The Wi-Fi was very slow, which wasn't a big factor, but just didn't work well with the firestick. Apart from that, we had everything we needed.

  • "Brilliant lodges, hot tub was amazing in the evening."

If you want a relaxing time away doing nothing this is for you. Not much in the way of attractions open locally but think this may be due to covid. Could do with bread cutting knife in the lodge and maybe update the tv as the one we had could only get 1 radio station (80s) which suited us but wouldn't suit others. Will be back -- Thank you Paul and Alison the site managers( sorry if we have got names wrong) they were both so friendly and welcoming.

Need some replacements - sofa was very worn and bed was uncomfortable. Cleanliness was overall good, just some dusting of the internal doors would have given top marks. We are looking forward to booking again, we loved the park and the area.

Kiplin Lodges are in a very peaceful location, leaflets were provided letting us know of local places to visit. Our hot tub was cleaned daily . The site manager lived on site which meant if we needed her for anything she was there at all times. We will definitely stay there again.

  • "Lovely lodge, excellent site."

We had a great base for some North Yorkshire adventures where we could also relax and switch off in comfort. As neighbours with the wonderful Kiplin Hall, it's well worth a visit. Food at the Lakeside cafe was great and there are so many restaurants and pubs within a 15 min drive it was hard to choose! I would definitely recommend and may well return myself.

We really had a lovely relaxing break, the cabin was very clean & had a feeling of home from home, every thing was there from the kitchen to the much enjoyable hot tub, our dog loved it also, we have booked again but this time we're going to South Wales,

The lodge was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The hot tub outside was excellent and was private enough to feel comfortable. The location of the site was ideal, close enough to have a day trip to York one day and Whitby another day.

  • "The cabin itself looks lovely and the hot tub was nice and clean."

The dirty plate and empty packets found under the bed were a bit of a disappointment. It was also a bit disappointing that there was no tea or coffee at the property as I have normally found at all other establishments. Other guests had also been left wine and nibbles whereas we hadn't. We asked for a cot and high chair a few days before our arrival however they wernt there. This was quickly rectified after another phone call. No electricity or water on our last night after a thunderstorm, we left early the next morning to come home. All in all it was ok, I dont think we would return.

  • "The lodge was well equipped for self catering."

The beds were comfortable. Wardrobe space was fantastic. It was clean, with plenty of space in the living area. The hot tub was a bonus, and the kids loved it. The large outside veranda had a gate which was ideal for keeping the dog in. Also the site was lovely and quiet which is just how we like it. Would recommend to anyone wanting a lovely peaceful place that is in reach of places to visit. Would definitely go back again.

  • "Lovely lodge and very clean."

Often expect a little bit rundown when looking for dog friendly accommodation but this was not the case. Location was handy, not far to get onto main roads/shops/days out if wanted. Quiet site, think we booked a good week as not in school holidays. Only issue was communication with site owners. Took an hour to answer phone and another hour to get our lodge key to us! Caused the stress levels to go up as we couldn't leave the lodge that was left unlocked. No fun for a hungry 2 year old and 35week pregnant lady. No apologies or comments when key finally arrived! Lucky place was nice and no other problems so we could enjoy our relaxing break before baby number 2 arrives.

A good lodge in a secluded location and excellent value for money, especially with the private hot tub. If you want to stargaze and listen to the owls at night then this is the place for you (if being online and intouch is important then maybe not - there is no wifi and mobile coverage is limited).

About the location

Scorton 2.25 miles; Richmond 8 miles; Northallerton 8 miles.

Kiplin is a small hamlet in North Yorkshire, just 2.25 miles from Scorton where you can find a convenience store and pubs and 8 miles from Richmond where cobbled streets and narrow alleys or 'wynds' enshrine over nine centuries of busy history and unique character. Within the town, narrow streets and alleys radiate from the cobbled Market Place (which has a weekly market and monthly farmers’ market) and there are numerous shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. West of Richmond is All Creatures Great and Small Country, plus the county town of Northallerton is also close by and boasts market days on Wednesdays and Saturdays, when both sides of the High Street are home to stalls selling a wide range of goods and produce, and on the fourth Wednesday of the month the market is joined by a farmers' market. This is a wonderful holiday area, with so much to see and do.
