"Superbly situated for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and truly in a league of it's own!"
Furnished beautifully, creating a real 'home from home'. Owners extremely considerate, thoughtfully checking in with us during the week to make sure everything was okay. The 'Welcome Pack' was a wonderful touch which even included doggie treats for our pooch and sweets for the local Trick or Treaters as it was Halloween! Highly recommend, will definitely be returning for a future visit.

"Magnolia Cottage is one of the best cottages we have stayed in - beautifully furnished with lots of thoughtful details like the food welcome pack."
Beds super comfy and kitchen equipment was amazing. It was too cold to sit out on the patio but we hope to come back and can imagine sitting in that pretty, relaxed area. The village itself is lovely with nice walks . Fish and chips from the van outside the pub on Wednesday were superb! Thank you for a fantastic stay- we’ll be back! "Magnolia Cottage was a lovely place to stay."
Beautifully furnished, well equipped & very clean. Lovely little touches, like the rechargeable torches in plug sockets, showed how much thought was put in for the visitors staying there. The welcome pack was also a lovely touch, with some core essentials, as well as little treats. Lovely, quiet village too, with walks out to the surrounding fields.

"A great cottage in a beautiful village."
The cottage is well appointed and spacious and really home from home. The owners were fantastic, and nothing too much trouble. Other than a pub, the village does not have a local shop, so ensure you take what you need, or buy essentials when you're out and about as there is nowhere to walk to for a loaf of bread or milk. However, our welcome pack from the owners meant we had plenty in! The lane outside the property is narrow, so if you have a very large vehicle or are a nervous driver, I would advise parking nearby. Other than to load and unload I parked my car on the adjacent road and never had trouble finding space. It was only 300 yards away, so not a big deal for me. It's a great base to explore the local area. The train station at nearby Darlington gets you North to Durham or South to York, so you can travel further afield. We liked the Mainsgill Tea Room on the A66 and Easby Abbey is worth a trip for the echo stone. You can park in Richmond and walk the mile or park in Easby itself. We were lucky enough to have beautiful sunny evenings, so met the neighbours and local dog walkers. It really is a serene part of the world and oh so quiet! Sykes were top notch with regard to email communications sending us information regards the property.

"Super cottage in a lovely village, in a gorgeous area."
Cottage was spotless, everything we needed. Really comfy beds. A warm friendly welcome from one of the owners, as we arrived, and the other owner stayed in touch to check all was well, and it was. Wouldn’t hesitate to return.

"This cottage was amazing for our needs everything was well maintained, impeccably clean and well equipped for everything we needed."
Karen met us at a social distance outside the property with the key in the door and gave us a handover and made sure we were happy with the very clear fact sheet sent on the day of arrival. The local pubs offer a fab dining experience in a safe secure track and trace environment. There is a quaint village pub you can easily walk to with a fish and chip van every Thursday from 5 pm that I can hugely recommend. We will be back thank you for a much needed relax and great experience xx

"Overall a well presented cottage, with everything needed for comfortable stay."
Outside, road very narrow and may not be suitable for larger vehicles, garden area not fenced for dogs and is open onto road- which is used only for access. Village very quiet and travel necessary for shops although there was a very generous welcome pack on arrival.

"We loved the cottage."
It was very comfortable and tastefully kitted out. The welcome pack was great and much appreciated. We were very lucky to have wonderful sunny weather all week and it was great to be able to sit outside with a drink. The flowers on the patio were lovely.
Would recommend Richmond and Barnard Castle for a wander around. Both had interesting individual shops and cafes. The Bowes Museum was was worth a visit. If you're looking for a good place to eat would recommend' Rustiqe' French Bistro in Richmond. Food was delicious.

"Gorgeous cottage in lovely village with really friendly people."
Pub in village was excellent.the only thing that let the holiday down for us was that the garden isnt enclosed.it looks enclosed on the advert for the cottage and it should say on there the garden wasnt enclosed.it was a real pain for my dog.we also found the cooker very confusing but apart from those two issues the holiday was great.

We were shattered when we arrived after a busy day at Croft Race Track. The host met us and when we brought the luggage in there was a fantastic welcome basket with bread, biscuits, scones and jam. A perfect way to start our mini-break in Melsonby. I would highly recommend the cottage. Beds are so comfy too!

"Very lovely cottage, downstairs a little smaller than appears on the photos."
Very well presented, a few bits of equipment missing (like large pan - we bought one) that you tend to find in cottages being rented for the first time, but lots of very nice touches including welcome basket. Lovely village, with lots of places to visit around within 5-20 miles. Garden/yard is in front of cottage and across very quiet road, however was not quite so convenient as having rear garden for the dog, not clear on the cottage description on the site. Shower in main bathroom, very low and not really useable for anyone over 5'8", however bath does have shower attachment. Overall a good stay and would recommend

Very clean and well presented with comfy beds. The owners left us a wonderful welcome pack which we really enjoyed! Loved the area, the village is very interesting, we enjoyed looking at all the different properties in the village. Met lots of nice people on our dog walks, the locals are very friendly. We enjoyed our trip in to Richmond, we went to the panto at the Georgian Theatre, well worth a visit. There are lots of places to go and eat not far from the village. We will definitely return. Thank you, Sandra, Trish and Karen.
