  • "The cottage, although small, is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you could possibly need."

The garden is wonderful, especially seeing all the birds on the feeders and hopping around. The welcome hamper was the icing on the cake and far exceeded expectations. Hazel and Andrew are exceptional hosts. We had a great time - in spite of mainly cool, cloudy weather - and hope to go back.

  • "Hazel & Andrew were perfect hosts at Fieldfare lodge."

We would certainly stay again. With the aid of an OL30 OS map we were able to start most of the local walks straight from the door. The only problem was the week went too quickly and we were sorry to leave the cosy cottage. Gordon & Pat (August 2021)

  • "The owner, who lives in an attached house, has three cats, which free range around Fieldfare Lodge."

These are not mentioned in the Lodge particulars and we feel they should be, as many, including us, cannot stand these creatures! Indeed some may be allergic to them. A cat features in one photo in the comprehensive gallery, but it is inside the owner’s house. The Lodge lacks a shaver point: at least we could not locate it, so it was remarkably well hidden.

The cottage is situated in an ideal position for touring the dales and the facilities provided are wonderful down to a very welcoming food pack. Andrew and Hazel do their utmost to make you feel welcome. The back garden can be a sun trap and a haven for those who like to watch the local wildlife.
