyburn 12 miles.

Situated at the entrance to Swaledale, the ancient market town of Richmond stands on a prominent hilltop site to the north of the River Swale. Its cobbled streets and narrow alleys or 'wynds' enshrine over nine centuries of busy history and unique character. The town grew up around its castle, a Norman fortress dating back to 1071, famously situated high above the river - indeed the name Richmond is derived from 'Riche-mont' meaning 'strong hill'. Today there are wonderful walks to be enjoyed such as the Castle Walk - a dramatic terrace walk beneath the castle walls - or alternatively walk alongside the River Swale where there are parks, safe paddling areas and small waterfalls to enjoy. Within the town, narrow streets and alleys radiate from the cobbled Market Place (which has a weekly market and monthly farmers’ market) and there are numerous shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. The town flourished in the 18th and 19th centuries and the resulting elegant Georgian architecture lines many of the old streets. The Georgian Theatre is one of the oldest surviving theatres in the country with visitors enjoying its regular productions all year round.
