  • "We enjoyed a lovely week in the apartment."

It is well equipped and little the extras such as maps, DVDs, games and local area information from the owners were great. Perfect location for a relaxing break, with Barnard Castle Town just a few minutes drive away.

  • "Field View Apartments was a wonderful place to stay, a real home from home."

The owners had not left anything to chance. There wasn't anything we needed that they hadn't already thought of. It was a great base for us to explore the local area. The surrounding walks, rivers and waterfalls were breathtaking. We hope to be back one day soon :)

  • "We stayed in this lovely apartment ,just outside of Barnard Castle for 6 days and it truly was a hidden gem."

The apartment is wonderfully old and modern at the same time and is decorated very tastefully and in keeping with its rustic charm. It was immaculate and very well equipped to a high standard with everything from the appliances to a huge library of DVDs. Lovely gift tray on arrival which was much appreciated after a long days travel. Owner provided lots of useful local information and was very approachable. Would not hesitate to recommend this property!

  • "We've had a lovely stay at this beautiful and well thought out apartment, perfectly located near places of interest."

The owner has information on lovely walks, restaurants and maps for the area. We loved the waterfalls and our visit to Egglestone Abbey and Bowes Museum and Barnard Castle. Could have easily spent a couple more days in this area, and at this beautiful apartment. Thank you again.

About the location

BARNARD CASTLE

Staindrop 6 miles; Richmond 13 miles; Darlington 16 miles; Durham 20 miles.

The market town of Barnard Castle is situated in the unspoilt countryside of Teesdale in County Durham. It stands on the site of an ancient Roman fort which crosses the river. The medieval ruins of the castle still tower over the river and are well worth a visit. Known affectionately as 'Barney’ by residents and visitors alike, the town boasts cobble streets, yards and back lanes, which were first laid out in the 12th century. The nearby Bowes Museum is well worth a visit and a wonderful way to spend a day wandering around this beautiful building and experiencing the fascinating exhibitions. Beautiful walking country is right on the doorstep of this lovely market town, with woodland walks and cycle routes and the Lake District, the Pennine and Teesdale Ways, and the River Tees and magnificent waterfalls at High Force are all within easy reach.
